The Cook, The Thief, His Wife & Her Lover is the realization of the horrendous nightmare in the mind of a psychopathic artist..... thats the best description i can render.

Nice song choice. I'm surprised (but impressed) that you did this. I don't think I even thought about it until Georgina said Albert isn't interested in sex with women, and I still didn't think on it very hard until I read Mitchel's character description in the screenplay.
Definately Gambon and Roth did a great job with both these characters. Albert a latent homosexual and Mitchel who may be a corrupted youth but probably wouldn't even realise if he was being violated by another man? Who knows.
"MITCHEL is a dangerous, erratic, psychopathic innocent. He's always eager to please and Impress Albert and maybe is related to him - perhaps SPICA is MITCHEL'S uncle. ALBERT uses and abuses MITCHEL who always remains loyal to him. ALBERT, without acknowledging it openly, feels drawn to MITCHEL - maybe it's thwarted fatherhood or maybe it's a sexual attraction." So Greenaway certainly wasn't shying away from the possability.
I really don't thing Albert is a latent homosexual. Yes, he's not interrested in women, but neither in man, he's interrested in pain and defilement.

You've sparked my interest now - I've never read the screenplay, what about Mitchel's character description made you think on it?
Anyway, thanks for the comment!

This is really well done. I don't actually like the Kaiser Chiefs but this song really works.
Also Albert Spica might actually be the most horrible, vile, disgusting character ever committed to celluloid.
