  • It's really easy being a habitual complainer. To see fault in everything / everyone around us. We're complaining so much that we won't have time to do anything about the situation we're complaining about. Sometimes it helps just to keep our mouth shut and catch my thought before another complain comes out.

  • @oneseeker2 Tsem Rinpoche cares about us all so much and has such pure motivation which is concern for all of us. He could be somewhere else doing other things, but he has kindly taken the time to show us the problems that are bothering us and how to fix them, encouraging us and inspiring us to be the best that we can be.

Personally, I cannot express how fortunate I am to receive his help or all the times when he, and so many other great masters, displayed inconceivable compassionate means..

  • You need to listen to him... he is on the money with wisdom... thank ou Tsem Tulku Rinpoche

  • @suzukidas2 This is very good, I try to catch myself when I am doing work , don't complain coz in the end we have nothing to dedicate in the END makes perfect sense.

  • amazing...

  • Thank you for the good dharma talk Rinpoche. You always give a relevant and most practical way to practice dharma. Hope you can keep producing the dharma talk on youtube.

  • Hello, to those who like this video, please go read the lovely blog of H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche. The link is blog(dot)tsemtulku(dot)com

  • "Pratice makes perfect".

  • I think if we practice to be focus, through trial and error, we simply become better at it. It is really good because if we really apply ourselves, we will eventually beat our habits and transform and be better.

  • I didn't realize complaining as something bad. Its scary because I love to complain and find fault in everything i see and do. Almost nothing escapes my critical eye. In one way it is good because things get meticulously done and in the other people find me overbearing. Sigh. I guess it is something bad.

  • Everything we are good is because we have practised it. Therefore, if we want to transform, we have to practise the qualities that bring satisfaction and happiness that is in line with our spiritual path.

  • Well Dungkar80, most of the time we complain to bring others down because that is how we feel of others. But really those who complain a lot are really dissatisfied with themselves and can only see faults in others because that's how they see themselves. So they complain. So now listening to such teachings should illuminate and transform ourselves

  • I think complaining is fine is you have already have a solution in mind and is willing to work it out with the people involved. Then I think the complain become something constructive.

  • if we have wrong motivation, even dharma work is not a real dharma work, a sign of not doing your dharma work even if you are, is you like to complain. That is what I get from this video teaching.

  • I complaint because of self-cherishing mind. i don't want to let go of I am right and other is wrong, everyday. i want to be right, so i become complaining and complaining. At first i thought is i try to help other by complaining, actually i am wrong, i am just have ego that wants to win but not really benefit other.

  • Very inspiring teaching! What is the purpose of complaining? It's like a cup with a hole.

  • Oh! I can't stand people who complain a lot. They really bring the morale and energy down. It's like these people are sucking like vampires the positive vibes and energy when they complain. Thank you Rinpoche for this teaching.

  • Hahaha. I am complaining here as well. Silly me. I think we can reverse the effects by motivating or advising others to do more or become better instead of complaining.

  • This is tough. I always complain and this teaching really give insight into my character. Thank you rinpoche for such simple yet profound teaching.

  • "Stop complaining!!!!!" - my aunt`s wisdom.

She said that about her husband....

    :-)

  • very important message! Thank you

  • We must put effort to reflect on all the teachings received from Rinpoche everyday and apply them. That is how we can improve. That is how we can make a difference to others' lives (making them feel happier & ourselves eventually)

  • Yes, don't complaint!!! No matter what kind of enviroments, if we complaint just create disharmony for that enviroments and also slow down the growth of work.

Complaint with solutions and not only just talk!

  • Yeah, We just have to let go of being lazy and always complains! Like Rinpoche stressed out, we have been practising laziness and complaining all through our lives.

  • Dont complain and complain, we should be complaining our ownself and not others. Always have a mind that looks faults in urself and not others. Train yourself like that, then you will get a peaceful mind, as Rinpoche said, Practise COMPASSION and GENEROSITY........

  • don't complain is such a simple yet logical advice. i can't even do that on a daily basis, what more wishing for higher attainments. Thank you Rinpoche, for reminding me of such a basic yet profound daily practice.

  • i don't try to seduce people but i get people hitting on me all the time. so does that mean i am so good at seducing people that i don't even have to try?

  • "whatever we are good at doing, be it positive or negative, it comes from a lifetime of us doing it..."

OMG!!! How much can we improve ourselves and our lives if we just think about this!! Such a logical yet impactful message. Thank you Rinpoche!!

  • loves it.

  • It's very obvious...yet so many people miss that point that whatever we are doing will only reinforce what we are doing...so the only way to get better at it is to keep doing it even though it is hard. Bad habits can be stopped simply by just stop doing them. This is so much less complicated than all those self help books :P

  • if you dont stop your habits, you will just keep reinforcing it. Every single time you are lazy or when you complain, you are actually practicing that so that you will become better and better at it. Why not spend it on something more worthwhile instead? kecharasaraswati(dot)com

  • Who are doing this videos. They are so simple yet effective.

Thank you so much. I love them.

    Please don't stop!!!

Long live Rinpoche and his students!!!

  • if you actually do prayers for something and then after that you complain, whatever prayers you did are false and it is just so very hypocritical because your unwillingness to put up with inconvinience shows how much effort you are willing to put into achieveing what you want or need. When that happens, is there any need for prayers in the first place? neonlama(dot)com

  • thanks tenshi. we are trying to push ourselves.

  • prayers are just to help oil the floors when you are pushing yourself and not a means to an end. So if you really want to do it, you not only push yourself but do prayers everyday as well so that you are able to do it. kecharasaraswati(dot)com

  • what's a bigger vision and how do we practice having it?

  • if i go to a disco for to work out so that I can have good health to do dharma work, can i dedicate the merit to all living beings?

  • the reason why we should not complain is well, how far has complaining about anything gotten us? Most of the time, nowhere. In fact, it makes the situation worse when no one does anything about it. The smarter solution would be to do something about it. BTW Rinpoche's teachings can be found here: neonlama(dot)com

  • A good way to not complain anymore is to have a first hand look at the homeless and providing aid for them, like what they are doing here: watch?v=3rCWC654mAs

  • 发人深省的一席话

  • That's funny YSH -- u're so holy. Yes complaints plants unwholesome seeds in the people around us.

  • obviously, because it only aggravates the situation and not help solve or lighten it all. Instead of complaining, it is much better to just find a solution.

  • <3 thank u i didn't know YSH

  • We become better at something and proficient through practice so simple yet how many people can realize that.

  • people see that for everything else, everything except for spiritual practice and becoming a better person. How sad.

  • This is so apt for me I used to complain incessantly , I must stop complaining.

  • I have found personally that the less you complain, the more harmonously you get along with others around you. Vice-a-versa, the more you complain because you feel like someone has done you wrong, the more 'injustice' you are asking for...

Therefore, when I complain... I do it to my poor old pillow in my room! Hahahahaha

  • thats not really the point lol. the point is to not complain at all and shut yourself up from complaining if you are ever tempted to complain. If you can complain to the pillow, you can definetely complain to someone else sooner or later.

  • I must really, really stop complaining...because this video has shown me that its very hypocritical to practice Dharma while complaining about everything else...

  • Makes sense! Stop practising and dedicating to be a Great Complainer.

  • What you say really strikes a chord, I missed your talks Rinpoche...thank you so much for posting this!

  • I love his teachings. I do donate to Kechara House every month as much as I can. I wish I could do more.

  • This remind what happened to me recently, got a project deadline and i have been complaining of not enough time to colleagues, too many other projects to take care and burden them. Which I spend too much on complaining and nothing done, until i decided to do Setrap puja to help calm my mind to focus in the project and it goes well when my mind calm and focus, instead of complaint and it just waste my time and energy which won't help the progress of what i need to complete before the deadline.

  • Thank you <3 You rock!

I complain a lot. I know. So what is a good practice like when you see something, or you want to complain about some same old thing over and over and over again, like what is a practice to replace the complaining practice? I try to tell myself.. forgive and let go. Thanks LUR.

  • Yet another Wonderful teaching by His Eminence Tsem Tulku Rinpoche! May He live long and teach the Dharma without any obstacles! Thank You very much for posting this!

  • interesting and good points

  • personally, the points are good not because they look good only on paper but is also highly applicable in daily life. Such teachings are are indeed rare and amazing!

  • rare and Amasing no their is nothing that is new, and unheard here,

  • of course. but who actually talks about these things in a way that we can understand, and that we can actually apply? Might not be applicable to narrow minded people tho.
