  • I have just paid for and awaiting delivery of a wayfarer. is there any way to attach to a normal household plug?

  • Hi i am thinking off buying of ebay. ii am going to buy it for a hobby. do i need a bus to use the machine. If i dont what do i plug it in to .

  • @jmjmstuff Hi, you dont need a bus, you'll need a basetray/plate (the thing which sits on the bus which the actual machine screws into). This basetray is connected to the 24v supply from the bus. You would need to get a 24v power supply off ebay. Once you get that simply connect the positive wire to the positive 24v output on the supply, and the negative wire from the plate to the negative output on the supply!

  • @merseyrail508124 Thanks for the help. Also how much do these 24 supply cost and is it a safety hazard because obviously i live in a household enviorment.

  • @jmjmstuff also i'd suggest you get a wayfarer saver or wayfarer 2 machine rather than a newer machine such as the wayfarer 3 or tgx. This is because for wayfarer 3s and tgx you would have to spend hundreds of pounds to get the software, depot machine, modules, etc, whereas wayfarer savers are standalone (see this video, you just sign onto the actual machine without need for software etc). Wayfarer 2s can be converted to savers for 20quid. This machine was a wayfarer 2 but is now converted.

  • hi could you direct me please on how to change a wayfarer 2 to a saver do you have a circit diagram or is there some diffrent you have to do many thanx dave

  • @razer192 to convert a wayfarer 2 to a saver you need to change the eprom on the top board. one eprom is above the others on a light green block, this one is not soldered in an can be removed. carefully remove that eprom and fit the correct saver eprom in. If you need more information, pics, diagrams, help and parts, email me, merseyside-bve@live.com, or if you prefer I can convert, fix and do a general service on your machine to make sure it is working well, email and ill do my best to help!

  • You are top! Thanks for all your help!

If you can get more info that would be fab!

  • Thank you, got that working now!

I have a key but do not know how to program, I have been able to change the price on preset buttons but do not know how to do the ticket classes, ie adult return ect. I also want to set the time and date. Are you able to help?

  • @dayley78 p1 to program prices, press P1. To program the button as a pass button, just press it. for an open class/price press 0 then the button you wish (when the screen says p1). open and preset type 0 before the price then you can either type a price or it will be the preset one if you just press it. e.g 0170 is 1.70 but any other can be typed. type 170 sets it to 1.70. to set the time press P4, then type the time (24hr), hit enter. for the rest ill haveto get instructions, ill inbox you!

  • Thanks for this vid, I have just got one off eBay for £20! Was only able to get it working because of you vid! Can you help me with logging off and programming? Can't find any info on the net!

  • @dayley78 if you want to reprogram it, you need the program key, try getting in touch with TTS aka Transport ticket services and they will be able to help with any issues you have, and can supply you with parts, cheaper than many other companies! To reset when you get the terminus, ready to head back, press 000 and click enter, it will then display ' Service', then after that 'journey'. To sign off, press 000, then when the machine says 'Service', press 000 again and a waybill will print.. HTH!!

  • cool!! uk buses are same!

  • they should show passengers this before they use buses, nout worse than a driver on a takeover who has to get ready and punch a load of data into the machine whilst some numpty stands there whining about not getting a ticket yet. Be patient!!!!!!!

  • @mondyboy81 haha, glad im not a driver!

  • Is that a car battery is hooked up to? How do they cost?

  • @lowestoftbus I am using a 230v mains - 24v converter. Probably avalialbe off ebay. Price is usually fairly cheap depending on the brand. The machine was about 30quid, the power supply was in my dads garage!

  • How did you connect your up so it will work without a bus? Good video.

    Thanks

    Daniel

  • Hi, It came with one of the mounting plates off the bus. I just connected it up to a 240v mains to 24v converter power supply!

  • @merseyrail508124 I've just bought a unit too - can you tell me which wire is which on the base plate please so I can wire it in to SIB 6711's dash..

  • @RustonDave the cable from the base plate should have a red, blue/black, and green wire. To wire into the bus there is usually a small socket and the correct plug fitted on the end of the baseplate cable. I have never wired one in on a bus so not sure which pin on the plug is for which wire from the base plate, it might be labelled but not sure. Red is positive, blue/black is negative, and green is earth. I think the the socket is the same way around as a standard mains socket. Hth.

  • hang on

    you could make bus tickets!!!

  • I suppose I could, but as it has an old merseybus ticket roll fitted in it it won't be very convincing considering merseybus went over 10years ago now!

  • ohhh right lol

  • LOL!

  • Wow! Cool machine, I like that one :-D

  • Thanks!

  • Good one Luke!

  • Thanks!

  • Nice mate 5*

  • Thanks
