You can't fully make a comparison between the two, when you haven't even played WoW to the fullest. Also you are leaning towards Runescape. I have been 85 on WoW since Cata came out, and I used to play Runescape until about level 100. They are both games that will get boring eventually, and they are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT, You cannot compare games that don't even play the same way. Just because they are both MMO's doesn't mean they are a thing alike.

But, to get to be able to unlock the really fun content of Runescape, you have to be able to do quests (which are much more complicated and well done than WoW quests. Plus they are a lot more fun), and you have to have a LOT of cash to train your buyable skills. This means that if you are very unlucky with bosses, or have no patience with skilling, you will almost never have the money to become better in the game. SO....
Is still interesting as you get to level up your character and get better gear and spells, plus you'll be able to unlock new dungeons and areas to quest in. For Runescape, it's very economically based, as Leivve said. The way you play the game is determined by how much money you have, and patience. For Runescape, you have several ways to make your money which is obviously skilling (Gathering skills mostly), bosses, merchanting, etc. This gives a much greater variety of things to do....
Okay, this is a very good comparison, in my opinion. I am currently a Runescape Veteran who has played it for a little over 5 years now, and I was addicted. Now, I've gotten tired of getting screwed because of some of the bad things in the game. And off and on, I've played WoW for about a year or two. I can honestly say that they are evenly good. Their differences balance them out. For World of Warcraft, it's ALL combat based (except for the few professions). This can become tiring, but....
WoW is combat driven, which as you said gets stale very fast.
Runescape is economy driven; in MY opinion combat is the weakest part of the game, but that's OK because your not even going to be spending most of your time fighting; maybe early on, but once you reach level 20 combat level it starts to take a back seat.

Actually most of the areas are open to any level, it's just if you're level 10, and going into a lvl 50 zone, you'll be pulling those opponents and they will pretty much kill you instantly, so that's why they would off limit certain areas.

want to know why in wow you do stuff over and over again? to get to the end game content. That is the sole purpose of leveling. Leveling is not supposed to be fun. The end game content is where all the fun is. Your main goal in wow as a new player is to quickly learn the basics and as fast and painless as possible level up to the max level of the current expansion. If you judge wow based on the leveling aspect you are most definitely wrong. I am not biased towards wow because i play both games.

Both are nice...I have a lvl 90 on RS have 5 skillcapes and then I got so bored of it...No quests left to do...Can't do them again or ever wait for new quests I personally liked WoW first time I saw it and got it like after 5 days. Tbh, it matters which game you played first. Say you had a level 85 Rogue in WoW, and just logged on RS for the first time you would obviously say WoW is better because your character is much more advanced. Vice versa.
That being said, it matters which game us better. A way to tell; how many players does WoW have? About 12 million. As for Runescape, about 500k active accounts.

The people who say that they've played RuneScape probably played it 5-10 years ago. You guys don't know know how many times RuneScape upgraded to a clearer and overall better version of itself. Ive played WoW too, but I really see no changes overall. BOTH are repetitive. They both have similar styles in game-play, but it really depends on the person. You would know what I mean if you played them both, unlike all of you who haven't played one or the other. In my opinion, RuneScape is better. :P
Runescape is more repetitive than WoW, i play both and i like both but world of warcraft is way more fun to level up. In runescape you click on monsters and just keep clicking over and over thats all you do.. i have 99 str 99 attack on runescape and getting them was a pain in the ass. In wow u dont have to do the same thing OVER AND OVER! there is so much variety, places 2 go and things 2 do. From what i can see ur either grinding or doing quests. Now i have 2 agree for me outlands was my most boring places 2 level but it dosent have 2 be. You can get a party 2gether and lvl (much more fun) or do bg's and random dungeons which give go loot and xp. Rs just does not match wow only it's cheaper and has better quests becuase it has so lil of them they take time on them.

If you find Club Penguin more entertaining than Runescape, that's your choice.

wow is MUCH more diverse and larger-based. rs is a bit more relaxed and i think it's easier to be social in it. both games are tedious in different aspects - wow is tedious because many things are repetetive as you go from area to area (dungeons/quests), and rs is repetetive when you try to level (clicking a million times to mine, fish, etc)

@CDT23YT The quest get more fun at higher lvls. RS has good quests but too little. I really like those rs quests there very interesting but like i said too little. The pvp in WoW does suck if u play actual battlegrounds and stuff its really boring and bad. RS also has a terrible pvp. However it is fun to do raids on cities in WoW but other then that its not fun. Graphics are good not great but good. And yes there are too many nerds
Its hard to judge WoW while leveling, the leveling process is kind of slow. When you actually start raiding though the game get better. Best part of WoW is raiding and also. Most new MMOs do copy off WoW in some ways because it is very hard to not copy at least a part since it covers most of the best parts of MMOs. But also when WoW first came out it copied a lot from games like everquest and over the last fer years they have taken some stuff from MMOs also but overall it comes down to ur taste.

The same thing over and over? On runescape you click and watch and click on food or potions every once and a while. The dungeon may be repetitive but the higher level ones are alot more complicated if they gave you dungeons like that at low levels, low levels would get wiped all the time. Joining a dungeon and running as a team thats social boss runs are social you need other people to do almost everything on Wow lol.

want to know why in wow you do stuff over and over again? to get to the end game content. That is the sole purpose of leveling. Leveling is not supposed to be fun. The end game content is where all the fun is. Your main goal in wow as a new player is to quickly learn the basics and as fast and painless as possible level up to the max level of the current expansion. If you judge wow based on the leveling aspect you are most definitely wrong. I am not biased towards wow because i play both games.

Both are nice...I have a lvl 90 on RS have 5 skillcapes and then I got so bored of it...No quests left to do...Can't do them again or ever wait for new quests I personally liked WoW first time I saw it and got it like after 5 days. I have 85s on WoW and 3 accounts over lvl 80 and have high skills on RS and both of them are nice, just don't compare these 2 games. WoW vs RoM or GW should work

Tbh, it matters which game you played first. Say you had a level 85 Rogue in WoW, and just logged on RS for the first time you would obviously say WoW is better because your character is much more advanced. Vice versa.
That being said, it matters which game us better. A way to tell; how many players does WoW have? About 12 million. As for Runescape, about 500k active accounts.

Wow positives: Good graphics, good voice acting, variety in characters and races, quests can be fun, simple and easy to understand. Personal story unique for each race
Negatives: Tedious quests, community treat it like real life.
RS Positives: Free, but with limits, varying quests
RS Negatives: Bad graphics compared to other MMOs, no story, hackers hackers HACKERS!!! Community is not AS bad, but still jerks, magic looks like a bag of skeet -.- I like mages so that hurts

The people who say that they've played RuneScape probably played it 5-10 years ago. You guys don't know know how many times RuneScape upgraded to a clearer and overall better version of itself. Ive played WoW too, but I really see no changes overall. BOTH are repetitive. They both have similar styles in game-play, but it really depends on the person. You would know what I mean if you played them both, unlike all of you who haven't played one or the other. In my opinion, RuneScape is better. :P

In runescape you click on monsters and just keep clicking over and over thats all you do.. i have 99 str 99 attack on runescape and getting them was a pain in the ass. I have two 80s on wow and i had alot more fun getting them up. WoW does get boring at times but so does runescape.. id much rather be playing WoW.

In wow u dont have to do the same thing OVER AND OVER! there is so much variety, places 2 go and things 2 do. From what i can see ur either grinding or doing quests. Now i have 2 agree for me outlands was my most boring places 2 level but it dosent have 2 be. You can get a party 2gether and lvl (much more fun) or do bg's and random dungeons which give go loot and xp. Rs just does not match wow only it's cheaper and has better quests becuase it has so lil of them they take time on them.

I quit ages ago. Yes, I'd like a game that is fun and social. Runescape tests your patience. Being able to socialize increases patience normally. For some people, obviously, it's vice versa. Why play Runescape instead of Club Penguin? Because I enjoy Runescape far more than I enjoy Club Penguin. There's much more to do, for me anyway. If you find Club Penguin more entertaining than Runescape, that's your choice.

wow is MUCH more diverse and larger-based. rs is a bit more relaxed and i think it's easier to be social in it. both games are tedious in different aspects - wow is tedious because many things are repetetive as you go from area to area (dungeons/quests), and rs is repetetive when you try to level (clicking a million times to mine, fish, etc)

The pvp in WoW does suck if u play actual battlegrounds and stuff its really boring and bad. RS also has a terrible pvp. However it is fun to do raids on cities in WoW but other then that its not fun. Graphics are good not great but good. And yes there are too many nerds

Its hard to judge WoW while leveling, the leveling process is kind of slow. When you actually start raiding though the game get better. Best part of WoW is raiding and also. Most new MMOs do copy off WoW in some ways because it is very hard to not copy at least a part since it covers most of the best parts of MMOs. But also when WoW first came out it copied a lot from games like everquest and over the last fer years they have taken some stuff from MMOs also but overall it comes down to ur taste.

The same thing over and over? On runescape you click and watch and click on food or potions every once and a while. The dungeon may be repetitive but the higher level ones are alot more complicated if they gave you dungeons like that at low levels, low levels would get wiped all the time. Joining a dungeon and running as a team thats social boss runs are social you need other people to do almost everything on Wow lol.

for the pvp u probably just suck. pvp is a hundred times better u just have no pvp gear and dont know how to play ur class get good noob
