  • an amazing, uplifting, moving, moving, moving, song

  • such a sincere devotion, when a prayer becomes a song and a song becomes a prayer...

  • Wow, this is totally my favorite of his songs. I love that metaphor: "Rushing wind blow through this temple, blowing out the dust within".

  • God bless Keith Green. Still SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO angry w/you tube. What happened when I got a new computer w/Windows 7????? Cannot hear a whole song

  • RIP Keith Green. I hope you're leading the Lord's choir, and I can't wait to meet you!

  • "Plant me by Your Living Waters, plant me deep so I can know: Jesus, You're The ONE who set my spirit free! Use me Lord, glorify Your Holy Name through me!" "Every day You're drawing closer. Trials come to test my faith, but when all is said and done, Lord, it will be worth the wait!"

  • The first song I ever heard from Keith...I would never trade it with another:)

  • Most High, wonderful mighty God, we thank you for this praise music. Your name be glorified.

    JESUS IS LORD

  • @CorneliusOnTheCob yes..amen amen n my babes loves it toooo

  • If only we would allow the Holy Spirit, the 'Rushing Wind' to really work in our lives for the glory of God...then we would be more Christ-like, the gospel would be proclaimed boldy, Christ would be exalted and those who were called would come to Him to the praise of God. Come fill us Holy Spirit, lead us, wash us and teach us!

  • Thank you for posting! Keith was the first "album" (cassette) someone gave me as a young person, (him and the Gaithers, actually) and It helped me through some tough times. Memories! The Lord gave him such a gift that lives on even today.

  • Some Churches do do this and other songs He wrote!

  • This man of God is Jewish. He became such a believer of Jesus Christ. All of his songs are so inspired by the Holy Spirit. He didn't just step in; he dove in and we are now all blessed by his beautiful voice.

  • I really wished they sung this in church, the conviction of the Holy Spirit would be through the roof

  • God bless Keith Green and increase his rewards in Jesus Name. AMEN

  • lovely

  • still powerful This is really a hymn that is as fresh as it was when it first came out . I am going to lead it as a hymn this morning in worship. People loved Keith or hated him much like Jesus.

  • His songs are marking deep...can't help but cry.

  • Apologies for posting 4 times yesterday- an error message kept coming up...so I was thinking it was not taking. Please remove the other duplicate comments as you would like.

  • How many people do you know that live fully for God...like Enoch of old who walked with Him, by faith (Heb 11), with thankfulness, with all his heart, strength, soul and might? Ketih was like that...both feet in, seeking after God, growing in his love for Him, trusting in Him, obedient to the faith, totally dependent on the Holy Spirit, filled with hope, saturated by His Word and bathed in prayer and covered by the blood of Christ, forgiven and cleansed. Lord God, I want that too .

  • By the faith, love, and obedience of Joshua the spy with the good report says to the world that this AntiChist within Jaeson at 9:42pm BAY AREA GIRL TIME shall forever be called- THE KING OF JUDAH- if Elijah is wrong may we both face certain death together. I'm all-in.. there is no turning back-SELAH

  • By the faith, love, and obedience of Joshua the spy with the good report says to the world that Jezebel at 9:42pm BAY AREA GIRL TIME shall forever be called- THE ROYAL DAUGHTER OF MANASSEH- if Elijah is wrong may we both face certain death together. I'm all-in.. there is no turning back-SELAH

  • By the faith, love, and obedience of Joshua the spy with the good report says to the world that Elijah at 9:42pm shall forever be called- King Joseph of Ephraim- if Elijah is wrong may he face certain death. I'm all-in.. there is no turning back-SELAH

  • The lyrics to this song is so true! This could be sung in churches now. Keith lyrics were on the mark!

  • only a fool says there is no God. you may not understand Him or even believe but ev eryone worships something, wether it be money, self or some other thing. Which is dumber? A person who believes in a God they can't see or someone who gets offended by a God they don't believe in.

  • Wundertoll :) ich hab ehrlich gesagt noch nie wen so gehört der sooooo gefühlvoll und emotional singt...

  • So very sorry that you feel that way..I don't know your name but the Living God does.

And believe it or not but He has great affection for you.

  • Yes, Lord. I say Amen!, and again and again, Amen!

  • Thank you Lord for sending your servant Keith Green, thank you for the music and lyrics you inspired him to write, thank you the voice you gave him, so he could sing praises unto you and encourage us to look to you. Forgive us for our selfishness, our spiritual myopia, our pitiful differences that create huge chasms, our spite. May everyone turn their eyes to you...fall down and worship you. May we all have grateful hearts that grow in deeper love for you and not our petty differences. Amen.

  • I enjoyed the impact of Keith's ministry in 1980 at Washington for Jesus. Much water has flowed under my bridge since then. I now find myself waiting for the Bridegroom (Matthew 25) and needing my oil replenished. True believers are ever in need of the Holy Spirit's refreshing presence. Even though indwelt, we must invite Him to flood our being and more so as we near the Day of our Lord's return.

  • @BILLYZ95993 Amen!

  • I miss Keith Green!

  • I also believe Spritual life is most important of all. If we all lived a righteous(spiritual) life-- in keeping with God's Will-- Our physical lives would be richer ..... for everyone.

  • why argue? just listen and be blessed by an anointed song!

  • Comment removed

  • The Spirits anointing is so powefully on his songs I weep when i hear them. His music is true ministry. The songs are like prayers.

  • @bornfromabove They are about as beautiful as some of David's Psalms.

  • i wish i had Keith's courage to live with total abandon, regardless of how offended others may have been. he just loved God with a total undivided heart. makes me cry to experience his music.....he was a gift to us, albeit short-lived.

  • It's not too late.

  • So true. Keith was devoted to His Lord & Saviour. He wanted to know Christ...and be found by Him. May we have the same passion and love for the Lord as he did ...and many who walked before him and those who will walk after him. Let Christ live in you as you bring Him glory

  • I think it's our spirit, bearing witness to the things we cannot see- and perhaps grieved that we allow those things we can see- get in the way of total surrender.

Imagine how great a King stands behind the veil! He says no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind can comprehend, those things which God has in store for those who love Him!

How different our lives would be if indeed we walked by faith- and not by sight!

  • @jonahsdive for me its not the worry of offending others but the pain and fear of abandoning my self.

  • @jonahsdive You absolutely can! Fall upon your face before God and seek Him for Holy Boldness and a passion for the lost and the work of the Kingdom. Keith was an awesome man of God because of the Awesome God that he let rule in him. God did it for Keith, he will do it for you as well. Amen

  • @jonahsdive - I agree with your sentiment, but Keith might have disagreed with you. He certainly would never have called his own heart 'undivided'. No one has attained perfection, but his life and music continues to inspire others (including myself) to walk away from coldness and bitterness and continue to have faith in Jesus.

  • @jonahsdive If you still want the courage that Keith Green had, put as much faith in Rev 21:8 "But as for the cowardly ... their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.” as you do in John 3:16. Understand that Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil, and that the Truth sets us free from sin. Put as much faith in Christ's ability to enable you to live free of sin, as you do in His ability to save you from death. He calls us to deny ourselves.

  • Someone subject this to a tornado - please.

  • This song gave me the chills the first time I heard it 15 years ago, it still gives me the chills, the words are so powerful!

  • This song gave me the chills the first time I heard it about 15 years ago, it still gives me the chills. Its message is so powerful!

  • Holy Spirit...move in my life, fill me and lead me so that I too might bring you glory and live my your strength...not by my flesh. Let every breathe I breath praise you....for this is why yo made me....made all of us. Rushing wind, blow through this temple

  • Amen.

  • myshkinyt...the fool is "you" since it is god saying the sentence quoted by thatsmslaura2u...in other words its in the bible (book of psalms chapter 14 verse 1) doesnt matter what you belive..if its true and their is a god im sure he will tell you himself when you meet him

  • I totally agree....I LOVE this song! The first time I heard it, I cried like a baby. Keith Green was an amazing artist....too bad the Lord took him home at a young age. But his music lives on.....

  • The "Michals" of this world will always point their accusatory religious fingers at the "Davids" who worship the Lord in wholehearted abandon... Encourage your Dad with the Word (2 Samuel 6)...David established the Kingdom, but Michal remained barren...

  • my dad sang this in church one time, it was great. but now he doesn't sing cause someone made a rude comment to him after the service. :(

  • The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God". Ps 14:1

  • What fool do you mean?

  • @myshkinyt That verse means that it is truly a stupid thing to believe that there is no God. Just because you may believe that there is no God doesn't make Him not real. He is very real and alive. He is God Almighty, Jesus the Christ!

  • I suppose there might be a god, but I've been presented with no good evidence that there is. A thing that has not manifested in experience should not be considered real until it has. Would you say that there is no tooth fairy? Would you say that there is no bigfoot? Or do you believe in unicorns too and everything else that can be imagined?

  • You may not think so. Why can't we belivers just belive? Is it a crime?

  • your comments are offensive. i think you should think seven time seven before doing so... you are a blessing by posting this videos but your comments...? jeopardizing to non-believers and young ones. be wise as serpent, be gentle as dove.

  • Believers CAN just believe - obviously - and it's not a crime. But it does seem kind of silly - an invisible man in the sky that can read our thoughts and do anything and doesn't want us to do ten things (that don't list molesting children, apparently that's ok) and if we do any of the ten things or whatever else he wants, then He'll send us to hell to burn and suffer forever and ever, but it's all because he loves us and wants to be loved by us. How is that not ridiculous?

  • It's not ridiculous mysh because that "invisible man" is a father. A father to all of humanity from every faith. I think anyone would agree that if there is a God he doesn't approve of child molestation. All of this is based on faith but faith for a reason. If God walked into your room now and this is the God as the bible explains him to be . . . you would be overwhelmed. Again if you follow the argument you are following it just for the sake of argument.

  • @nighthawk

    1) So you believe in an invisible father in the sky. You must understand why a rational person would find that weird.

    2) How does anyone know that He doesn't approve of child molestation?

    3) Faith for a reason? Faith for WHAT reason?

  • Mysh only half of my post went up. Not sure what I can fit in here. How do we see child molesters in any society? They are not accepted because they abuse the innocent. You do have to accept on faith that God is the creator or father of the universe. Do you know of any father who would want his child molested. Unless that father is really screwed and or crazy he wouldn't. To accept the premise above though you have to begin with faith.

  • @nighthawk

In the words of your loving Father, "Anyone who is captured will be run through with a sword. Their little children will be dashed to death right before their eyes... For I will stir up the Medes against Babylon, and no amount of silver or gold will buy them off. The attacking armies will shoot down the young people with arrows. They will have no mercy on helpless babies and will show no compassion for the children. (Isaiah 13:15-18 NLT)

  • I"ve struggled with all of what your arguing for mysh. But I don' t know if I've struggled with all of it at the same time. I think you may have me beat. You look at the world and see atoms, neurons and a world that created itself. I understand that ... But that world doesn't feel right to me. I find the complexities of the soul too vast to say the spirit that sculpted "David" or wrote Motzart's "Requiem" is just a bunch of chemicals and DNA swimming in a flesh sack.

  • I see the face of a child and the faith of a friend and I see God. I see the mass murderer and genocide and I fear for the nature of God until I open my heart to that God. He is doing something insane on planet earth. He is giving finite creatures free choice and asking us to love him despite all the chaos we see around us. I've argued with many Christian brothers over the fact that God would encourage the Jews to dash the heads of children on rocks. I wonder at a world ...

  • where a child can be born so hideous and disfigured as to barely be called a human. And yet God asks us to say he is there and to worship Him. Wow the audacity of God. Here comes my faith. In the face of the stark raving absurdity of life my only hope is God. I've had my breaking points where I chose to see a God with a Master Plan. One who will weave together the bloated dying child laying on a blighted African plain with the blessed spirit of a French village that risked ...

  • a masterpiece. From his vantage point God sees the front of the tapestry . . . he sees the masterpiece. Down here on planet earth we see the back and all of it's ugliness. My faith (despite all the ugliness I see) tells me one day I will sit with God and he will show me the front side of the tapestry.

  • believe you'll be able to counter everything I say . . . all I really have is my own personal experience. I feel something . . . I experience something . . . when I think of the heart of Christ. I am given strength to live when I consider the plan that the Bible said was enacted through Christ. IT's a brutal plan to say the least. God allowed his son to be crucified. What kind of God is that? Well that picture alone leaves us with a violent Old Testament, Greek myth type of God....

  • But when we add the picture of Christ's crucifixion to the idea that Christ RESURRECTED then that is different. As a point of faith I believe and have experienced the idea that Christ died and rose again for me. A brutal death followed by a victory. Personally out of defeats and pain I've experienced I count on and believe in Resurrection. I need that idea in my life.

  • of men. It is my faith. Yes this faith can be twisted to justify all sort of human sin. But that is men twisting scripture not God twisting men. Why did God tell the Jews to kill children. My only hope is that when I see him face to face, he will tell me why. Till then I will balance that atrocious act with all the healings Christ did. I will balance that bitter pill and other bitter pills in the Bible with Christ saying: "suffer the little children to come unto me". My faith

  • But your journey is what it is. You will find your way one way or another. I know that I have need. It is an exquisite need I've always felt. I've tried to fill it up with other things, wine, women song. Nothing ever touched that need in a safer . . . more gentle way than the personhood of the Father son and the Holy Ghost. I have a need because I think there is a God shaped hole in all of us. I've chosen what fills me. Many will call it a crutch but it is a crutch that completes me.

  • As far as faith there is a famous premise called the teleological argument. A person walks along the beach and finds a watch. Do they bend over, pick it up and think . . . wow look at this watch, it magically constructed itself from sand, wind and sun around it. No, if you see something as complex as a watch you assume someone created it. How much more complicated is the human mind, soul and body. Did someone create us?

  • @nighthawk

If we stumble upon a watch, we should conclude that some HUMAN created it. We know that humans exist and we know that humans are designers and creators of watches. We also know that humans are designers and creators of books. So when we stumble upon a book, we should conclude that a human created it. I've stumbled upon your Book and that's the conclusion I've drawn.

  • But it is the complexity of the watch that tells us it was created. How much more complex is the human body. Again mysh we may just see things too differently.

  • @nighthawk

You wrote, "But it is the complexity of the watch that tells us it was created. How much more complex is the human body."

Well, it turns out that not all complexity needs a designer.

  • As far as that invisible father in the sky men smarter and more educated than you and I believed in Him. C.S. Lewis, William Shakespeare even Einstein believed there was some sort of Creator. Out of Billions of planets and galaxy we puny humans have never run into another intelligent, sentient beings. It strikes me as a little odd that vast empires have risen and fallen on just this planet. Why only us in an eternity of planets? Maybe we are special, created out of love by Someone special.

  • @Nighthawk

Men smarter and more educated than me have been wrong. People smarter and more educated than both of us have rejected the claim that there is a God.

  • You got it all wrong. God does not send anyone to hell because we don't do the ten commandments. WE send ourselves to hell because we are sinners. We disobey a Holy God and hell is a just punishment for ALL of us. Should not a mass murderer be put to death? We ALL have done far worse to God because He is 100% Holy. We would all go to Hell, but because he loves us He himself died and resurrected to take away the punishment of Hell if we believe that Jesus is God and what he did on the Cross....

  • The #1 commandment is to love the Lord with all your heart, mind, and soul. NO ONE has done that so we all deserve Hell. It makes perfect sense. The greatest crime deserves the greatest punishment - hell. I wouldn't want to love and worship a God who lets even a little sin "slip by."

Also, in looking back at that commandment, molesting a child is not honoring God so yes it is a sin.

  • @AshJesus

You wrote, "Also, in looking back at that commandment, molesting a child is not honoring God so yes it is a sin."

If God didn't want us to molest children, then why wouldn't he just say so? Why would he imply it with a statement which makes no mention of children at all. If I thought that God wanted me to murder children, there would be nothing in the commandment to honor God that would dissuade me. In fact, I could easily justify that doing what he wanted WOULD honor him.

  • @myshkinyt Any sin is dishonoring God. God's second greatest commandment is to love others. Would molesting children be considered as loving them? I think not.

  • @AshJesus

You wrote, "Any sin is dishonoring God. God's second greatest commandment is to love others. Would molesting children be considered as loving them?"

How about killing them? Would killing children be loving them? Probably not, but God has ordered HIs followers to kill children. God has commanded His followers to stone children to death. How about a commandment, thou shall not stone children to death? That would have been an improvement to God's Holy Book.

  • @AshJesus

So we are to gage the severity of our transgressions by comparing them to the infinite holiness of God? Then why not gage the severity of our punishment by comparing it to the infinite bliss of heaven? Why not conclude that, while hell is infinitely bad when comparing it to heaven, it's actually no worse than this world in which we live? Or perhaps a few notches, or even a hundred notches, better?

  • @myshkinyt Heaven is blissful BECAUSE of Jesus. Without God being there heaven would be the most empty place and I would not want to go there despite the streets of gold and never going hungry or never dying.

  • @AshJesus

WE send ourselves to hell by rejecting an unlikely hypothesis?! WE send ourselves to hell for using the mental faculties that have led us to modern medicine and technology? WE send ourselves to hell by using the brain that you believe your God gave us?!

  • @myshkinyt We send ourselves to hell for the crimes we committed against God.

  • @AshJesus

You wrote, "We send ourselves to hell for the crimes we committed against God."

    What crimes do you mean?

  • The crimes of disobeying God. Wouldn't you agree that crimes must be punished? Would crimes against God be any different? Crimes against God would be more so punishable. Crimes against an infinite God must have an infinite punishment. Only the perfect blood of Jesus can atone for that punishment.

  • @myshkinyt Also, why do you see God as an "unlikely hypothesis"? I think that we coming from monkeys is much more unbelievable if you ask me. How do we go from not having a soul or brains to a soul and the most powerful brains in all of nature?

  • I also think that our coming from monkeys is unbelievable and so do evolutionary biologists. The biologists would came that humans and monkeys share a common ancestor. But of course if we go back far enough, humans also share a common ancestor with slugs.

  • @AshJesus

You wrote, "We would all go to Hell, but because he loves us He himself died and resurrected to take away the punishment of Hell if we believe that Jesus is God and what he did on the Cross...."

Ok, so your God can do anything, right? Why go through this strange elaborate scheme? Why not just snap his fingers. Wait, does your God have fingers?

  • @myshkinyt There must be justice fo rthe crime we committed against God. If he just snapped his fingers there would not be justice.

  • @myshkinyt There's a reason they call God the "Father." If you have kids, you want the best for them, and it really hurts you when they disobey your wishes because you meant them for your child's benefit. At the same time, you don't want to take away their freedom. You want them to love and obey you of their own free will. God made parental love as a symbol and a sample of what His own love is like. The suffering he endures when you rebuke him is like being turned upon by your own child.

  • @chiefevil45

Some people have to find out the hard way.

  • @chiefevil45 that's funny because even satan believes and trembles

  • @kutka7 Very sad, when you experience the anointing, if you do, it will be hard for you to even draw breath in the presence of Almighty God. Bless you!!!

  • @chiefevil45

    In some places Yes...

In fact that is how Jesus died; as a criminal.

  • @myshkinyt maybe not in your life. can u convince me?

  • @myshkinyt y not?

  • @learningtoolean why not what??

  • @myshkinyt

One day you'll know there is a God; I pray it's not after you die.

  • @myshkinyt Yes there is and you know it. A fool saith in his heart there is no God. His proof is all around you. Please do not deny it until you die. Thats not the end of the story. Every knee will bow and every Tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Its black or white, Darkness or light. The most beautiful thing is that you have free will. God is calling you. Dont be a dishonest doubter!

  • @myshkinyt You are right, there is no God. Just man that came from magical fairy dust that managed to explode from a mass that has no scientific reason for existence, to magically create a perfectly aligned world, just the perfect distance from a star, to create a single cell organism that through the magic of mutation, created man as we know him in just a few billion years. Ya, your version is sooo much easier to believe lol peace bro, keep walking through life with your eyes closed!

  • @mywgac10 I don't agree that man and the universe came from magical fairy dust. Nor do I agree that mutation is magic. And I think you are the one believing in magic and walking through life with your eyes closed to the evidence in favor of modern cosmology and the theory of evolution.

  • this helped me get my breakthrough

  • thx my jewish christian brother, keith....u used ur talent well...u left us way 2 early but who r we 2 question what God's plans r...we r not guaranteed the next breath we take...this is probably my favorite of his songs....luv & see u in heaven one day...
