i never used a wall to practice.. a few years ago i just started doing them when i was bored and now im too the point where i can balance and walk on my hands until they hurt.
I recommend to watch a tutorial on how to walk on hands at first...In that environment, you could just fall on your back and hurt yourself if you don't know how to fall correctly.
what about the way u breath while doing this b/c i have the urge to hold my breath while thinkin about tryin it and im sure u shouldnt hold ur breath the whole way down
Just keep practicing on the wall! Eventually it'll come. Its something that can take months to find your balance. Consistency with practice is very important!
@strengthproject thanks for the advice, but to be honest ive been practicing on the wall for ages (atleast a year) not consistantly but now and then i start doing hanstand push ups and stuff (against a wall) as part of my calisthenics workout. but when i try it freely i find myself falling over. ive tried alot of things, just yesterday i put a coin down and tried focusing on it, and suprisingly it worked pretty well, but i think the longest i balanced for was like 5 secs.
@ESCAPEDCONVICT01 yeah man just practice alot the handstand comes to you the more u do it.a nice didint think of that for stairs gonna try it now next time i pass by stairs i can go down small ramps but this tutorial helped me now.nice man
@ESCAPEDCONVICT01 In addition to technique, you need to build up the strength not just in your arms, but your wrists, shoulders, back, and abdominal muscles. It doesn't seem obvious, but your shoulders are only loosely attached to your torso with connective tissue and muscles. You've spent your whole life walking on legs building up the strength to walk on them, so it takes time to do the same for handstands. Like Arash said, put in the wall time, practice technique, and it will come!
