I think he wont run away. When youre spotted with that facemask on, he wants to look at you instead of run away like if you were wearing young snake mask.

@TriedToFartAndUhOh Because in the cutscene intro of Act 3, Akiba being an idiot makes the PMC add young snake's face to their watch list. So if you go around as either Old Snake or Young Snake the soldiers recognize you and go ape. If you wear any other Face Camo, be it Octopus, Otacon, Campbell etc., they don't recognize you and treat you like a regular civilian, letting you just walk by them with no problem if you don't have a weapon out.

Well, Japanese letters are learnt from Chinese letters (History problem)
