i feel like crying because before i turned 13 even though i have not had any sexual relations with anyone and still haven't now, i was harassed as a child just because i started growing much quicker than others and as jill stated i had thickness. i looked like a grown woman by the age of 9 and was being called fat and all this crap. i decided to be thankful for all the things that God has blessed me with.don't have sex cause your friends r. save ur innocence plz
Wish these rump shakers in some of the other video could listen to this. wish I could respond to the video called Walmart-Mr.Ghetto "New Orleans Bounce" Summer 2011.
I just do not know how to upload this video in response to their nasty abuse of females video. The girls are nasty too and need guidance.
this song is so true and real. suntimes i ask myself how women can put themselves down like this... Men will always misuse the inferior thinking of women, i mean even women do. such thinking developes at child age and is soo sad.
She’s been degraded, exploited, NOT celebrated,Saturated with self hatred,Cause every time she turns on the TV,What does she see, big ol' booty,And it don’t have nothing to do with the song,
I know this vid was made over 2 years ago, but I'm so glad i found this slice of real. I'm so glad my mama taught me modesty. How to be a woman...a sexy woman at that, and still keep the modesty. I've been 5'7 with a woman's body since I was 9 (I'll be 22 in a month). So many young women AND men need to hear and watch this video.
Thats the whole point of the song @ MrMirKuja shes sayin we need to teach our young girls that they are worth more than just their body and their looks. Therefore they wont just accept anything and go for everything LOVE WHO YOU ARE AS A PERSON NOT WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE AS A FEMALE OF COLOR !!!!
LOL @ everyone commenting on men and rappers, listen if women don't let us guys do those things to them then we couldn't so both sides are to blame. No one is holding guns to these womens heads telling them to act a certain way. If you wanna act like a ho, expect to be treated like one.
It's amazing how what you see on the tv, supposedly Rap, and as well as R&B videos are the same things that are defining the generation of our young people.
They identify themselves in it....
and what we have initially allowed the media to show as programs......
It has continued to shape this generation more each day......
It has come to the point where tough love, values, and old fashion ways may be difficult to established in these times.........
I wish the full version of this song was on this video. When she performed this, Jill explained the reason for writing this...I would highly reccomend my fellow Jill fans to buy her live album- Experience: Jill Scott 826+ You will NOT be dissapointed. I put it up there with Erykah Badu's live album.
This song makes me cry, I can't even finish the video. Men don't know how low it makes a woman feel when she is treated like a piece of meat on the street and the people around just laugh at it or think its cute. I was sexually harassed and humiliated for not talking to grown ass men when I was 10 years old, all because I had the "thickness". And I wasn't even degrading myself like the females in this video.
wow. this video really hit a cord. As much as people try to rationalise video girls....at the end of the day, these rap stars are degrading women. more so we start to think that such behaviour is acceptable and now even when people go clubbing hey act like them video girls. men need to really start celebrating women in a positive way.
This video is amazing. It's the truth. Comming from a mans point of view, Those women that degrate thereselves for a little shine need to elevate to a higher level of respect for themselves. Those women are the ones making the others look so bad. Im an artist, but one thing i will not do is have almost naked women in my upcomming videos shakin their ass. My mother would not appreciate that, my sisters either. Theres a better way to make it in life, disrespecting your self is not the way.
the first time I heard the song was in college my freshman year that was five years ago but my friend (best friend) was like: I got something I want you to hear by jill scott its real and I was like put it on and I was like wow...
this video goes with this poem... it shows you really how we degrad ourselves... because girls dont know until that watch this and see for themselves and say to themselves this is what im doing...I need to stop and have respect for myself because if I dont who will.... good job to whomever made this video
Thank You...The first time I heard this was on her live album and it shook me to the core because I was driving through my old neighborhood and the song just came to life.
i can't even describe this vid
