Dude, I'm a huge Spacey fan, but this ad is annoying. It's like they have a 40mm lens up in his face. Too wide, so his face looks distorted and fat. And his lips are all dry. What's up with this?
it's nice to see KEVIN in adverts ( i am sure his presence boosts sales) but ( there's always a but(t) i watched closely and his lips were dry they zoomed in on him showing him over natural ...or was that the ideea ?
Kevin says: I don't wanna be the camera guy", so he is saying in other words: this is not for serious photography.
Moreover, the ad is making fun of professional photographers, you know Mr. Super zipper. This is the first time a camera manufacturer is making fun of professionals.
You see, my point is that Kevin is a great actor, but the guys behind these ads are not smart. If you buy the camera because of his acting and not because of the image quality then thats your business.
To illiterate Americans; Kevin in this ad says: "Camera Ciao", not "Camera Chow". It's Italian. He means by that "Hello camera". This is an ad made for the UK market, so it's understandable little army of G. W. Bushes cannot get it.
This is not a compact that has the features of an SLR; it doesnt even have the very basic feature of any SLR : The View Finder. So with this camera you have to shoot like other point and shoot cameras. In another ad, Kevin says: Point and shoot is a crime, stay a way from point and shooting. What a contradiction!
I know that you can ad the crappy digital viewfinder, but then the camera is not even a compact any more.
Some of the best togs in the world shoot on the Canon G10 and G11, And use the screen to shoot.... They make millions and are admired by thousands....
They managed to get Kevin Spacey - which couldn't have been cheap/easy, and then they made him stand under a hideous bright light and talk a load of bollocks? 'camera chow picture wow' - RUBBISH. x

It doesn't matter how you spell chow, its not an English word, and even Italy is spelt differently in Italian language, you have no point of view.

'Camera Chow Picture Wow' !!! Thats not what professionals want. Maybe this would have been a good ad for a compact not an SLR.
watchfuleye1000 2 years ago
it is a compact.
the whole point of the advert is to advertise that it is a compact that has the features of an SLR. did you even watch the advert retard?

I love Kevin Spacey, but this and the other Olympus ad are the worst ads I have ever seen for any product.
Whoever came up with these advertisements needs to find another job.

YOu are absolutely right, and guess what? Sale of the olympus Pen camera is slow despite it being a good camera, the advert is just whack!
