@stophiemeister Not that people aren't entitled to their own opinions, but how can you possibly not like the vocals? Not only are they amazing in this particular song, but if you listen to a lot more of their music, especially live, he's got an amazing voice and vocal range that not many singers have. Such as in Flash Delirium (look up the SNL one), at the end. And then he can go from a quiet falsetto to a really powerful style.
@stophiemeister oh ok, I saw some of your videos and thought you might be from here in Florida... nice Pink Floyd song you have there Cymbaline(?) - hadn't heard it before - which album is it on??
@stophiemeister Yeah sorry I got a little defensive. Yes, I do love Syd's vocals, but I also feel like the way Andrew sings this is really good. If you'd like to hear more good stuff by them, I'd first recommend Siberian Breaks.
this is absolutly brilliant , syd barrett would be pleased with this, im a massive barrett fan hes my best singer ever and watching this im just thinking what it would of been like watching him live doing this
@AntelopeButtons same here mate, good to see theres other people who idolizes him like i do, just cant get enough of his records and hoping that one day they will find loads of unreleased recordings of him haha, that would rule
@AntelopeButtons So you have actually heard Syd Barrett do this song live? Please post it, because it does not exist.
Thanks MGMT for doing a faithful version. If this was like Wish You Were Here or us / Then, I would have wanted them to deviate, but since this song is never done live, i like the straightfoward cover. GREAT JOB
@AntelopeButtons I'm sure you wouldn't be saying that if you actually knew what great musicians and songwriters MGMT are. Of course we all love Pink Floyd, they're incredible, but do you see any other modern bands where every member is a multi-instrumentalist and they all play drums? The lead guitarist plays glockenspiel and sax. The drummer is a kick-ass bassist. The lead singer plays guitar, drums, bass, keyboard, harmonica, and electric sitar, and probably even more.
@igmq3f32 Marfan Syndrome has varying characteristic, one of which is elongated limbs, but also, and more seriously, it affects the heart valves and aorta. Just FYI.
its Bradford Cox aka Atlas Sound from the band Deerhunter. he is dressed up as Joey Ramone as a gimmick i suppose. they both have Marifan syndrome which makes the limbs much longer.
@UselessInfo101 got bored towards the end and just grabbed the nearest thing to move around... you can probably see me holding a pillow to block out light during the recording - there is a much better recording here on youtube... but not with a "floating"cd! ha ha ha

@jjpme92un I know, I watched it the series, I guess. I just don't like cover songs; especially on songs that I thoroughly enjoy.
