thnks for this memory whoever posted it... we played this when i was like 7 or 8 on camping trips.. when i got send to Afghan we always played it again our own camping trips in a different kinda way....
he got a lil white stuff under his nose..his bumper sticker reads "my other car went up my nose" ahahaha.. still like his music he was supposed to play in tc michigan but he really didnt have two tickets to paradice. sorry so corney.
@mopedman17 I think that's light reflecting off his perspiration. He did break a sweat on that stage. It's deservedly so. He's a hard-working musician.
@mr2del an amazin musician i agree i was just jokin. still wish i would have got to see him live..i hear he is still doing shows but i wasent born earily enough to really see him in his prime.. .. and i mean no disrespect to eddie money. great music
Man, I just realized that the way that Eddie dressed was way ahead of his time. I mean, you see people dressed like that nowadays... But I've never seen anyone else dressed like that in the '70s. Just an observation....
@mrhomerbojangles Nobody worked harder or sacrificed more to be a rock singer than Eddie Money ! His story is amazing ! He once did a concert in a Park right outside my back door..in 1978..what a treat !!
I just woke up to the fact that I had the lyrics wrong all these years.
I thought "is it true you think they things are lies now think about it baby" I thought were "is it true you think they things I LACK" 'cause lack rhymes with (behind my) BACK.
Eddie Money......wow, live singing one if his greatest songs in countdown and real good. What is he doing nowadays? When i hear Eddie, then am thinking of The Babys, Gary Wright, Bosz Scaggs etc. Albums of Bands which my oldest brother bought which i really digged. Later i get into blues, jazz, funk and soul but i still love these musicians and bands from way back a lot. Time is flying. Music stays.
Early in his r&r career, Eddie was really something and a pretty amazing singer. Great to see some footage from that time w/ the great Jimmy Lyons on guitar. Thanks for posting this.
Those eyes are to die for! :D Thanks for posting this most excellent video!!! Any more hanging around? I just saw him this past July in Santa Cruz and got to meet him which was a dream come true! Too bad I didn't get to meet him 20 years ago though! :D 5 stars is not enough!
@verysparkly Man you can never get enough of Eddy Money and thanks for the video. What a great song .. he wrote it too (or at least the lyrics to most of his songs). He's got enough charisma for 10 overrated rock stars of half his talent..
I saw the money man last night in concert at a small venue, that wasnt sold out. awesome nonetheless. eddie's a pimp. i've never seen such a cougar convention.
Hey diuga1.. this song is from the album 'Eddie Money' released in 1977.. it was a big hit here, in Australia, in 1978. The show I took this from, Countdown, was repeating it in 1982 but that date holds no significance to this song.
Lonnie Turner played the live bass line differently here than on the album. On the studio version Limmy Lyon stayed on the D while the bass played the harmony. In the live version the guitar adds the D sus instead of the bass harmony. I remember seeing them in SF in '79 playing it a bit more like the studio version. Still, a pretty tight rendition, and Jimmy Lyon and Lonnie Turner are gods!
I just love this song it brings back such great memories of a carefree youth, growing up in Australia, great music

You've been sayin' about me
Behind my back
Is it true you might want a better life
Is it true you think
These things are lies, now
think about it baby
I'm gonna take you to the top
I just woke up to the fact that I had the lyrics wrong all these years.

B/T the chorus and verse yes. in the main parts its like 2 hits, then three hits. (too long to write out breaks and quarters ect.)
so it sounds weird.
boon-boon.........bo-bon-boon.
its a game on rests.
if that helps?
