  • Hey. I believe I have a 7th generation iPod classic (a.k.a the late 2009 model). Will this tutorial still work for a 7G?

  • Are the songs or videos inside the ipod will be missing after the replacement of batteries?thanks

  • @rockinfetus916 - I don't think so because this is just for the battery and shouldn't affect the hard drive. So all songs/videos should still be intact. But i'm not 100% because I haven't fixed mine yet. I am going to attempt this in a few days. I'll let you know if it worked ok If I remember. Cheers.

  • @maidenslayer ok thanks!

  • @rockinfetus916 - I fitted a new battery to my 80gb classic. The worst part about fitting a new one is getting the back off. This video makes it look easy. Trust me it isn't. I had to get it apart with a knife. I've done it though and my ipod is still working but now with a better battery so yep, for me a success.

  • @maidenslayer congratulations! im going to do that too next year..Wish me luck, hehe

  • thanks for the vid post, its the best one on here for fixing battery

  • help me please. I'm no good at fixing things. The battery on my ipod 6th gen classic 80GB died and I went on ebay and bought a new battery and tools. Tried to fix it and I broke the little prongs holding the bottom right connector in place. I take it this means I need a whole new motherboard? Would it be worth it for me to send it in to you guys to fix? I could just as easily buy a refurbished one for $150, but I'm the kind of guy who'd rather fix this and maybe give it away someday.

  • @wellesradio Hello, we can either repair this part for you or if it cannot be repaired we can install a new logic board. A new board would be around $115.00 so that would be your worst case scenario. Please visit our website and use our diagnostic service option to mail it in if you like. Thanks for contacting us.

  • Thats really helpful. Many Thanks

  • do all of the classics have the same battery?

im gonna get the classic 3rd gen.
