Great memories! Used to work at Nantgarw coke ovens and until the early eighties could see (and HEAR) the trains of mineral empties tacking the Big Hill with 2 x37s up front bound for Taff Merthyr, Deep Navigation, Penallta, etc etc. Great days when we as a nation used to actually produce materials and make things from them. Glad I was born when I was and worked when I did!
