  • Thank you,SlamDS!

  • When I watch this, I'm amazed to see how far film has come in a little over 100 years. This makes me appreciate the films we have now, as well as old films. Just think, if it wasn't for the people who made this film and other silent films, we might not have features like we do today, these people helped develop what films are now. So before you go talking shit, learn to appreciate this for what it is. Pure art.

  • Today celebrating the anniversary 105 of this mega film :D

  • When you see these films projected at the correct speed, with all the scratches digitally cleaned, you realise they stand up almost as well now as when they were made. Sure, there aren't any cuts (because the language of film hadn't been invented yet, and nobody knew if the audience would accept cuts) and the acting is broad, stage style, but I would watch the whole thing.

  • Kate Kelly was hot

  • Judging by these fragments, this was a very good film.

  • From this to Avatar.

  • 1:15 - needs "Do yer feel lucky, copper?" for a title card.

  • Actually a lot of historians believe that Ned's mother knocked the gun from the policeman's hand with a shovel and injured him. The policeman was embarrassed and said the injury was done by Ned.

  • Ned Kelly's helmet is so bizzare for the time he was alive :P

  • thanks heaps for posting this. It"s radical.:)))

  • Did anyone else notice they use real guns with live ammunition? They would never allow that nowadays.

  • Part of this film was filmed in Mitcham a suburb I grew up in.Yes they did ban all bushranger films so we had to put up with American westerns

  • @stvart003n Er... no. As I wrote in the description, it was filmed just outside Melbourne, Australia (where it was also set).

  • @SlamDunkStudios oops sorry my mistake. was looking 4 one thing and it took me to this bit of footage.

  • @SlamDunkStudios sorry my mistake :(

  • the world's first ever feature film is pretty impressive

  • i love u nedd

  • @bu11com the fuck did you expect you fucking dickhead? Transformers? This was made when the art form was fresh and new, before Hollywood got its money grubbing greedy claws into it and pretentious half wit actors diluted the art with their words and their worry over a marketable image as opposed to really telling a story. The Actors in this movie had to tell the story with just their body language and i think they did a DAMB FINE JOB

  • @MrMandingus HAHAHHA but just so you know Hollywood had its hands in movies from the start. But I know what you mean.

  • they banned this movie because of bushranger content

  • A fantastic piece of cinema history. You Bewdy Aus. Sure glad they didn't have academy awards though.

  • Danke schön...

  • great movie
