  • 3:20

  • 5:15 LOL

  • That Italian girl is hot, err, I mean, splendid research - This reminds me a lot of the Xerox Park stuff from the 70s that became Mackintosh and Windows.

  • Doesn't the Mimio do this?

  • press 5 and 7

  • even harder ... OMG .. THIS IS GOOD ! BITCHWANTS COCK ! :D

  • EPIC

  • THIS IS JUST AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

  • THIS IS JUST AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WTF!

  • Thx for the pen through the vid.

  • Time well spent...Keep up!!!

  • haha at 5:19 does he say damn? haha that looked funny

  • lol "even harder?! this is good"

  • women prefer buzzing pen more... wonder why...

  • JAJAJAJA 4:28 WHAT WAS ON HER MIND~!!!!!! WHATCHA YOU GUYS THINK

  • Excellent

  • "What does it feel like?"

    "It feels like voting."

    XD

  • jackhamma

  • you are a genius :D

  • Lol, "It feels like voting"

  • The woman in the white top looks like Gareth from The Office.

  • Haha: "Oh, I like that one. Can I buzz harder?"

  • IT FEELS LIKE VOTING.

  • Whats next a stabbing simulator ?.......

  • Comment removed

  • Hahah the women loved the force buzz!

  • Lol @ it feels like voting.

My question is would be wouldn't a "hard click" ruin the screen or something?

  • Johnny lee, in as little words as possible: Make. a. console. Call it the J-station or something. xD

  • Comment removed

  • So many things wrong with their reactions lol....

  • Man, I want that one. Well also I'd need a projector for it to be useful, right?

  • that's pretty cool

  • That cracked me up !!

  • That cracked me up !!

  • interesting. have you guys come up with any more applications for this? Oh and for some reason i got excited then annoyed during the part with the oscilloscope when the waveforms made me think of impulse responses. random

  • it sounds like a dildo ROFL!!

  • 4:53 ROFLMAO

  • 4:21 its like a bad porno reel

  • 2 things: 1)the pen has a sensitive-pressure tip?? so, it "micro-moves"?? and 2) the screen when he press the buttons, what its made of? it could break...

  • @yarcek

    1) yes the tip moves a little, but the simulation makes the pen feel like it is moving more than the it actually is moving. Again, they are "simulating" movement via feedback.

    2) That was not a screen. It was an image projected onto a table.

  • if you look at his other videos they have ways of projecting make-shift touchscreens on tons of different surfaces. a desk, a whiteboard, wall, computer screen/monitor. so breaking the screen wouldn't be an issue there.

  • 4:29 OMG LOL

  • I could see practical uses of the haptic pen for handicapped people. sensory feedback is more than useful, for some it is mandatory.

  • The harder setting, won't be dangerous for the screen?

The buzz setting, kinda useful for tatoo training (no joking)

  • can i buzz harder?

  • DUde =))) that's why i came to youtube and HAD to comment on this, but saw your comment... i think she might want to take it home... you know... if it buzzes harder ;)

  • It feels like voting!!!!!!! lol best line

  • they sound liek their from Mass

  • "IT FEELS LIKE VOTING" rofl

  • i dont understand why this is not on the market right now.

  • whats the point of it?

  • to make the screens he also makes seem more real as he first showed you with the program where he clicked a virtual button and the pen reacted to that single button. he pretty much explained it..... next time turn up your volume and listen to what people say in the videos you watch....

  • you should test it with people using the pen on the screen with the buttons...like you used it...that would blow their minds...what you made them test it's not that impressive to a person, but using it with the screen it would make the screen come alive

  • EXACTLY! The whole point is that you are pressing buttons which you know are all just images but the experience of pressing them FEELS different because because the pen knows where it is on the screen. With what they've done, its like if you designed a system where touching different buttons would produce different noises and then to test it all you did was played the sound of a bell or a dog barking to the cast of "Good Will Hunting" and asked, "What dose that sound like?"

  • use the buzz one as new vibrator technology!

  • lol (great minds think alike)

  • "Sounds like a little mini jack hammer." lol, It was so funny that the all liked the one that vibrated :P Not one of the best videos but interesting like always.

  • "feels like voting"ahahahahahaha

  • I could see this being used in assisted living devices for the blind. You could have an LCD screen with a braille-like feel to the buttons on that screen (on an ATM, for example). If you could create some sort of pulse-alphabet that translates these vibrations into a description of what the button does, you would emulate the tactile feedback that braille provides. Anyway, I love your videos! Keep up the good work!

  • i was going to suggest in some form of industrial setup, where you use a monitor and the pen instead of a larger bench of dials and controls...the varing pressure could be used for say, the stop button being harder to push then the normal buttons, to advoid accidental setting off.

  • EVERYONE WANTS TO BUZZ!!

  • I needed to see the examples to get why that concept's interesting, but yes it does open many possibilities... Nice job guys :)

  • lol pause at 0:16 great face!

    but cool vid

  • LOL!! Just like japanese anime!

  • that girl on the wite sweeter had an orgazm

  • where do you work so I can buy stock in it?

  • "Can I buzz harder?!"

Sorry, I just can't help my filthy imagination. >_>

  • Hahaha i noticed that one too xD

  • I like this one a whole lot!

  • 5:15-5:21 is hilarious if you loop it over and over!!! gets funnier every time

  • LOL @ 4:30 that girl is hilarous

after she goes "can i buzz harder?" ahahaa

  • That is pretty awsome!

You know what you should do? (keep in mind I don't even know if this would work) but the very tiny vibrations caused by a pen or pencil going across a peice of paper i'm pretty sure would register on the accelerometer, so you could make it feel like you were writing on paper.

  • you can do some 3D sculpting on a 2D surface with this invention

  • This reminds me of an old story.

When the U.S. and the U.S.S.R. were starting the space programs, they both had to tackle the problem of using a pen in zero gravity. The U.S. spent millions of dollars and tons of research man hours to make a pen that could write upside down...

    The Russians used a pencil

  • It's just a joke.

They both use pencil when they start the space programs, but pencil is inflammable, and broken pencil pieces may cause damage to spaceman and machines,so U.S. bought Fisher space pen(AG-7) in 1968,and U.S.S.R bought it too in 1969.

  • Just look at those chicks faces lighting up when that thing starts vibrating! :)

  • These kinds of technologies are the future of many industries... though the example seems simplistic and without purpose, it demonstrates the ability to virtualize surfaces.

This technology can allow a doctor operating a precise robotic arm to feel changes on the operating surface, allow remote vehicle operators to have realistic feedback on their steering implements, graphics applications, or it could even be used as a video game implement.

  • This is the dildo of the future

  • @yatah Thats a pretty small dildo....

  • a true, plain inventor

  • lol!

    pointless, but brilliant!

  • veiws: 3 bajillion

  • you should be on featured vids

  • Very interesting design.

Maybe the buzzer could be adapted for use in graphic applications, to simulate pressure, or as a musical interface to simulate plucked or stroked strings and even wind-instruments such as a saxophone or flute.

  • i like buzz and forced buzz

  • he could use that to simulate touch in a virtual world

so you feel more like you're in a virtual world

i mean if he can do that, he could get you to feel textures and stuff as well without it actually being there :P

  • Next step: Dentist drill simulation... how does that feel?

  • AMAZING thats all there is to say

  • could you prehaps use this with an interactive whiteboard?

  • Hah but don't push too hard with the force buzz or you'll punch through it O_o :).

  • ...and the point of that was.....

  • whats the catch? Where you planning to use this tech.?

  • you know how to excite the ladies...

  • Hahahaha. Great job!

I'd love to give this a test run some day.

  • that's pretty crazy.

  • "whats it feel like?.....Feels like voting!"

    cool vid

  • at 4:37... she's wondering if she can take it home with her.

  • 5 solenoids on the fingertips of a glove. That's the next step.

  • so wats dat pen for??

  • cant spell anything right now... haha

  • OR, chain it with a light sensory system, so the system knows what commands Its activating via. the light from the hologram. (Open, close, move/slide etc.) But, this Is only theoretic still. If you invent a hologram interface, let me know - bevause I wanna say I have spooked to the inventor :D

  • To make this work concerning holograms, then u have to make a system that does not relie on psychic pressure, but relies on wind pressure. Then you map the environment into scalemodels and use a feedback system like in the Nintendo Wii - now you can do the things, u see in "Minority Report" with that Scientology dude (hehe)

  • what would be the application to this science.

  • games,, touch computer screens, "hologram" or "projected screens"

  • kinda agree with you there...maybe we just not thinking hard enuff

  • Good job, looks really good.

  • They REALLY like the buzzing ones... c_c

  • hmm i wonder what your implying :)

  • what the...??? feels like voting. ahah. he has mad jokes!

  • What does he mean by "it feels like voting"?

  • I'd say... try it lol

  • He means the older ballots where you use a hole puncher to make your vote.

  • I love the woman in the white turtlenecks accent.

  • cool to see how engaged they are in this experiment! :-p great stuff!

  • what's the application?

  • So they had no visual stimulation at all, right? If they were that impressed with just the pen pressure, I'm sure it would have blown there minds to see virtual buttons being pressed.

  • YOU must be high

  • :( wha?

  • Nice job.

I liked the girl in the stiped shirt. She was funny because she didn't know what was going to happen.

  • man you are very intelligent

  • sorry for this weird question, but are you chinese?

  • "It feels like voting..." hahaha, thats a classic quote, that guy's quite funny.

  • looks like a vibrator:)

  • *looks at pen, then presses down hard* i like this one ALOT!

  • *Buzzes for a second* "I like this one A LOT" lol

  • Feels like voting.

  • "I like that one [...] can I buzz harder ?"

    [cough , cough]

  • I was thinking the exact same thing.

  • It feels like voting!

  • asians are awesome

  • yeah, dude... they're the new blax

next thing you know, you'll have whiteboys wearing glasses, playing chess and sucking at driving...

THEY ARE AWESOME... specially the ladies xD

  • pressure censor with feel effect. it looks like playing a game with your controller in vibrate. is it not?

still why would you need something like that tho?

  • this could simply be used by children who are esily stimulated by the way things feel and look.

Also it would be hugely helpful for blind folk to start using touch screen as they dont need to see wat they are pressing. just simply feel what button is what.

  • Those girls were really digging the last three settings...

  • hahahaha

  • Hahah, exactly! But hey, what can one do with a perv / semi-realistic set of mind then to think "the obvious"?

  • why does the one guy stand? FEAR of some crazy chair inventions -.^ ?

  • Very Good Work!!

If you could attach this to the fingers of a glove, you could "feel" the buttons at your fingers.

  • This is awesome. I wish that other stuff that claims to have "haptic" response actually was as convincing as this is. Some phones claim they have it but all they do is vibrate a little, not feel like they actually click. Once again I am amazed at your talents.

  • I know, right?! A simple solenoid would be so much more convincing than a buzzer. The only problem is that the haptic feedback wouldn't be localized and would therefore feel unnatural.

  • pretty damn impressive

  • what does it feel like? VOTING!

  • that guy was awesome

  • LOL!

  • INNOVADOR

  • Ok, wow. This is the type of brilliant innovation that needs to happen! This, along with all the other RAD stuff this guy has done, is what drives the future. Little things that, quite honestly, are useless now can find their way into normal, everyday use in the future. I have to say, you guys are awesome. And I WANT MY HAPTIC PEN! Keep up the innovation!

  • Dont give a Fuc What you guys wanna Bitch About

    But RESPEC

    Johnny Lee'

    He Da Mann

  • This is terrific research. I hope they keep it up.

  • At 4:32. She likes it buzzing....HMMMMM?!

  • All of the videos you have are amazing. The technology you show is like that of the future, but is completely obtainable today.

Why didn't computer and gaming companies get these ideas first!? You put them to shame. I'll wait for the day I can do all of this stuff!

  • "what does it feel like...*beep* uhhh...it feels like VOTING!!!"

  • I like this one a LOT. xD That guy cracks me up.

  • interesting O_O

  • It simulates haptic feedback.

    Your sense of touch, meatbag.

Just one more step to "virtual reality".

Though, I have to say... it's one thing to be dumb.

It's another to be dumb and arrogant.

  • LOL

  • Ok dude... =_= you seem to be very bright and have done your homework. Funny that you can't see that it was Just a joke >_>

I really respect and appreciate Jonny Lee's projects and I love his videos. Don't you come and tell me who's dumb and arrogant. You should think twice before you decides to insult someone like that. I had no bad intentions posting the last comment nor the intention of mocking this fine project of his.

    Peace out.

  • A joke... how? It felt more like a dumb, arrogant poke at Johnny Lee's expense.

And yes, I did think twice. I even checked my grammar twice. As should you if you're trying to "insult" me.

Look at how many negative you got, see any on my comment?

    Meatbag.

  • First of all, there's nothing wrong with my grammar and I didn't try to INSULT you. But you seem to have some issues with insulting others and "meatbag" also seems to be your favorite word. Really childish if you ask me.

As for the negatives, it seems that other people didn't find that funny so if I could, I'd delete that comment.

  • Now why does my grammar concern you? No one told you to laugh or whine. And I am going to ignore your childish fantasies, "meatbag", "self-inflatable head".

As I can see you really have issues with your attitude, I'm not "shit" and you should find a better hobby than scprapping shit off walls. I already apologized to Johnny for the comment and I'm done discussing this with you. Why bother pouring oil in the fire? What do you want? It's enough, ok?

  • Ah, counted "only" One mean thing on your latest comment. You're improving! Gratz!

And you're right, I'm pulling my hand back and hope this ends here.
