@Robysommo I am just wondering and english is also not my native language but i always understood this as "put your defenses/insecurities down". The song to me is about someone that is struggling to start a relationship with a very insecure and/or shy person, maybe someone that is doubting they together can work so this person keeps running from something serious with him... sorry my english, i hope it makes any sense :)

@Robysommo "tie the cover to the ground" has no deep or significant meaning and it's not a slang term that I have ever heard myself. A lot of Per's English sounds a bit 'foreign' and a bit odd to an English speaker, especially his earlier work.

I saw Roxette live in Copenhagen on Friday 22nd of July!!! Free concert at the Tivoli Gardens and this was the only song I missed from their playlist. They are amazing still even after all the bad things that has happened to Marie in the past!!! AMAZING!
