@Canonjac i never said wow had great graphics, the graphics are fine though... but i don't play wow anymore, this game doesn't have GREAT graphics either... they are good but not great... i don't play wow and people think i am defending it so jump on the insult wagon. lol.... and you just said the game looks 10x better than wow... well maybe you just like the art style more. a lot of textures are blurry in rift... but the game is just like wow... so if not amazing graphics.. what does it have?
@bjib18 I'll make a list of reasons I like rift more than wow.
1) The graphics are a lot more realistic. By this i mean when my mage is holding a book he is actually holding it where as in wow if my priest had a book it would be like overlapping with his hand and shit.
2) The pvp system seems more refined and crisp. Warfronts don't drag out into long tedious matches like battlegrounds do.
@bjib18 4) The rifts add a whole new aspect. The enviroments actually react to one another. If a rift spawns in an area with monsters the monsters will actually attack the rift to defend their territory. Once i had 3 tree ents (who are hostile) actually help me take down a rift.
5) Armour in rift is actually armour and not just coloured skin. Most armour in wow doesn't have any depth to it its just perfectly flat onto the body which looks stupid. For example every chest is like this and legs.
@Canonjac i agree bout the armor... the way blizz recycles the models is ridiculous... even when they do create new armor styles they copy it and make 10 different versions of the same skin slightly different color... while rifts are cool... i don't think they add enough to the game.. i do like the new talent changes... but pretty soon there will be standards for everything just like in wow... where if you don't have this spec your a noob...

@duckcurry100 Any. The game engine is pretty good and runs smoothly. I personally play on the lower settings and find it smoothly. I have 2.1Ghz CPU, 4gb ram and an ATI series 4200. Of course the game looks worse than the video but it runs good.
to all wow players considering changing to another mmorpg, Rift does the work. im an x of the horde warlock and checked out this game, and i gotta say its much more ways to build an character in rift then in wow, in wow your char is boxed in to a certain specc but in rift you can build your char in a much greater way and there is a lot of other good stuff thats good to explore:D my rating of wow 3/5 rift 4/5 aion -1/+5

@ExiledRagged except rift.... Look at the LEGITIMATE account subs During Headstart Preorder. Now look at the account subs 2 weeks into official launch. Then go and compare WoW's launch and Rifts. Rift wins. Within the first two weeks Rift has a 1/5th of "WoW"s total subscribers. Lets also not forget that Blizzard has been publicly called out for fudging their LEGITIMATE account subscriber numbers.

Thanks for the video. Game looks good, I like how they allow custom ui right out of the gate. Hope they flesh out all the small little details like sound effect, character animations, etc. Also hope they put in a bunch of fun little things like jokes, dancing, in game toys, just fun things to lighten it up a bit.
Hopefully this game doesn't follow the popular pattern of overhype, attempted wow killer, population fall, server merges, fail. It looks fantastic but then again so did a good amount of those other mmos that ended up just not cutting it.
u gotta pay to play. Rift events are sick pvp is good. Played about every mmorpg u can think of. This is by far the best one i have had a chance to play. have to throw a wow sucks in here too
@x1xpopex1x that actually looks more like the blood elf starting zone.... and yes this games looks awesome but i was in 4 of the betas and gameplay-wise i still think wow is better, this can offer alot more content, but this is still beta it can change. and dont forget, wow's base code was made almost 7 years ago, this is being done for little more than a year

@SaintMitchell The problems comes when half of rifts population actually do run back to WoW, and the rest of us are stuck seing 1-5 persons a week in the game. It happened to Warhammer, it happened to AOC, I fear it will happen here too.

It's funny to see how many people come telling this is a ripoff from WoW and such comments.. You obviously NEVER played any other mmo pre WoW, have you? Ever heard of Daoc, EQ, UO - Or talking about lore, ever heard of Warhammer?
And even so, if it actually WAS ripoff from WoW, what's so bad with it?
Do you actually jump on BMW, Ford, Opel etc. when they create a new car, telling them "OMG YOU RIPPED OFF KARL BENZ IDEA!!!" ?

Thanks for the video. Game looks good, I like how they allow custom ui right out of the gate. Hope they flesh out all the small little details like sound effect, character animations, etc. Also hope they put in a bunch of fun little things like jokes, dancing, in game toys, just fun things to lighten it up a bit.

Hopefully this game doesn't follow the popular pattern of overhype, attempted wow killer, population fall, server merges, fail. It looks fantastic but then again so did a good amount of those other mmos that ended up just not cutting it.
