@fireguardiancoty Yes, my bad but it doesn't really matter to me what it is because I'm not that interested in this version of the game. It's a shame they don't really improve the game as much as they could even on a better system. I suppose they are too lazy.
@lavos333 Actually, PSP version is best. Not only does it have everything in the PSX version, but it has voice acting, redone character models, and a grade shop.
I didn't use Arche any in the final fights, because if she gets hit, she has to fly all the way up in the air before she will cast. But with Claus, you don't. And, I had Pluto.
The PSP verion is based on the PSX version but has a lot more. Its prettier, has some summons placed differently. The sprites are also by far the best of the ports/remakes. I'm waiting for a translation for the PSP version as the PSX has already been fan translated.
It's possible to beat the ENTIRE GAME on a character other than Cress. Once I got Arche, I started playing as her because it was boring being Cress. I've beaten Dhaos three times playing as Arche with Cress, Claus and Mint on my team. I let Cress do what he wanted and only commanded him when he refused to be smart. I think it's easier to beat him without playing as Cress because I dig strategy RPGs over action RPGs. It's kinda boring looking at the command screen near all the time, though...

The SNES version remains the one most well-known by RPG players, simply because it was the only version in English for the longest time. The GBA version had a bad official translation, so I hear. The PSX version had a translation finished last Christmas by a group called Absolute Zero.
Pluto makes this battle easier, but if you're going No Klarth/Arche root, you should really have Suzu in there using Hell Blades since it doesn't hault actions giving, Dhaos it a chance to . Alternatively, you can have Chester spam Eagle Shot and have Cless use Chaos Lunge(Teleport Soul Blade), and then use Hell Blades. That's just me though.

but he is right.. I mean, the thing hardly fights back at all. He could have done without -MINT-. compare this to what the fight was like in the snes version: not all that difficult in general, but the snes boss actually did give the appearance of fighting back. This guy is worse than pathetic by comparison.
I don't like the tiger combo blast because there is a delay when Cless starts the swings and after the 8th one, Cless is can't do anything for a good second or so. These delays give plenty of chances for Dhaos to get hits in.
Gah! Hikaru needs assistance! I fought this form of Dhaos and a while after I hacked his arm off, Klarth and Arche's spells STOPPED WORKING! AHHHH! Is this a temporary effect, or what?
This is probably due to Dhaos' hide/invincibility move. He will be immune to all attacks and it sucks that the GBA version gives no indication at all when he's invincible. Try using the Pluto summon if you have it, since all those flames will wait until he gets out of invincibility and hit him.
Well, the jump and attack move is slower to execute and the hit range is smaller than spamming kogahazan/tiger blade. It is still doable, but a bit riskier in my opinion to use the jump and attack.
Wow, you pwnt Dhaos. Heh, I love Fighting of the Spirit, I recently got ToP on the GBA and how I love hearing it again, eve though it sounds all .midi-ish.
Have you ever learned the command Guard? It should be very usefull! Anyway, I know that this boss is hard... It's to me the hardest boss of the game
About the music, I know it's there on ToP and ToS, bu I have the feeling that this music is also there on every other Tales of... But... I guess you know that it's my favorite music from Tales of Symphonia! =O...
Ah yes, Guard. Since this was on normal mode, I wanted to have more of a challenge so I didn't use it. I also thought of my own challenge as a time attack to see how fast this group could bring him down.
It should be. The summon battle music in ToS (Fighting of the Spirit) is a remix of ToP's Fighting of the Spirit ;). My favorite version of this song is the version in the SNES/SFC version of Tales of Phantasia.

you know about chaining, right? you should do something like tiger blade -> lightning tiger blast -> tiger combo blast, then :P
