I drove a small 1988 pick up truck to the store last time. I hope to finally rid myself of it this week and I wish I could trade it for Kewet Buddy. That's be sweet. A Th!nk City would be even nicer but we don't have these here yet either. I have promised myself I won't buy a brand new car unless it's 100% electric.
I will strongly reccomend an electric car! Good for your wallet and the enviroment at the same time ;-). If you wait a couple of years there will be many more models to chose from.
My Buddy is a bit primitve - and is actually a "4 wheel electric motorcycle" - but does a great job!
In the uk it is common to spend an hour driving 6 miles to work repeat the process then go for exercise - in london many areas have cars parked all week then occasional use at weekends - Central London is full of 4x4s
Unfortunately the "environment"has come to be a catch phrase and is used indiscriminatly - the phrase should be think..
