  • @SuperRshunter its a .50 cal muzzleloader not like a freakin .50 cal sniper

  • @beastlyepicness what is a .50 cal sniper?......people dont know shit about firearms!.......you mean a gun chambered for the .50bmg cartridge.....the standard grain weight of the bullet in a .50bmg is around 700 grains....the grain weight of a .50roundball is around 150 grains....then there are conical bullets for muzzle loaders which increases ballistic performance...then there are the other smokeless .50 cal's like the .50ae,.50 beowulf ect....all of which are inferior to the .50bmg.

  • hey is it true that muzzleloaders sometimes misfire from cold weather? what can i do to avoid misfires

  • @AImosTskater44 I was taught to keep misfires from happening in winter, you have to keep the muzzleloader in the cold temp. Ex: You go out muzzleloader hunting in the winter the temp is cold, meaning the gun is cold, right? When you leave to go home, you bring the gun into the warm house with you. What happens? Condensation. I was told if you keep bringing the gun in and out of the house, the gunpowder will get wet and will misfire. Keep the gun in a garage/shed to avoid misfires. I do.

  • @AImosTskater44 believe it or not condoms work awsome over the barrel to keep snow and water out of the barrel and i found that snow in the barrel can really screw up your shot also if i hunt more then 2 or 3 days in the cold i just fire the shot and clean my gun becuase black powder is very corrosive in the older barrles

  • @snowmofrk13 Yah right, like a guy is gonna walk around the woods with a condom over the end of his gun...??? Keep the muzzle down and don't stick it in snow problem solved. You don't need to fire and reload your gun, unfired powder is not corrosive you can leave it loaded for a long time with no bad effects and it don't affect the accuracy either.

  • @snowmofrk13 you know what works even better, a finger cut off of a latex glove! Dry as a bone (no lube), and cheap because you can use all the fingers of the glove!

  • What no rack? It sure is great to see someone harvest a deer for the real reason we should be hunting in the first place-for the meat. One who kills for the sport ofit has an ego problem and should not be in possesion of a firearm but maybe a golf club instead.Bragging about the kill and its rack is unethical, but then they will justify their sport by "donating"the meat while patting themselves on the back.

  • so hows that ball compare to a sabot cause i perfer to shoot thompson center XTP sabot jacketed hollow point

  • how the hell did you miss kinda looked like he was pretty close

  • WTF 50 cal. against deer....i think it is too big caliber..i will never use that..

i do not know to someone use 50 cal. on deer hunting season..

  • @SuperRshunter dude its a black powder .50 and .45 are really common for black powder dear rifles

  • @SuperRshunter That's cause you have aids.

  • nice my dad has a thompson center hawken and with the iron sights its dead on up to 100 yards but he doesnt use a round ball

  • amazing animals. hit me with a fast movin hunk of lead and ill drop right ware i was standing.

  • @ididcramsmom- u sound gay to me also. fag

  • @TeamRealtreeHunting lmfao...his comment was removed. You wouldn't happen to remember what the fool said do you?? I was looking, saw it removed...just curious

  • T/C Hawkens huh? A good shooter, I got one in bad shape (previous owner) they sure do kick. Nice shooting, and the difference between patched ball and the .50 cal round isnt the kick!

  • awsome

  • I have a T/C new englander

  • Great shot!

  • yes sir!!! NICE

  • nice job!!

  • Great patience on that slob doe!!!! I would have gotten excited and prob pulled the trigger sooner, Testament to the hunter! Great harvest!!! I just bet she was a bitch to drag out of there, Hopefully the four wheeler is just outside the camera shot. LOL

  • No, it is a .50 cal not 50. Cal.

    Uses a .490 round ball.

  • man to many people playing "call of duty" trying to talk guns. Its a 50. cal MUZZLELOADER

  • These people are stupid....haha they dont know the difference between .50 cal muzzleloader ball and .50 cal bullet....they play too much call of duty or something

  • @pbkA5 You sound like a know it all. Most folks ofcourse dont know about 50 cal muzzleloader. Thats why they troll through on youtube. Calling folks stupid just makes you sound arrogant. You probably never served in the Army either, mountain folk with computers. What has this world come to now.....

  • @raguspag55 you sound pretty fake...and im not from the mountains buddy...your stupid yourself.....dont try to act like you know it all asshole

  • @pbkA5 Since you started talkinga bout fake, you probably dont know what a muzzleloader is. What a 209 primer is or about .50 caliber bullets. But since your just looking to sound intelligent, hope to find you in the woods and fart on ya!

    Keep your gun up!

  • is that missed ? the deer run away dude ?

  • @ghaibboy a bullet rarely drops a deer or any other animal instantly.yeah he shot her though.

  • @TheDaniel13761 cool :-o

  • was that the sound of your lock at 0;18.? to cock hammer without making any noise... when your gun is pointing in a safe direction..&.uncocked...

    1. squeese the trigger & hold

2.pull back the hammer with your thumb & hold

3 then slowly take your finger of the trigger..

you have cocked your hammer in total silence ...no mecanical click, to spook game...

with practice you can do this in one fluid movement ...PR ACTICE THIS ONLY WHEN THE MUZZLE IS POINTING IN A SAFE DIRECTION....

  • nice shot and hunt

  • nice i love to muzzleloader hunt and shotgun and bow.. and now im sad the season is over haha =[ nice hunt

  • nice shot got a hawkins for christmass going to use it next season for our wisconsin muzzleloader season it is 54. cal though looks like you guys are in wisconsin

  • nice shot and nice video im 15 and i have been hunting since i was 4.. i love it and a turkey or a cyote or a deer gets my blood pumping!

  • Good on ya for using a real muzzleloader--and a flintlock at that. So sad that the hypertech has turned a traditional, challenging hunt into a technological arms race. I've shot whitetails through the heart with a modern centerfire and had them run 100 yards.

  • @EcoRover if you have a problem with "modern" guns maybe you should take up hunting with a spear. That would be considered traditional challenging hunting.

  • Nice to see someone still shooting a sidelock and a patched ball. I'm restoring a T/C Hawken at the moment. Most of the folks around here have gone to the inlines. They make some long shots. I still like to use the primitive weapon during muzzleloading season. Always wanted to try a flintlock in the woods. Anyway, great hunt and nice shot. Thanks for the video.

  • @yoshimurazx14 Primitive is using a spear. I shoot a 30-06 semiauto.High Tech.

Muzzloader is muzzloader , regardless if its "high tech" - haha or sidelock.

Its still single shot , muzzle load.

  • @raguspag55 Of course you are correct my friend. I guess I was referring to doing it old school, where you measure ur powder instead of dropping preformed pellets down the barrel, use pillow ticking for a patch and round ball. I have friends shooting the inlines. With the massive powder loads those guns can handle combined with a scope and modern projectile they are making some truly amazing shots. Don't mean any disrespect to the folks who shoot them. ...keep ur powder dry

  • That thing should have gone down right away... I mean 50 cals a huge bullet, and that wasn't a big deer... Yeah where did you hit it?

  • .50 cal patched round ball from a muzzleloader is far different than what you are talking about. It's in the description...

  • Oh... haha, didn't read that, played the typical youtuber role. For sure, totally different.

  • @tlclum I shot a doe with a ML 2 years ago with iron sights.. I thought I had missed and hit the cedar tree behind her.. As I shot the the doe calmly bounced off.. so after about 5 minutes I went to go investigate and I had indeed hit the doe the bullet went through and penetrated the cedar tree.. There was a huge blood trail that of a horror film, chased about 200 yards until it collapsed.. Had to drag her back to the truck with knee deep snow.. not cool.. but they amaze you no doubt. nice shot

  • @juanjo322 Ive seen a deer go down in one shot , when you shoot it in the neck

right above the shoulders , the spine breaks and it falls instantly

  • @raguspag55 I normally go for neck shots, for some reason I didn't do it that time.. We preserve as much meat as possible as we love deer meat... Going to get me a ML though these things are fun to shoot.. :)

  • @PelicanGreed You do not understand the concept of a 50 cal, blackpowder round, in either an Inline, like i shoot or the patch and ball that TLC used. Im sure that you are thinking of the 50 cal military centerfire cartridge that travels at upwards of 3500 fps and can easily be used to disable vehicles! However a 50 cal black powder does inflict massive damage and although the video cut out, i dont imagine that doe made it much further! It was a big mature doe, GREAT HARVEST!

  • @PelicanGreed 50 cal muzzloader round is about the size of a dime maybe allite smaller

  • @PelicanGreed ya ur thinkin of the 50 cal rifle thats illegal in california, caliber does not mean the overall size, just size around

  • @PelicanGreed a 50 BMG and a 50 muzzellaod bullet are 2 way differnet things. one is a self contained round (power, bullet, and primmer all in one) the otehr you have to load liek teh cilal war luskets (thwos were 64 cal) this in teh video is MUTCH slower.. slower = less power

looked liek he hit her down low in the center chest. did that with my m1 garand, but a little higher and the doe floped over instantly. shot i nthe heat they can still run a good 200 yards!

  • very nice. good shot.

Shot a spike buck this morning w/CVA .50 - load was a 240xtp on 90gr Pyrodex. hit where it was supposed to, deer went about three feet straight down (then inconsiderately fell into a ravine)

  • NICE!!!

  • I have been hunting deer for about 30 years and have killed 36 deer both bucks and does. Even after all these years, the sight of this beautiful doe still gets me fired up. Nice shot and nice video!

  • ahhh,,, sweet sweet backstrap

  • man i can't believe she came in that close!! i bet that was exciting, especially for the 50 cal

  • To recap on my recent observation on hunting, I must now say that was a pretty good shot. She didn't get very far, did she?

Where can I get one of those rifles?

  • Cabela's or if you want a new in-line you can easily purchase one from walmart for 100-300 dollars depending on what you want on it.

  • Damn, man! I already got the point. And why do you feel so compelled to insult me just over a simply ignorant comment?! Jesus Christ!

  • You know I'm really suprised the doe didn't take off after the second noise...Good work! I can't wait to go try muzzleloading!

  • Yummy !! I can taste the jerky already... !!!

  • @gregme1970 lol

  • Comment removed

  • You obviously dont know the first thing about wildlife conservation.

  • yes you can

  • of course you are suppose to. why do you think you get more doe tags than buck. and eathir way it is just as good eating

  • No :D

  • shoot already.

  • dude guns in games r difrent OK?? u just dont line up the scope u have to do calculations in order to take da shot, take it from me a former Marine Sniper

  • hellfire2110,You obviously know very little about guns. Stop playing Call OF duty so much! LMAO

  • CoD is the shittest game ever...

It's also completely unrealistic cuz the Barret in that can be used like a semi-automatic machine gun

  • lol a semi automatic machine gun? ROFL!!

    a machine gun is something like a mg42 or a m60

machine guns are used for continous fire

so semi auto would make it useless lol

  • THATS BECAUSE THE BARRETT IS SEMI AUTOMATIC DRRRRRrr

  • I also suggest front shoulder, usually shatters it and/or hits a lung or the heart. that deer wont be going far.

  • HOW CAN YOU MISS ? :D

  • a .50 cal muzzle loader is different than a military round. it looks more like a very large pistol round and travels at a lower velocity.

in this case the guy was using just an old fashioned lead ball

trust me if he shot a deer with a .50 cal military grade round, you would know. . . lets just say the deer wouldn't be in one piece

  • even if your state does not require it i would take a hunters education course through the DNR or the 4-h. if you have never hunted before, you really learn alot from it.

as for deer the best shot is the chest where the heart and lungs are located. i would hunt with someone experienced if it is your first time.

and i would also talk to someone about the pros and cons of deer slug and buck shot rounds

  • right in the front shoulder, or where ever you you can get a good shot

  • Vitals. Dont aimt for the head, it moves the most... and dont aim for the guts... for obvious reasons lol

  • nice shot she got up to run but didnt go very far she probably died within 20 seconds

  • yea hunting in wisconsin sucked this year

  • great video

  • i also hunt in wisconsin this year was a bummer i might go out this weekend with the muzzleloader

  • i muzzle hunt with a tc triump i had to get the reciver and i got a kill with it last weeken right in the neck

  • *deer walking* hunter says hey deer stops BOOOM!! dead doe

  • Sneaky bastard...I like the "heh!" you did right before you shot. Nice video.

  • TC ENCORE RIGHT?

  • No, TC Hawken

  • i just got one of them yesterday it is the best thing i ve ever seen

  • @bf3pwner , Good thing you killed it. It was a vicious looking Doe. About to pounce! Does are like that. You are lucky to be alive!

  • ive always wanted to muzzle loader hunt

  • Cool lil vid, and pretty good footage. I bet that was exciting. Congrats, a real good lookin doe! *****

  • I thought they had to have antlers to shoot

  • no only in some states

  • and certain seasons

  • Its been a while since I watched your vids, nice shot man! I have TC rifle myself but its a break action.
