Cyclists are lame in gat.park , yield to cars please. Every summer its the same thing over and over again, cyclists all over the middle of the road in Gat.Park some of them getting hit by cars and they wonder why.. ill tell you its because your in the middle of the lane on a curved road and cars coming 60+ behind you in the curve dont see you LOL. then POW your getting bumphuked by a bumper and eating pavement LOL. get the city to make a cyclist lane on the side PEACE!
@leafsfan234 "well your a dumbass" *You're* is the word you were looking for :P But to be honest i am far from being a dumbass as you say, although i hate the Gatineau Park cyclists, i respect their right to be there. The dumbasses in this case are in fact the cyclists themselves, not yielding to cars, staying in the middle of the road going like 20kph while 3 cars are following them... its even common to see some of them going down the wrong side of the road.
@Jeedawg Not that common actually. I'm there very often sir...I yell at stupid cyclists all the time. They are making the situation dangerous for drivers and cyclists a like. As I said in my post above; the park is not an easy bike ride and requires great skill and focus.

Banter aside; people smoking marijuana are in cars not bikes and that is just plain stupid. I'm all for the green, but not while driving at the speeds and skill level required just to cooperate with the cars on a bike. I'd like to see some of the drivers ride my bike safer in the same situation; it isn't happening I guarantee it.
The distance from the gate at Gamelin is 18 km (going up Black lake hill) so from Champlain bridge (Quebec shore) would be 25 km. If your a good cyclist about 1 hour. Two main climbs are Pink Lake (1.4 km 7% max and then Black Lake - starting at Mulvihill Lake 1.6 km 7% steady).
Pink 1.5 km and Black 1.8 km and bit steeper. Are you from Ottawa or perhaps Toronto?
