Thank God for the internet and the Lymes disease advocates. In 2001 my son was diagnosed after going to the hospital three times with pneumonia after I REQUESTED they test him for Lymes. I took him to Dr. Horowitz in Hyde Park NY and he saved his life. He had swollen joints in his knees and it was affecting him neurologically. He was on 3000mgs of Amoxycyllin and a combination of standardized chinese meds including allicin for over a year.

People don't care about what doesn't affect them, and policians don't care because they can get whatever medical care when they need it and do not want to tick off various special interest groups. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do internet research on using SEA SALT for curing Lyme. I had it for seven months before I was diagnosed, and doxycycline only made me sicker. I took a shot of about 1/2 teaspoon of RAW SEA SALT in a small amount of water, and in only hours I felt better than I had in months! I took doxycycline for acute Lyme and am increasingly debilitated almost 7 years later. Have experienced parasthesias, stiff neck, vertigo, seizures, convulsions, joint pain, diplopia (double vision), blurry vision, heart inflammation, increased intracranial pressure, etc....I think they should offer amoxicillin for acute Lyme disease instead of doxycycline. Leading Lyme researcher Sam Donta states amoxicillin is equally efficacious as doxycycline for Lyme disease.

The FDA only bans Lyme treatments if they are proven to work or shown as benificial to easing pain or suffering.

If a treatment DOES NOT WORK or has shown to be a detriment to Lyme sufferers, the FDA will likely approve it.

In other words, as a general rule, whatever treatment the FDA bans, you can rest assured it probably works.

Why is this? The FDA is controlled by former Execs from the Pharmaceutical Industry and good ol' boy dirty deals occour in favor of whats profitable, not what works.

"LLMD"'s won't take indigent patients, so I'm told. ILADS Dr. Martz was featured on ABC News in Colorado Springs a few years ago, said he was diagnosed w/ALS but figured it was Lymes, cured himself with 6 months IV ceftriaxone. I went to his clinic but was told they cannot afford to take indigent (poor) patients, that they don't even take insurance. Must be cash. ABC News wouldn't do a story on me though. A homeless man w/Lymes denied IV abx all over the country.

Doxy crosses the blood brain barrier. Leading Lyme researcher, Sam Donta,(and who appears to be pro-antibiotic) said he isn't certain Lyme spirochette *ever* crosses the BBB. So why so severe an antibiotic as doxy when amoxicillin is sufficient enough to kill the spirochette (but doesn't cross the BBB nearly as much as doxy)? MS is described as a disease of the BBB. Connection to antibiotics causing these auto-immune diseases since they're in experimental stage with sending them across BBB?
