Omega and Gamma are completely different.

Gamma was driven by heart and soul. And freedom. he sought to liberate himself and his brothers from the opression caused by eggman. He made the biggest sacrifice of all to complete this.

Omega was driven by revenge and vengeance. He sought to destory eggman for leaving him and abandoning him. especially when he ought to create machines better than him (shadow androids). Omega is systematic and still machine. He does what his mission entails.

I dont think people really got the ending. Infact, if you think about it, the ending was kinda happy. Gamma and both Beta we're realsed from their metal prisons, both now birds, and happily reuinted with birdie as a family of 3. Ist not sad, its happy.

The ending is up to opinion. If you really want to see it as a happy ending, you can say that Gamma was just flicky controlling a robot suit that causes some havoc for Eggman and then frees itself along with the Beta flicky.

But as far as people like me are concerned, Gamma is NOT a flicky and was his own (a being who was developing into a robot that could care). And in the end, that being only lived for a day before dying for the sake of the flicky inside it.

i completely agree with you eeveefan. i do not know what happened that made sega create all of these hedgehogs and unwanted characters. in my opinion these are the best sonic games:

the original sonic trilogy(1,2,3&knuckles)

sonic cd, 3dblast, the sonic adventures, and sonic rush part 1. those games captured the core of sonic games which was SPEED, and a character with ATTITUDE. No deep storyline except whith the adventure series. Please Yuji.

Technically, Gamma NEVER really DIED. Like mfregien said, the bird that was trapped inside the metal shell was "Gamma" all along and was freed was it self-destructed. The animal inside was safely able to fly off with its mate, which was inside Beta, and its child.

Also, Gamma came back in Sonic Battle...but it was a completely different Gamma since he had been completely rebuilt. As a result, he remembered nothing from Sonic Adventure. This is pointed out when Gamma meets Amy again.

Something I think a LOT of people don't realize is Gamma isn't really dead. If you payed attention you'd notice that SHE became a flicky(those stupid animals you free from capsules and machines).So she isn't dead and is living a happy life somewhere with beta.

I did see Gamma in Sonic Adventure 2 but he was a normal enemy, not a boss. And also on Sonic Shuffle then after I think that was when they stopped using him. Gamma was a cool character but they probably had plan for other characters too and Gamma may be quite hard to make and colour in the gaps. Although they should put Gamma into a new Sonic game!

In Sonic Adventure, all the Robots looked just like Gamma. The robot you saw was also much weaker than Gamma. He was just a regular robot, and not Gamma. Though if they brought Gamma back, that would be nice.
