I absolutely love your playing, Jen. I'm just not a big fan of Hammond organists fussing over constantly switching their Leslie speeds; it's distracting and doesn't necessarily add anything to the song they're playing.
This is the kind of music that I was raised on. God has blessed you with a wonderful talent that you can bless others with. That sound reminds me of many a old fashioned tent meetings that my parents used to take us to. Not many of those around anymore. I could listen to music like this for hours. God bless you.
I love your playing so much. I play a Hammond A100 at the church I attend. Where can I get a Tremolo like you have on the one that you are playing? Judy Cleckler
@Leeviten And we all wonder why there are so little a number of young people in our churches today? It's cuz of petty minded people like you who think tradition is more important than the purpose of church itself and more important than Jesus. Tune into REALITY FM.
Jen, I am a born again Spirit filled Christian. My dad was an Assembly of God preacher for 63 years before he passed away. I love the Gospel of the Hammond organ. Do you remember an Evangelist from Beaumont, Texas by the name of Bob Bryson? They called him Mr. 10 fingers of the Hammond and the world wanted him to play for the world and not God. He traveling preacher friend was Kenny Foreman.

Def---one of my favorites. Jennifer demonstrates a type of "command" with these chords. hmmm, just needs a bit of interjection with another keyboard, for a 'fresh' breath
You play alot like the pianist in our church. She's been playing there for around 50 years. She's now 95 and still plays. WHAT A BLESSING YOU ARE. I am going to that city. Praise God !.
You are a gifted player. Your music is very soothing. I too have a Hammond (C3) with the original JR20 speaker and a Leslie 300. My organ is 51 years old and I simply can't think of putting holes anywhere in her to mount switches. I velcroed a foot switch onto the top of my volume pedal and eliminated all "clicking' sounds or any visible indication of using the Leslie...a real distraction to me. Just a thought. Knightsix
I have always loved the sound of the Hammond organ. I get so tired of keyboards in almost every church service. Bring back the soothing sound of this type music. It's beautiful.
Thank you so much. I would never stop listening. ORGANISTS AND PIANO PLAYERS IN CHURCHES, please remember the peace inspired by this song. Indeed Worship and Praise Music.
WOW! You just don't hear music like this anymore!! I miss going to chruch so much! But most the churches around here have fallen by the wayside! YOu just keep up the good work hun! God has blessed you with a beautiful talent! I want to post some of my playing but My cam has the WORST quality!
Have you ever considered making a CD with you playing all these wonderful hymns on your hammond organ.
Oh man this is so beautiful, it is bringing tears to my eyes. thank you sooooo much for playing for the Lord. He has blessed you with an azaing talen.
Hi Sister Jen, God has really blessed you with a talent! Don't ever stop playing your Hammond! It's such a pleasure just to listen to you play the organ! Remember: "The Hammond Tonewheel Organ is GOD'S Harmonica".
Thanks for sharing this. What memories it brings back. My Grandpa loved this song and I actually was able to sing it in his memory at his "Coming Home" service.
I was privileged to hear a great and Dear friend "Jerry McKinney" play this song on my Hammond CV, while talking to Paul Allen, He told Paul that this was his Dad's song Paul's Dad was the late Rev A. A. Allen!
@tharris01: Hammand organs offer tremendous tonal range which can be altered by the drawbars (above the keyboard) as well as vibrato effects from the rotating (Leslie) speakers and volume pedal. Too many players of 'popular' music yank the drawbars so much it's a distraction. The 'click' you hear is from her Leslie control switch causing the rotating speaker to speed up or slow down. Just a thought. Knightsix

Why do you keep chaning the settings on the Organ?? I dont know anything about Organs, is that something that common to do while playing?
tharris01 4 years ago 2
This is a common practice with hammond organs with a leslie speaker. All she is doing is changing speeds on the leslie.
