  • i bought this when i saw her play at the wirrana centre in peterboro' at the national mod meet i think? 1985 or so. derwent was there with the rage as well. was her band the brothers called the wayout? they did some good tunes in their own right.

  • Footnote. Both Eleanor and Making Time were booked to do a Mod charity concert in the midlands back in the day. The midlands were Makin Times home turf yet they failed to show but Eleanor turned up and did gig. She also failed to disown her mod following when offered a major record deal. So more respect is due her. Maybe thats why she now has over 75,000 plays and ten of thousands of fans on her myspace. Enough said.

  • Your right she was no Fay Hallam. Much better looking than Fay for starters. Also I noted when It came to the Mod Aid single 'All or nothing' It was Eleanor who was chosen to do lead vocals along with Steve Marriott not Fay Hallam. Guess this says something. I was actually a big fan of Making Time and Fay and it may interested you to know they Eleanor and Fay both rated each other and had mutural respect for each other.

The 1995 track still sells everyday on 7" so still popular.

  • Didn't she do a track with the chorus 'will anyone survive to '95.. 1995...'!!!

The Mod revival pinup. Oh dear.... she was no Fay Hallam as a singer was she?

  • I love er.

  • THe video was made in the infancy of pop videos and a number of technical problems and littles hitlers at certain locations where the video was yo be shot meant lots more of Eleanor just singing featured in one place was used than was supposed to. Little bit of insight there. It was proud to be mod though. The record as many have said is still a classic Mod single.

  • This video now Celebrates its 25th anniversary this years so should sound like a product of its time but to Mods that sound is still relevant.

  • @darkdukeuk

Too true, I have this 7" tucked away somewhere, still got a classic sound... even if the vid leaves a bit to be desired. ;-)

  • The song starts sounding a bit dated but it still has nice listenable sound as the tune progresses.

  • I think the going rate for 7" at moment with condom & sticker and signed is about £20-£25.

  • got this on 7" and autographed........any offers upwards of a thousand quid?

  • To me one of the best songs from the 80s mod period! The video is absolutely great!

  • The single came with free condom.... I sadly still have mine.....

  • mutherf##**r..! She's a cutie and obviously a genius who played us all! ...designed to break hearts and spit out fun little ditties. Never heard of her til today and I'm hooked. hope she's alive and well and enjoying the attention she still gets and deserves. I think I would have been a huge fan had i only heard one song of hers. I'm gonna be checking her out big-time. ..it's gonna be a while before those shots of her in that white see-through thing stop playing over and over again in my mind.

  • thee original modette sad she went missing

  • wicked lol makes me feel old ,,,fook i am lol

  • I saw here live in the 8Ts in Germany at the Okie-Dokie and back than I thought she was a laugh, but listening to the song now I think it`s much better then I remembered it.

  • Great

  • My band played with her on the same allnighter, back in the middle of the eighties on an allnighter at the "Okie Dokie" in Neuss, Germany. I had some conversation with her and she seemed to be very far from that "dirty" as what the young puberty-mod-crowd-boys dreamed about her. She was very nice and gentle.

  • I'd almost forgotten about this!

    Thanks for putting this up!

  • PERFECT, thank you big time my friend

been a while seen i saw the girl i had such a crush on as a puppy mod down carnaby I thank you

and linked your vid to one of mine

called They don't know - Tracey ullman, the only other I had a crush on as a pup

    off to sub and befriend

    ***** faved

    Long Live Mod

  • cool.

  • She had a great voice and was a really nice person.I enjoyed drumming for ER for a fair bit of the 80`s thing including a fabulous tour of Germany and Austria where we met some great people. She did indeed disappear, but I would love to hear from her again should she read this!!

  • What happened to Eleanor Rigby?

  • She just disappeared. Walked away with no contacts. Nobody knows where she is. They are doing a documentary on her later this year.

  • Didn't she go stateside for a while?

  • early 80's mod days....everything else has been downhill since then!

  • Lol. I have this on 7" single, autographed by Eleanor in Peterboro. My old brain is foggy, but i think the place was called the "wirrina centre" or something like that. I remember the night because i crashed my scooter on the Kings Lynn roundabout.

79 Mod days were the best of my life!

Good on ya, eleanor. I hope you're doing real well

  • Awesome, first she appears on amazon and now on YouTube, I love the internet

  • This was banned? Sounds fairly innocent to me. Mod girls...whooo!

  • My wife was so thrilled to see this video for the first time in 22 years. She's the young lady in the middle at the begining and riding the Vespa along with her friends Chris and Steve.
