It's so annoying how people feel the need to label one another and put each other into boxes all the time. Just dress however you feel comfortable.. and can I just say that boys' clothes are WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY more comfortable than girls' clothes? *wears dad's sweater like a boss* (Ò__ó)/
i actually don't mind being labeled (most of the time), 'cause i know it doesn't define my entire person, just categorizes one aspect with other that also share that aspect!

i think there's a difference between being labeled and being judged, although i know the latter can often follow the former. like, if you didn't really know me, and you were trying to describe me, i wouldn't mind you labeling me as an asian tomboy, but if you continued to assume that i must be sexually distressed and want a penis, that's different.
and i think we subconsciously "label" everything...it's like a shortcut! to be honest, i think it's impossible to completely escape from stereotypes, but that's ok! because it's also impossible to be entirely one stereotype. when i describe my friends i always start out with big labels, because that's how you can get into their individual quarks~

I don't like being 'labelled', because I feel that the label equals some sort of judgment that's just been stuck to my face - I feel that the two are connected. If I say 'Oh, Jubs is a tomboy', then the person I say it to will start assuming away. People remember a confirmed stereotype better than anything, so even if I say 'She's not gay' they will most likely still ASSUME you are, just to match the stereotype.
well, see, that doesn't bother me too much. it's true that a lot of tomboys are gay, so it's actually a reasonable assumption. to me, judging would be treating me differently because of that. besides, if you hadn't told them i was a tomboy, then they would've assumed i was straight, and wouldn't that be the same problem?
BUT it would be a problem if i had said i was straight and they refused to believe that.

I'd call it 'mocking' if people treated you differently - cause usually you only treat people differently if you have issues with them (you don't like them). I haven't really had that issue (with people treating me differently) because I don't look very gay. I think generally we assume everyone is straight in the first place. **

if we don't put grease on our hair for an extended period of time the scalp cracks and bleed. because well we don't produce as much natural oils in our hair like everyone else does. Also hair starts to become noticeably unhealthy.

It's so annoying how people feel the need to label one another and put each other into boxes all the time. Just dress however you feel comfortable.. and can I just say that boys' clothes are WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY more comfortable than girls' clothes? *wears dad's sweater like a boss* (Ò__ó)/

i actually don't mind being labeled (most of the time), 'cause i know it doesn't define my entire person, just categorizes one aspect with other that also share that aspect!

O_o" While people, who don't know me well, don't mind labeling me and putting me in all their convenient, little boxes. It's the whole ''You don't know me, so why do you even bother judging me?''-aspect of things to me. Maybe I'M the easily bothered one. O_O" I dunno. lol. Sorry for spamming u either way xD

i think there's a difference between being labeled and being judged, although i know the latter can often follow the former. like, if you didn't really know me, and you were trying to describe me, i wouldn't mind you labeling me as an asian tomboy, but if you continued to assume that i must be sexually distressed and want a penis, that's different.

and i think we subconsciously "label" everything...it's like a shortcut! to be honest, i think it's impossible to completely escape from stereotypes, but that's ok! because it's also impossible to be entirely one stereotype. when i describe my friends i always start out with big labels, because that's how you can get into their individual quarks~

@lubdubjubes LOL at the 'want a penis'. I guess we're just different in that aspect. I don't like being 'labelled', because I feel that the label equals some sort of judgment that's just been stuck to my face - I feel that the two are connected. If I say 'Oh, Jubs is a tomboy', then the person I say it to will start assuming away. People remember a confirmed stereotype better than anything, so even if I say 'She's not gay' they will most likely still ASSUME you are, just to match the stereotype.

well, see, that doesn't bother me too much. it's true that a lot of tomboys are gay, so it's actually a reasonable assumption. to me, judging would be treating me differently because of that. besides, if you hadn't told them i was a tomboy, then they would've assumed i was straight, and wouldn't that be the same problem?
BUT it would be a problem if i had said i was straight and they refused to believe that.

@lubdubjubes I didn't think u were straight, but I don't think that's ''judging'' - that's just a malfunction in my gayday (which doesn't happen often >_>). lol. I'd call it 'mocking' if people treated you differently - cause usually you only treat people differently if you have issues with them (you don't like them). I haven't really had that issue (with people treating me differently) because I don't look very gay. I think generally we assume everyone is straight in the first place. **

@lubdubjubes We only change our minds if they do something that seems ''like something a gay person would do (again with the stereotypes)'' or something like that.Since you look like a (tom)boy, you probably couldn't get away with making out with your girlfriends as easily, without people assuming and confirming their theory that you're gay.. while the tables would be turned if I made out with MY girlfriends - because I don't ''look'' like the gay type. Ugh, this comes out so wrong.. but oh well

hmm~~good point! i would look more gay making out with my girlfriends as a tomboy, but that doesn't really bothers me because i understand why they would think that way. and we agree on this: thinking that i'm gay would be an assumption not a judgement.
I think my main point is that i don't mind people making assumptions of me, like being gay, based on how i look, or my label as a tomboy, but i don't want to be treated differently because of it.

Then again.. why would u make out with your girlfriends in the first place? (at least soberly, lol) My analogies suck, as it's 5:14AM and I haven't gone to bed. Either way, one last thing: Since you're not gay, do you find it harder ''getting guys'' (in a non-slutty way) cause of your looks? I don't wanna come off as intrusive tho >_<"

It's definitely not weird :) I've only had crushes on girls, but I know from the very beginning that guys weren't my thing - I just didn't know that girls were. If that makes sense.. and honestly, I wouldn't think about it too much. Let your feelings lead the way - cause they 'know what's right for you'.. be it in the shape of a boy or girl. You can't help (or decide) who you fall in love with..

hahaha, YEAH. i think it must be harder. i haven't really had a serious relationship since i cut my hair like....3 years ago? but i mean, i supposed my personality is kinda awkward for guys too, 'cause i'm not really a typical kind of girl. i'm rough around the edges and just rough all over, really.,:P but of course, i'd be looking for a guy who really cares about me despite those things, so i'm not worried about not having a guy, or a girl! for that matter ^___^;;;

@lubdubjubes If it is harder, it can't be personality wise. I'm a complete bloke around my friends and it doesn't seem to scare off guys at all (which can be utterly annoying, lol). It seems that a lot of guys like girls that aren't all "omg, he liek.. totally love$ mehhh -faints-"-like. Haha! U get what I mean.. but those obnoxious girls. Hehe! And either way.. as long as you're yourself, you won't have any problems! : D I think you're awesome!

if we don't put grease on our hair for an extended period of time the scalp cracks and bleed. because well we don't produce as much natural oils in our hair like everyone else does. Also hair starts to become noticeably unhealthy.
