  • BTBAM would be an awesome band and I would consider them metal if it weren't for their pussy high-voiced teen angst hardcore singer. They should hire that guy from Decapitated.

  • @mammalspod To be fair, I can see what you mean. His clean vocals could use some work but I like them personally so to each his own. Listen to their old stuff though, he does mostly low growls as opposed to what he does now.

  • @VargVikernesTheFag Oh noes one reviewer rated an album you like bad, therefore the entire website sucks. Your a moron.

  • @robinzhooded What you meant to say is *You're a moron.

  • @LD60 ? I could call someone a moron but that requires no effort.

  • @robinzhooded You spelled 'your' wrong in your other post lol.

  • this is the same pentatonic, blast shit that all fucking death metal bands have, get a new gimmick cunts its old its lame its shithouse and the vocals always are non audible. No wonder they are underated they shouldnt be rated at all

  • @themullettiscool God, everything about you just screams retard. You're the reason the general populace thinks metalheads are all knuckle dragging morons with all your poor grammar and constant profanity. And what's this, "shouldn't be rated at all" nonsense? Was that an attempt at humor?

  • @themullettiscool well clearly your fucking retarded considering nothing that you said is either true nor does it make any sense

  • no! stone cold steve austin looks like jeremy turner..

  • I think I really love this song......which is odd because I usually hate this kind of metal....it's got a really smart sense of nonmelody that I could actually listen to all day :D

I'd love to listen to this in school haha

  • Awesome. By the way, the Stone Cold Steve Austin guy is Jeremy Lynn Turner. Hail Origin.

  • @leanfiend444 lol I will and you go listen to someone scream something you can't even understand one day you'll grow out of it

  • @clockhat22 If you really enjoy a genre of music you're not going to grow out of it. Thanks for announcing to everyone what a trendwhore you are.

  • If you like this your retarded

  • @clockhat22 you can't even spell "you're" correctly, so don't accuse other people of being retarded you fucking ignorant geek loser. go listen to your pussy avenged sevenfold and stay the fuck off real metal videos.

  • I still think the 2000 Demo with me on bass was the best!

  • "Antithesis" represents the maturity of Origin, they shouldn't be tagged a "underrated underground" by now. Seriously they shouldn't.

  • Insane.. that is just insane.. especially the drums.

But it all sounds the same, it's the same thing over, with the feel of the song. that's the only problem.

People like songs that contrast, between either backtone and for-tone, or between sound volumes between instruments or speed delaying and mix-n-matching tunes.. and when i say this, i mean more of a melodic feel. that's why these sorts of bands are unappreciated.

this is good, i still like it though.

  • Origin is fucking awesome. Saw them on summer slaughter tour in atlanta!

  • That website is full of metal elitist tools who will never leave their mom's basement nor get laid ever in their lives, that's why I think they're all so bitter about metal.

That website also removed Between The Buried And Me because they're supposedly not metal which is just bullshit.

  • Yeah, I was actually went on there yesterday and wondered why Between the Buried and Me wasn't on there. Between the Buried and Me are one of my favorite bands and it kind of pissed me off.

  • @LD60 they suck but they are metal

  • @LD60 BTBAM NOT metal? what the hell? I dont listen to them regularly, and they may be a little bit of prog and core, but who cares, its still kick ass metal!

(I know you left this comment a year ago, I'm just supporting your thesis)

  • @Azria032 Hahaha, it's fine. I'm just glad to see that someone else agrees that BTBAM is metal and that Metal Archives is fucking stupid.

  • @LD60 Metal archives is awesome, your probably just butthurt one of your favorite albums got a low review on it. 99% of the time the reviews on that site are correct, every now and then there is a bad one though.

  • @robinzhooded Lolwut? Actually that's not why I dislike Metal Archives. It is a good resource but you can't take the reviews seriously since they're all made by a bunch of elitist metal fanboys who all follow the metalhead flock and don't think for themselves.

  • @LD60 Sure some reviews are like that but you can usually tell if the review is done by a fanboy or not anyway, and most are not like that, most reviews are very well done. The site has helped me discover many amazing bands and an extremely useful resource for metal.

  • @robinzhooded I'd have to disagree with you there. Most of the reviewers come off as fanboys who swear like they just turned 13. It may have a lot of great information and some enjoyable reviews but think the admin's are complete pricks when it comes to determining what is and isn't metal. The term 'mallcore' gets thrown around far too much.

  • @LD60 Yeah sometimes the bands they keep off are odd, and they even have Rush on their who isn't metal in the least bit, but I don't let that bother me, most of the bands they keep off suck anyway with a few exceptions of course. I mean a guy gave Atheists Unquestionable presence album like an 18% or so and that is a masterpiece of death metal but I don't let one idiot with a bad review ruin my perception of a website. Plus the guy got banned from the site anyway haha.

  • @robinzhooded There's a lot of bad reviews though and plenty of people who don't think for themselves and follow the metalhead flock. That's why bands like Pantera are getting low average ratings. Plus a lot of guys just give famous bands like Metallica negative reviews just for the sake of trolling. And like I said earlier, all the unnecessary profanity in the reviews is annoying, especially when some reviews are titled 'The Royal Seal of Gayness'.

  • @LD60 Then just ignore the reviews you don't agree with, not hard to do. The people there just hate Pantera for stupid reasons because they think they spawned bands like lamb of god, chimera, and other groove bands they hate. But blaming Pantera for spawning shitty bands is stupid, like they could tell the future or something lmao.

  • @robinzhooded Very good point hahahah on Pantera and their influence so good enough. And I don't see why bands like Lamb of God get so much flak. I think it's just because they're popular.

  • @LD60 They aren't terrible they are just average groove metal tbh. People hate them since they are popular and people say crap like LOG is the best metal band ever! They are so hardcore! Etc.

  • @LD60 The website does have some people like that but most of the elitist attitude has diminished in recent years and it is still nothing compared to websites like ANUS. I have not read that particular review but I am familiar with Origin and I think this style represents the problem of death metal and it is nice to see a lot of retro bands like Demonical going back to the roots when death metal was good.

  • @Mzee1084 Lets not get started about ANUS or Hessian.org. Sheesh, they make MA seem sane with some of the retards that haunt the site like BSS and Mutantclannfear who is still writing.

  • @LD60 I have heard a little bit of Between the Buried and Me and it is just metalcore with progressive elements and clearly does not have enough metallic elements to qualify as metal, at least by my definition. Stop whining calling them all elitists when post-metal is quite popular there. There comes a point when metal is just not metal anymore and MA decided to not include most metalcore and I agree since the fanbase is very different and most metalheads hate that stuff.

  • @Mzee1084 'Heard little bits' being the key words there. BTBAM has a strong metal influence on a lot of their albums but of course you wouldn't know that. And saying that' . There comes a point when metal is just not metal anymore' has to be one of the stupidest things I've read in in a while.

  • @LD60 Yeah cause I mean Nickleback is still metal right, since metal has no boundaries, right?

  • @Mzee1084 When did I say that metal has no boundaries? I didn't. I did say however that you are in no place to say whether BTBAM is or isn't metal since you haven't listened to only 'little bits' of their music.

  • @LD60 You said that it was stupid saying there comes a point when metal is just not metal anymore. That is the same thing. I have heard a few songs and that is enough for me to make a decision. I have also spoken to numerous others who agree it is not metal.

  • @Mzee1084 Thanks for proving my point right about people like you who just follow the rest of the flock when it comes to believing one opinion. Really though, you know nothing about BTBAM and me. They have more of a metal influence than some bands that the admins of Metal Archives let on there just because it's their opinion.

  • @LD60 Give me an example then I will judge. I don't follow the flock. I make my own opinions.

  • @Mzee1084 One example? I'd go with the song Fossil Genera: A Feed From Cloud Mountain and the entire Great Misdirect album. Aside from the weird intro, the song builds up and has some sick metal parts. The entire album sounds a lot of like Dream Theater too, only with more harsh vocals. The same can be said for their 2007 opus Colors.

  • I would agree they are a bit undiscovered/underrated but have been around.

People bitch about "technicality" as if they'd know the difference anyway. It has almost superceded content.

With all of the metal being pipped around these days some bands are bound to be overlooked.

Every genre of music. The proverbial underdogs.

Sometimes its a matter of what band captures your attention. People have short attention spans and if a band doesn't hit the spot the first time its over.

  • These guys practice in a storage unit right down the way from my band. Heard some new music there workin on. Its insane!

  • origin's live show was the most intense show ive ever seen.

  • hate me or whatever but the berzerker owns this....

  • some of the most complex musical composition you're going to hear nowadays

  • maybe to you. I can hear/comprehend everything and it's insane. This band owns.

  • How do I get a picture f the Echoes of Decimation without the wording on it?

  • Fucking pussies, dont care if you like it or not Origin fucking rapes your ass!!

  • Yes? Why would this... not be music?

I can clearly hear music here, pfft.

  • not even live: try "origin live footage". he uses axis longboard and only one bass-drum; and, last but not least, a very good technique for the foot double-stroke roll...

  • Origin? Underground? LOLWUT? If anything they're over-rated to high hell.

  • funny thing though, he doesn't use them.

    fuckwhit.

  • Origin is amazing you fucktard.

  • Actually, they aren't that underrated. But why do you hate them? The genre of music, or what? I could get it if you hate them because they were trying to be something they're not, but these guys are talented and amazing as hell.

  • Not mu style of music. That kind of bands are thousands. In music - complete chaos.

  • First of all, you suck at grammar. And secondly, there aren't many bands who execute death metal with as much finesse as origin. Just because you have an untrained ear doesn't mean this is senseless shit. There is clear musical organization in their compositions.

  • First of all I'm not english or american. Second. I can hear shit. All the same.

  • i think theyre not so underrated as they used to be some years ago

  • here isnt any musicality, this is almost like jazz, everyone is doing his own thing and they fuck it all together, stupid!

  • I can see these bands falling under the underrated metal bands but they are rated so low in the band population because the bulk of rockers can't stomach the screaming and the mach 4 drum beats. Underground is the best place for them. But cool you offered up some new thrash for metalheads. Bang on.

  • I agree, i don't think Origin is so much underrated as much as it appeals to a minority of people into extreme music (which is already a small population of people). Like Anaal Nathrakh I guess, another amazing band that is on the extreme end of extreme music.

  • I would say they are underrated more because of popularity and where they are from. I mean, who would expect ANYTHING like this come from from a state that only offers two major college teams, the worlds largest ball of twine, and wheat!! ALL these guys are very talented, and Jeremy is a BIG SOB!!

  • "plague at your door death and pure war blindly staring in the abyss"

  • "plague at your door, death and pure war, a world unkind is what you find"

    : ]

  • Origin has been on world tours several times, i dont considder that to be very underground band-ish...

They are huge in europe atleast!

  • I wouldn't say Origin are underrated in any way really. Or Meshuggah, or Aeon, or several others in this series of yours. Their albums are usually in all the biggest album stores and mainstream metal magazines. But whatever, not trying to disrespect. I'll make my own vid and then you can see what I consider underrated. Who knows, you might find something you like.
