@ohiooutdoorsfishing1 Also, if you want a sponsor, find some smaller tackle companies. It would be extremely hard to get a large-name sponsor like Berkley when just starting to fish tournaments. You are going to want to fish a few tournaments first, and then try to find some sponsorship's.
@ohiooutdoorsfishing1 It all depends how much knowledge and ability you have towards the sport. People like Skeet Reese have been fishing all of their life and have tons of knowledge about fishing in general. If you want a sponsor, I recommend you learn as much as you can about the sport, and then start fishing some small tournaments. Most of the smaller tournaments are just for fun, but it gets you more knowledge on competitive fishing. Hope this helped, and good luck!
@ohiooutdoorsfishing1 To an extent, yes. It depends what type of fishing you are doing. There are really two types of strikes with a fish; a reaction strike and a hunger strike. Each season, fish will be in different moods, and will be less likely or more likely to hit something. Like in the spring, fish are going to be more towards the top of the water, so it is a great time to use top water baits, and in the winter, fish are more likely to be down in the deeper parts of the lake, so deep
