  • this should be required reading for anyone who yearns for "the good ol days"...

  • Did anyone else notice that this guys says that OVER HALF of women in MODERN DAY ENGLAND report being sexually abused as children? He then quotes some similarly insane statistics about the US. It's around 50:38.

That and the fact that swaddling children to boards (it mentions at some point that they were not allowed to crawl) would prevent them from ever learning to walk and daily beatings would almost certianly cause enough brain damage to prevent them from speaking, I'm discounting this book.

  • You might want to check his references, they are on his web site.

  • Why are you incredulous of that statistic? I mean, I treat all statistics with skepticism, but I have to say that most of the women I know have been raped or abused in their lives.

Your argument about the swaddling is pretty good, though of course we'd have to look at the available data to draw a conclusion.

  • who hasn't been rape this days?

  • @kasrahalt

The guy is sick. He is using sick people and vile child abuse as his mode of operandum.

Most mothers are loving. In one of his articles he said almost ALL new mothers have little feeling for their newborns. This sh*t is in response to the wave of male bashing that went on in the 80's and 90's.

Really sad so many people can't think this through.

    STEFBOT:

Sorry but anyone can dig for references on this stuff and make it look more inflated than is. Wars on are not caused by moms...

  • *deep voice* "Scare them... with a bunch of bogeys!"

  • I have been studying the welfare of children in Europe through the middle ages and have to say that this is very opposite to what I have read.

Parents of all ages have always loved their children and tried to take care of them the best they could. Beating were more common among some people but in general children had lives that were good relative to the circumstances of life.

What is mentioned here is the ways of Christian fanatics and that is completely different from the average parent.

  • but almost all people were christian back then (in america). So that means he's totally right (in america)

  • Historically most people were not that religious. Surely it was common to go to church and to some degree integrate religious norms into one's values but serious religiosity, where the Bible is the ever defining basis of your day to day life, only characterized a minority. Ordinary people were less informed and more religious than us, but not to the degree that many modern people think. The problem is that our understanding of history is largely based on clerical writings not the working man's.

  • Phillbest : Most all people in America were Indians, millions of them.

Warped white Christians got desperate and greedy and annihilated most of them instead of going back home.

  • I honestly couldn't even finish the cast, how sobering.

  • Religion is one crazy set of ideas and ethics... we are still suffering from this type of thinking today which just goes to show how little we have evolved. It makes you wonder if religion has stunted humanities intellectual growth as a species. I just hope this type of thinking doesn't end up destroying all the potential humanity has left. How much damage does an intitution have to do before we realize it's wrong and cut this cancer from our societies?

  • wow chistians suck balls

  • Thanks for posting this.

  • Again I have to wonder where it all began. This lunacy comes from the human mind. Is it just a primitive brain trying to evolve?

  • Even though I consider psychohistory to be a fairly weak field, nontheless stuff like this tends to contain facts about human history which you simply don't hear anywhere else, at least not in a collected work like this video. It's amazing how far we've come in just a few hundred years, can't wait to see what is just around the corner.

  • These ancient cowards were so afraid of women.

  • this is really terrible stuff... i mean, it's necessary to shed light on the subject... but it's just terrible... only religion... only religion.

  • It seems more culturally than just religious according to the site (since religion falls under culture). It would occur while societies traded religions. The practice is worldwide from Japan, India, China, US and crosses religions and time periods (though he has some theory about how societies gradually view children).

  • I recently confronted my father about the physical and verbal abuse I suffered growing up. He cried; he said his parents and teachers beat him as well; that his intentions were good; that he just did what he thought was right.

He refused to believe that events from so long ago still affect people's behavior, and the next day he claimed that if what I said was true, it would mean that there would be "a horrible amount of crazies out there".

Well, dad... Welcome to reality. Insanity is the norm.

  • I grew out of christianity. In the beginning I was indifferent towards the practice, now im appalled.

  • This one is a long one. Will have to podcast.

  • When we debate we use generalities when the details themselves are as if not more important. The problem is getting those blind of eye and deaf of ear to understand and realize the damage their faith causes. One would think the threats they use are about the only tool available.

  • And I thought Dawkins was being metaphorical when he called religion child abuse.

Clearly he was, from a historical sense, literally correct.

I am disgusted, but I can't stop listening.

And I intend to hug and kiss my kids tonight and tell them how much I love them

  • Christianity is the most vile, destructive mind meme every to infect humans...followed by just about every other religious nonsense...

  • On the website it also discusses child abuse in Japan, India, and other places. Some are around half of all children.

  • You can't argue with this ,true so true.
