WTH!! i thought frenkstein would marry the girl and live death happily ever after! when it said the end, i thought i accidentally skipped the video to the end
damn, you cannot beat the classics! I absolutely love this movie <3 all the old monster movies in fact, Dracula, Wolfman, Frankenstein, the classics, not the shitty remakes.
Wonder how self-destruct lever worked? 0:09 like what is thought to have happened to Director James Whale. 0:13 just out. Maybe explosion damaged Monster so badly couldn't speak. Still tragic as lost happiness. 0:50 they produce Sherlock Holmes, Son of Frankenstein. 1:07 A GOOD CAST IS WORTH REPEATING indeed. 0:06 serpent. 0:26 great shot tower crumbling. Elsa Lanchester plays Monster's Mate. Doesn't suprise me British Actor played villain. Aren't they best? BOF better than classic original.
when the castle starts to blow up you see dr frankenstein and his wife running out of the castle, the next scene you see him standing off to the left against the wall
see, this is why it was a bad idea to install that self destruct lever, i know it was half price on self destruct levers that day, but that doesn't mean you should get it!
@dodge96neon Son has almost no continuity with the other 2 movies, I just think of it as another movie series all together. I never read the novel so Son may be more a sequel to that story
If you look to the far left of the screen while the place is starting to explode, you'll see a man standing there--that's actually Henry Frankenstein. You see, they originally filmed it having Henry die in the explosion with the creatures. However, feeling that was too much of a downer, they changed the ending to have him escape. They left the film as it was assuming no one would really notice.
Interesting--they had the Elsa Lanchester character named as Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley, who is the author of the Frankenstein novel. I guess that was her way of being a part of the film, even though it was in name only. But then they said that the Monster's Mate was...? Who knows what they were really trying to say! This is such a classic old film, it is always a joy to watch treasures like this!
Oh come on Frankenstein you saw how excited she was when you were talking about death "ERRAAAHHH!!!" She hissed, give her another chance. I just think the Bride of Frankenstein was into more morbid, masochistic stuff, maybe Frank was just being to gentle earlier. He should've given her another chance, such a sad ending :(
I don't know why they insist on having Elizabeth turn into the Bride in other versions. This may not be what Mary Shelley wrote, but it's closer to the original because it didn't insist in turning Elizabeth into a monster.
One of the greatest endings of all time. The story is a wild gamble building towards something unpredictable. The monster comes so close to finding happiness, only to just miss it. The craftsmanship of director James Whale is amazing. I love the way the heartbeat becomes part of the score in the creation scene.
Wow! In the end, the male monster is such a selfish jerk. I feel really sorry for the bride, though Elsa Lanchester's acting as a hissing wooden plank like character was marvelous.

I really felt sorry for frankensteins monster- all he wanted was a freind, poor guy.
This was a good film, far more entertaining, funny and compelling than that "Van helsing" abomination from 2004. Thanks for uploading!

It's always important, when building your mansion, to have a lever that will blow it all into smithereens. I wonder if Usher has one.

awww thats a sad ending. When the woman creature didnt like Frankesteins monster. I didnt see that coming. :(
So, is the creature really dead? Maybe not since there 2 more sequals. Oh well, I guess I'll have to watch those to find out :D
