Hey prodigy. My gears are hard to spin when i close my gearbox up, even with no shims. There is also lots of side to side play but if i put shims on then it stops up all together. This happens even when there is no spring in the gun. Any suggestions?

@KristoffersonPT try using a punch and hammer to lightly tap the bushings farther in.

Whenever I re-assemble a gearbox, the anti-reversal latch just doesn't want to cooperate. It always pops out. Any ideas on how to keep it in while re-assembling?

@armydude690 put a screw driver on top of it when you reassemble to hold it down.

where can I buy that wiring assembling aftermarket? if there isn't, what's equal to it?

@xxxDOworkxxx9 i believe airsoftgi has them, or you can order directly from kwa. a mosfet is the next best thing.

Also, I can't pop my KWA open. Exact same gun and when I pop the rear pin it it is still rock solid. Won't budge. Any ideas?

@DeathShepardAirsoft make sure your piston is all the way forward or the body will catch on it.

I have this gun and I love it but I am totally clueless with internal modifications. I would like to put a new spring in(m120) but I honestly have no clue how to do so. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Would you recommend the matrix magnum motor for a new motor or the G&P m120? I'm thinking the G&P but i want your opinion.

@UrbanLegendsAirsoft well the G&P is not a high torque it is a high speed. i am not a fan of the matrix motors. but they are alright. try a G&P m140 motor.

Great review Kilo! I have already been building up my funds to get a KWA or an ICS. I feel like KWA will be a better buy. A M120 or an SP 110 will make that gun golden. Personally I would go with the SP110. Again nice review bud, keep it up.

I wrapped the cylinder head with tephlon tape and it pretty much gave my sr12 a perfect seal it might work for this one.

my friends kwa broke into 5 pieces but it was understandable because he was the guns 4th owner

Also Kwa did an update to there gears and are now redesigned and need to be shimmed, the old gears actually did not need to be shimmed.

Do you have the new version?? I have put over 25 thousand rounds through it and changed the spring over to a 130 and I haven't had a single issue Umarex has 2 versions there is the less expensive one that has the fake cartridges in the clip which is called H&K G36C AEG Airsoft Gun and the HK G36C AEG Elite Airsoft Gun the elite is what I am tlking about it sells for around 350 or so.

The kwa piston head is the worst part of the GB, if you use an 11.1v the piston head not having any ports will actually suck the bb into the Air zozzle and cause horrible mis feeding and loss in range.

Spring in the KWA RIS is actually M120 equivalent. I think you were referring to an SP spring when you said it was an M120.

@NikoGpsy no. we use m110 springs at work that pretty consistently get 390-400fps in most guns.

@ASTKilo23 If you are installing either a Madbull or Guarder springs, they are SP rated (or behave more like an SP). So they will yield a higher FPS than an M rated spring with the same numerical figure such as a Systema.

Not a completely accurate assessment of the KWA internals particularly about the motor and piston head but it was good review nonetheless.

I read somewhere on KWA's forum why they use a non-ported piston head but I can't remember right now what it was. I do know there is a reason for it though. I'll try to find it again. Great break down. Very informative. Bought my son the KWA M9 PTP for Christmas and have been extremely impressed with it. KWA certainly makes a quality product.

Also just adding, G&p has the famous M120 High speed motor that people buy just to put in builds.

Couldv'e swore stainless steel has far less vibrations as a brass or aluminum barrel? Don't have experience with all three, but its what I heard.

G&P is infact China made but not in the scene as Dboys or JG is china made. They have very high end products, i do not support buying Chinese but honestly they defy the term made in china.

Astkilo23 I can only concur with your review - I bought a KWA gearbox to upgrade a project gun and it is fantastic. Lucky to get it for UK£60 ($95) from a film/theatrical source surplus. And not messing with the piston head - it's consistant - why over analyse?

Does the little spring in front of the hop up actually do anything?

G&P is Hong Kong made (part of China) and just because KWA is made in Taiwan doesn't make it better, G&g is made in taiwan and they aren't great. G&p internals are far more advanced than kwa and they have better quality control. I am a defender of g&p because of course I own one.
