  • Thank you for the instructions. My daughter is 4 and begins ballet lessons tomorrow at the Pacific Northwest Ballet school. I'm barely able to get her ponytail straight Yikes! :-)

  • thanks!!!!! ur really pretty!!!!!

  • I watched the video, just because I read on the comments, just suck it up.

  • It's called a fringe not bangs.

  • lol @ just suck it up

  • do you think you can do that with short hair? not really :|

  • haha at first i totally thot u said jus fuck it up haha lol

  • you need way way more pins for your hair to stay in at class

  • @kittyforever234 I used to use a ton more pins when I used the smaller ones, but ever since I bought the larger ones I didn't need as many to make it stay. Before class to double-check that it will stay shake your head around a bit maybe do a couple spins while spotting and if it remains secure then you should be fine.

  • @Lishehh oh ok sorry. How should I but my hair up for class because my ballet teacher is really strict about having your hair up and I cant put my hair in a bun (my hair is short) because all of these weird peices stick out

  • @kittyforever234 Thats a good question. I've never had short hair before so I'm not sure, but if I were you, maybe before or after class, I would ask the teacher how she recommends to do it.

  • @Lishehh Ok Ill try that thank you so much

  • @kittyforever234 Put your hair up in a ponytail. Wrap your hair around the ponytail like in the video, and secure that with a hair tie/ rubberband. Wrap a hairnet around it, and shape with bobby pins.

  • I love your hair!' I shold have do the same, soon! :D

  • u seem sooo sweet xD

  • wow that was great thanks i have really think hair and i've always tried the small pins and it wouldnt hold...so now i know! (: haha

  • Love the video!! Could you also do a video on how to dobur makeup u have on please!!! I love the make...

  • Let me guess how long your hair is and then mesure it,,, I'm guessing 25"

  • Brings back ballet memories for when my mom did my hair. :)

  • 5 minutes!? Do it in 30 seconds or less perfectly... without pins! Click on my user profile to find out how. =)

  • just suck it up thats nice lol

  • 2:58 to 3:03 is lol to us.

  • The best bun tutorial! Thank you.

  • It is also good to use some hairspray to really secure that the bun won't fall out.

  • "but just suck it up" lol sounds like somethin my da would say lol XD

  • i love it btw those are called bobby pins but i still really love the hair style

  • ooooo we have the same name :D

  • this is good coz im in army cadets and i have to tie my hair up :)

  • thnx

  • You're very cute ;) Just wanted to let you know.

  • Thanks!

  • hahahahaha my names kamila <333

  • do you know how to do a gymnastics bun? or is it like the same thing or.......... ya cuz i have a meet comming up soooo ya HELP ME!!!!

  • I'm not exactly sure but I would assume you can use the same technique because it stays put very well

  • You seem like a little sweet doll :P

  • it were very nice when you are to show us your ponytail

  • that's awesome, but totally doesn't work on my hair. For my first recital, I had four backstage "dance moms" trying to do that to my hair, and if I turned my head it fell. They had to get my teacher, who had NO idea what to do for my hair, so they let me do the same tight twist thing, just with a bunch of hair ties, and then double hairnet it. So funny... :D

  • emo, I've heard of people with lots of hair using zip ties to secure the bun to the hair in the ponytail

  • @CDWAMLP oh I believe it. there are manes of hair far worse than mine, and if it works, why not.

  • I love it.

    Thanks :)

  • i do not dance but i wear my hair up alot and i often usethe hairagami and a ballet bun cover i wear it everywear!

  • your so pretty!! (i hope that doesn't sound weird!! lol) I LOVE your hair! its sooooooo pretty!

  • your top is soo cute!

  • haha, suck it up. nice one.

  • This can sometimes hurt a little bit, but...suck it up. :P

    Ahahaha

    Wow, you're gorgeous!

  • I have been trying to find a decent bun tutorial on youtube for about 2 days. And so far, this is the best one yet!! thanks so much for posting it!

  • Thanks! This really helped =D

  • i have a question, can this hair style also work for ROTC??

  • I'm sure it can, that is what I'm doing it for. I have really long&thick hair, and I tried this style last night and it worked nicely. Just use a LOT of bobby pins and make sure they follow regulations. (:

  • "Suck it up" Love it!!

  • i wish my hair was as long as yours ):

my hair looks so weird in a bun since it's so short.

  • it can sometimes hurt but just suck it up xDD

    your to funny

  • I like this video is learning how to put in a ballet bun.

  • Love this bun. I was suprised at how easy it was.

  • hi i saw your video and im just wondering i cant make my bun since i have ALOT of layers!! HELP PLEASE!!

  • You'll need a lot of bobby pins to pin down the layers as you go :)

  • im glad I watched your video, because I didn't know how my wide pins were really used...thx!!

  • they aren't pins their BOBBY PINS !

  • the first pin she showed and used for her bangs was a bobby pin but the other ones that she talked a lot about and used in the bun were hair pins.

  • thats my motto too- just suck it up

  • Very first time i put my hair up in a bun! great vid it worked got no clips but it looks good. :). thanks a lot good video! i sucked it up :) lol

  • Awesome. Thank you. I'm a total novice at putting hair up, and this vid really helped me to get it! :)

  • tnx! really easy to understand!

  • you make it look so esay-nice one:)

  • best video ever...thank you!

  • This video was great. It has really helped me and my 3 year old daughter. A boy was pulling her ponytail today at kindergarten, and I thought that if a ponytail was too tempting a target, then a bun would be perfect - but I didn't know how to do one that would hold. She is such an active little thing, so hopefully your ballet bun will work. Sorry about telling you the big drama, I really just wanted to thank you heaps for putting this video up - and thanks from my daughter too!! :-)

  • Thats funny, I used to have the same problem in kindergarten! ;P Glad I could help!

  • haha too tempting a target

  • thanks! it helped

but my buns never go like this because i have really short hair :(

  • your gorgeous. this is a greaat video too.

  • thanks. you're very pretty!

  • thanks, it really helped me =)

  • So what? I couldn't think of the name exactly...

Everyone blanks out from time to time, doesn't mean they're dumb...

    way to judge...

  • she calls them bobby pins in her description, shayla

  • WOW! I learned how to do a ballet bun just last week in my communications class a women brought in her daughter and performed a ballet bun for her how-to speech. She put something in her hair first, I don't remember what it was (I'm a guy,I only watched this cuz your cute), then she used hair spray after to keep down the frizzies.

  • Hehe thanks for watching!
