Excellent video Steve from well chosen locations. I'm intrigued as to how you set the second camera recording when it's so far away? Beautifully crisp light at Horton and Langwathby, and a lovely sound from the 5. It's been another great season for the Fellsman - roll on 2012, when we might see Galatea? Cheers, David.
@Linesider1 . Thanks David , I have been waiting for someone to ask me about the second camera and how did I set it recording . I put a plastic bag over the camera and set it recording and then walked across and set up the other camera and luck would have it that the rain that did appear for a few seconds stopped and did not get on the lens and I kept a good eye on the cameras position for any body who may try and walk off with the camera . Regards Steve
Some lovely lighting. Nice setting at Langwathby, with those three bridges. Although that one does seem to always have a bit of a leak from the cylinders.
The more you see of Black Fives the easier it is to understand why BR held on to them till the very end. A medium power locomotive handling twelve coaches without anyone thinking it needed a diesel on the back. Maybe there is a better word, but they are also 'handsome' looking...
@Sowerbylads . Thanks John, everything worked well for once except the first shot when I forgot to replug in the external mic on the main camera . Steve
What a stunning piece of work to celebrate the last Fellsman working Steve.....Beautiful countryside, lighting to die for, and faultless work behind the camera..perfect..just perfect from the No1 man .....Bob
Another very well filmed video Steve. Some really beautiful locations en route. Good to see a top performance from her on the last of the Fellsman Tours for 2011. Many thanks for posting, Dave.
Excellent locations and footage Steve with the Five performing well. Shame the tours have to come to an end but all things have to finish one day. Thanks for posting your days footage. Regards Phil.
Steve, I particularly liked the Horton scene for lighting and sound. Great camerawork throughout. Thanks for sharing the final 2011 Fellsman. Regards, John
@ralph5407 . Thanks Ralph , the first clip was taken from the second camera as the main camera had the better angle without the mast in the shot but I forgot to plug the external mic in so the sound was terrible and had to be binned . Steve
Sorry to say it froze on me, @3.50. Probably my computer, but thought I had better tell you. . . . .. What I saw was wonderful! That light on the mountains, at Horton . . . . . Alan
@balmesh . Thanks Alan , plays back ok on my laptop so could be yours mate . The lighting was magic at Horton as the sun was out and lit the whole train from behind . Regards Steve
Great film, a fine testimony to the memory of the black five in its undaunted , tackle-all heyday.
