  • Great film, a fine testimony to the memory of the black five in its undaunted , tackle-all heyday.

  • @SuperStanley7 . Thank you , the 5 is a true workhorse and a joy to film . Steve

  • Excellent video Steve from well chosen locations. I'm intrigued as to how you set the second camera recording when it's so far away? Beautifully crisp light at Horton and Langwathby, and a lovely sound from the 5. It's been another great season for the Fellsman - roll on 2012, when we might see Galatea? Cheers, David.

  • @Linesider1 . Thanks David , I have been waiting for someone to ask me about the second camera and how did I set it recording . I put a plastic bag over the camera and set it recording and then walked across and set up the other camera and luck would have it that the rain that did appear for a few seconds stopped and did not get on the lens and I kept a good eye on the cameras position for any body who may try and walk off with the camera . Regards Steve

  • @TheStephengthompson Thanks for the explanation Steve - clever stuff!

  • Some lovely lighting. Nice setting at Langwathby, with those three bridges. Although that one does seem to always have a bit of a leak from the cylinders.

  • @AndreiTupolev . Thanks Andrei , you get a good long view at Langwathby and the sun was a nice bonus. Steve

  • @acw71000 . Thanks Austin , the lighting was spot on for once at Horton . Steve

  • The more you see of Black Fives the easier it is to understand why BR held on to them till the very end. A medium power locomotive handling twelve coaches without anyone thinking it needed a diesel on the back. Maybe there is a better word, but they are also 'handsome' looking...

  • @SteffanLlwyd . Thanks Steffan , the word workhorse could have been made for a black five and they just sound great also . Steve

  • First class footage , well captured , no mistaking that sound of the Black 5, and some beautifull locations

  • @howarth004 . Thanks David , you cant go far wrong with a five and I love the sound they make . Regards Steve

  • @782sirbrian . Thanks Brian , I try my best and some times it comes out ok . Steve

  • No problems with the playback for me, Excellent footage as usual Steve, with good sound despite the windy conditions.

  • @ralph5407 . Thanks Ralph , the first clip was taken from the second camera as the main camera had the better angle without the mast in the shot but I forgot to plug the external mic in so the sound was terrible and had to be binned . Steve

  • excellent footage 1 class steve mate. andrew
