better to have loved... I think if you would shorten the life of someone you love, you didn't love them, you still would not have "loved". You would have been loved, but that's different.
After seeing several responses to the stomping kitty question, nobody seems to care about the kitty in the equation. It takes quite a bit of resolve to inflict that much suffering on a defenseless baby animal who's biggest concern in life at that time is getting care and nurturing. Of course, those to whom it would trust for sustenance, would crush it under its heel, breaking bones, rupturing organs, severing nerves etc. No one seems to find that prospect relevant in their answer?
I thought about it. The girl in the equation is not my reason for saying no, it's the killing of the kitten. The benefit of immortality would be time to do as you please, to explore the wonder of the universe. If I have to use it stomping kittens, no thanks.
