I think I once nearly started an argument by saying that there were good Irish (Irish-Americans) on both sides in the (American) Civil War. The thread was *about* the American Civil War...but somebody came along who didn't know what the thread was about and started saying that there were no good Irish on whichever side he/she was against, in Ireland. So I had to explain that the AMERICAN Civil War was what was being discussed! Now, that's a little extreme.

Was this shown in England, i am sure if it was they had not a clue what it was about, Never met a English person yet that had a notion of what was done in Ireland for centuries. As I do Irish dancing I take an interest in the history like all types of dance I do.

I do all types of dance and I always look into the history and culture of that type of dance.

@wellington94456 You might want to look at a certain Discovery channel documentary a few years back fronted by Eddie Izzard no less which showed how the English were influenced by other cultures. The Indians (From India I mean not the native Americans) thought the English rather smelt when they first met them and very kindly showed them the benefits of soap and water.
