my daughter really like this movie.. she's watching the movie atleast 3x a day, when she wakes up, when she go to sleep at noontime & before going to sleep at night.this wonderful
i am so touched... i don't know how i can possibly explain how i feel, you cannot imagine that i get into contact with this i watched 27 years ago.it is so deep, so real and heart touching. thanks a lot to you all who made this possible and even you you put in up here on you tube for us to enjoy.i am greatful to the Almighty God who has been merciful and kept our beloveD Julie Adrews and team alive for us to see them. God bless you all guys.
I love the movie sound of music grew up watching it had to see the kids all grown up most I can name but there was a few that I wasnt sure about cause they changed so much. Its an epic movie that will be around long after im gone.
My favorite two movies are Sound of Music and the Wizard of Oz, hands down. The Sound of Music, though, stirs up feelings that are hard to describe and overwhelming. Perhaps it's because it was so sad that Nazism ruined so many lives, incl. the Von Trapp's (temporarily, than God). So glad to see that the actors stayed friends for life..........
so sweet, a romantic treat with great music a true one of a kind classic....Singing is good for the soul.....Btw 3 of the 4 oldest children are alive and are 98, 97, & 95 years old!
You all did an amazing job,...the musical of all musicals,...still brings tears to my eyes,...it brings me back to a special time in my life when we ,...my family would sing those songs on the hills in Cordoba in Argentina,....God bless you all.....
Edelweiss is really the best song of this movie. The movie only shortly became popular in Austria though. They didn't like the memories. Great country, Salzburg is absolutely amazing.
Your title is misleading. It should read: Actors of the Von Trapp kids are now grown up, because there are video clips of the real Von Trapp kids on Youtube.
My all-time favorite movie. Have it on DVD and watch often plus anytime on TV. It is wonderful to see how they have changed - right along with ME. Still, I didn't want the kids togrow up.
You did a really good job of creating and posting. Thank you so much.
This has to be one of my favorite movies of all time. I had the opportunity to visit some of the places it was filmed and I have to say it is more beautiful in person and was a joy to experience. Thank you for sharing.
There is something so magical about this movie... something so nostalgic, so romantic, so lovely... I always watched the end with the feeling that I never wanted it to end, and feeling sad when it was over! Does anyone else feel the same way?!?
Must be so surreal to go back to a place where, as a child, you worked with other children and adults...as adults. For some it was their only film, so what an impression it must have had on their lives. In a documentary about the making of the film, Julie Andrews says that Chris Plummer (Captain) was not crazy for kids and had to pull out all the plugs to be patient, and that she, had to prod him at times, to remind them that they were kids. All, though, said it was an incredible experience.
here in dominican republic my mom took me and my sisters to watch the movie ,on the 70's almost 80's because they used to repeat that movie over and over every year and i grow up loving that movie and all of their actors!!! I even end up buying the movie, first vhs, then dvd!! thank you for those pictures!! even my son and husband learn how to love this movie!!
I am kind of obsessed with this movie!! Practically watched this movie may be thousand times, yet it remains as fresh as ever...... i recollect my childhood through this movie..... it gives me nostalgia at it's peak, i associate this movie with my father with whom i saw this for the very first time in the movie hall when i was just 7years old, and whenever i listen to the songs i miss my father so pathetically that it takes a day or two to recover from the state!! I love them all!
TENGO 62,HOY,AGOSTO 2011,Y SIGO DISFRUTANDO CON MIS DOS NIETAS,GRACIAS A INTERNET Y A YOU-TUBE, DE ESTE ESPECTACULAR FILM MUSICAL....NUNCA IGUALADO...!!!!! AUN HOY ME CONMUEVE HASTA LAS LAGRIMAS....HERMOSO
They brought such love into our hearts then.... I still have it!!! Just forgot about it right up to this moment..... Thank you very much for reminding me....
I don't care if people say it's a soft romantic film! I ADORE this movie and have seen it at least 50 times perhaps almost half of it in the cinema, because it came back here every year!Everything is perfect in this movie, the whole cast, the areas where it took the shot, the songs are wonderful..Besides it's a love story that could happen to anyone. And God how I love Julie Andrews and her breathtaking beautiful voice. Thanks sooo much for making and uploading this video!Still recognise their faces.
Im 14. 15 in november and im a huge fan of james bond but my all time favorite movie is the sound of music not alot of people know what it is great clip :)
I am 49, I was only 6 years old when I saw this movie, I died and went to heaven to see and hear all the beauty contained in it, I only had seen BAMBI, and I realized at that very moment that for more than you try to make your life a beautiful piece of art and love, the truth is that there is an evil spirit that will bring you back to reality, with disgrace and hatred, who would've tell me, I was going to flee my country for the same reasons, years later and live a life of hiding and running.
My most loved and favorite movie. I have been thinking abt this for over 25 years. This movie inspired me and my classmates in English to make our own musical play. And now I that i am a teacher, I introduce this movie to my pupils and be inspired of the story and its music. Thank you for updating me of the Von Trapp kids..
I am 1986 born and I love the movie a lot! Thanks a lot for the sweet post. I really like it. and yes, They all seems grown up to decent lives. That is the best part.!
i love the bit where uncle max is reading there names out the program and gretl turns around and asks why am i always last and he tells her its because shes most important i love it xx
I saw this way back when..i forget what year i fell in love with it..Iforgot about it and it came up AGAIN..I SAW IT A SECOND TIME and i relaized why i fell n love with it ..the way the captain looks at maria when they r dancing..the way they look at each other in the whole movie..its beautiful..its my favorite of all ..
My friend and I love Sound of Music so much, particularly the Austrian maid Frau Schmidt, that we made a parody of the musical told from Frau's perspective. It's a comedy that we both wrote. If you're interested in seeing it yourself, youtube "Sound of Frau" and click on the version with the best quality! :D
Just wondering if you knew that those are ALL actor & actresses...NOT the REAL VON TRAPPS that the movie was based on. The REAL ones are quite old...I mean the war WAS in the early 40's. Maria was born in 1905 and died in 1987. The oldest of the children was born in 1911 and if alive would be 100 this year. The youngest was born in 1939 and IS still alive. Easy enough to google von trapp.
12 people are dumb asses...am sorrry to say this to all movies and actors..but this is the best movie in the whole world//..best and sweet actors..i wish i acted in this movie.
I`m 52, steel searching about this wonderful and exceptional movie, the best of all times, the best music, julie: the best singer and actress, i admire all of them deeply
FROM WIKIPEDIA: "When he(Chris Colfer) was younger, he also starred in A VERSION of 'The Sound of Music' as the character 'Kurt'. He now plays in the series GLEE as Kurt Hummel. (FYI)
... I grew up with this movie...and even now, when I'm all grown up I sing the songs that I've heard so many times in youth... And I always get the goosebumps when I watch the movie itself...
i love the sound of music it has been one of my most loved memories because i used to watch it with my gradma when i was litttle but she had passed away we played most of the musicial songs at her funerial R.I.P gran xx
ive watched sound of music over 20 times and i could never get sick of it the music the children the veiw so wonderful and will live on for hundreds of year the best musical ever made!
THE SOUND OF MUSIC LEAVES SO MUCH OF MY CHILDHOOD MEMORIES.IF I COULD JUST TURN BACK THE HANDS OF TIME 50 YEARS AGO...I ALWAYS GET MISTY EYED EVERYTIME I VIEW IT.....
there is something sad to this , you always want them to stay the way they were , and from their point of view- that they now are old, and that part of their life is long gone- kind of reminds you that we are here on earth for just a small amount of time even if we think it takes forever to get old
When I was in second grade my teacher, Mildred Harrison, taught us songs from The Sound of Music and The King and I. She left and indelible love for education, music, and fairness on me. My mother later took me to the movie. What I didn't and know, until 8 years later, was that she was the first African-American teacher in our grade school after they got rid of segregation. Its more than 45 years later and I treasure the gift of music, learning, fairness, and friendship that she gave to us.
@cupcakebell Julie Andrews may look so young because her career from earliest childhood has been aerobic -- dancing ballet and singing deeply from the chest, which entails lifelong deep breathing, especially inhaling, from the diaphragm. This reduces stress and thus aging.
all these many laters at last when i will begin to grew up at catholic yunior high school at 1996, we were together, the pupils of our school went to movie for the sound of music ....edelweiss....do re mi fa.... the von trapp children ...so long farewel...so happy with our teachers at this moment and never ended and so look grazy when i said : " hi, it's me in paris on the screen, how old am i? " oki oki you are old, your children grown up! "
The BEST musical EVER....I saw it when I was six...for the first time....and at that age saw it 11 times in two weeks!!!...and of course have seen it many times ever since!!
dear god, i just can't believe at Liesl! i used to watch this when i was younger and dream about the day that i would be beautiful just like her! it's so weird to realise now that she is just another human who had to get old..
I still can't believe Christopher Plummer calls this one of his least favorite movies to have been a part of. He said he couldn't stand the children, and working with Julie Andrews was like babysitting a teenager or something like that. He said he wished he'd never taken the roll. Personally I think it would have been an incredible part to play.
This was my favorite movie, my children still remember how much we loved this movie. It's all the more meaningful because it's based on the Van Trapp family. I gave my children a small organ when they were little, and in the evenings when I tucked them in I used to play and sing Edelweiss for them. Brings tears to my eyes. Richard Rodgers was a favorite, and he and Oscar Hammerstein nailed this one.
my daughter really like this movie.. she's watching the movie atleast 3x a day, when she wakes up, when she go to sleep at noontime & before going to sleep at night.this wonderful

FROM WIKIPEDIA: "When he(Chris Colfer) was younger, he also starred in A VERSION of 'The Sound of Music' as the character 'Kurt'. He now plays in the series GLEE as Kurt Hummel. (FYI)

there is something sad to this , you always want them to stay the way they were , and from their point of view- that they now are old, and that part of their life is long gone- kind of reminds you that we are here on earth for just a small amount of time even if we think it takes forever to get old

This musical will never die! There will be no other musicals like the Sound Of Music.Rodgers and Hammerstein saved the best for last !!

dear god, i just can't believe at Liesl! i used to watch this when i was younger and dream about the day that i would be beautiful just like her! it's so weird to realise now that she is just another human who had to get old..

All these many years later, it's hard to pick out the grownups those kids grew in to!
It might be easier to follow if you did each person then/now, one at a time.

I still can't believe Christopher Plummer calls this one of his least favorite movies to have been a part of. He said he couldn't stand the children, and working with Julie Andrews was like babysitting a teenager or something like that. He said he wished he'd never taken the roll. Personally I think it would have been an incredible part to play.
swimrocket 10 months ago
This was my favorite movie, my children still remember how much we loved this movie. It's all the more meaningful because it's based on the Van Trapp family. I gave my children a small organ when they were little, and in the evenings when I tucked them in I used to play and sing Edelweiss for them. Brings tears to my eyes. Richard Rodgers was a favorite, and he and Oscar Hammerstein nailed this one.
