I used to test this out quite a bit when I was a young kid with WADED. The spider mastermind wins at close range, but it loses at long range as the cyberdemon's rockets always hit while the spider mastermind's chaingun loses effectiveness. On the highest skill the cyberdemon sometimes wins even at close range because it shoots much more without pausing to walk or stagger.

they should try making a game today with sprite based graphics. if you made sprites for every angle you can view something at it will look way more detailed. It would take a lot less processor power since only the level would be rendered everything else would just eat up a ton of memory though lol

They take the 3d data for the level and monsters and items and whatnot, and then render it to a colour buffer which is then displayed on your very 2d screen.

@rabidmedia1 This Cyberdemon was afraid to fire. Not sure why. When I played through, the Cyberdemon ran through the Mastermind and still had plenty of health to spare. I wound up circling the room and firing with whatever I had to try to chip off the rest of his health.

Spider Mastermind has a gattling shotgun and 3000 hit points. Cyberdemon has a Rocket launcher and 4000 hit points. Spider can be a bitch in co-op, esp. on the Factory if you lead it to your spawn points. I got spawn killed so much in co-op
