The latest 3 generations were the best so far. The main games had interesting plot, and the remakes make it impossible to argue. While i respect 1 and 2, yellow is the only original game not matched or exceeded by remakes. Take off your Nostalgia Goggles.

Gen 2 is my personal favourite because of all the new features and additions the games added, but its followed by gen 4

@blarghblargh5 completely agree. gen 1 was my first game but gen 2 was better. it had 16 gyms plus you could battle the protagonist from the last game and you had the best rival, him actually stealing his first pokemon, not to mention the second best rival could be battled as a gym leader.

Most of DPP pokemon were a total failure but atleast the version is not bad.You have lots of things to do and the fourth generation follows the first and second generations in storyline and team galactic looks pretty similar to team rocket(similar clothes with just different colors,same type of pokemon.They both use poison types etc).

Can anyone believe how fast these pokemon generations are going? Pokemon gray will be out later this year or next year, then you've got a ruby and saphire remaking coming 2012, 2013, and then yet another new generation, and then a diamond and pearl remake in like 2015 or 2016. This is just judging on if the current pattern continues, but still its amazing how fast these things come, and the funny thing is, we'll never stop buying them.

I don't see why anyone would say that any gen of Pokemon sucks. Sure, gens 4 and 5 have some fugly Pokemon, but they also have some great ones. Gens 1-3 had their share of crappy 'mons, too. All of the games have great storylines, music, gameplay, and environments. Pokemon, regardless of generation, is a classic series, and always will be.

@whiskers932 I agree! I have a feeling that the fact that the Gen IV Pokemon were very classic-esque and accepted by most players is tied to the fact that Gen IV was the first DS generation. Gen V pokemon are....eh. And the region itself is... eh. Sinnoh was just awesome in my opinion - great gyms, more challenging, cute and DIFFERENT pokemon, and great geography :D storyline of B&W was the best, however.

I thought the gen 5 Pokemon were awesome! And the cute Vanilite of course. That's actually why I caught one because it looked at me with sad eyes. Gen 5 needs more credit. The unova region was well thought out. I mean, can you name another city with a rollercoaster gym? I think not. How about an elite four you can challenge in any order you want? Still no? Only in Unova.

They're still pretty difficult. I had to use almost all of my healing items to win the first time. I can't believe that they gave tms to the elite four. No way Pawniard can use Thunder on its own.

Not if you were using my avergae level 40ish team. By the end of the entire challenge, Ghetsis included, I only had 2 Pokemon around level 50, Zekrom and Samurott. And my Lampent and Haxorus died on hit one. Scrafty died in two hits and my last Pokemon I don't even remember but it died in about 2 hits as well. My team was highly underleveled. It took me, no lie, about 5 tries to beat the Ghost Elite four. (I ended up being forced to take the challenge from left to right room)

@sarahhphernalia i honestly thought the b/w storyline was very predictable...i didnt have to play any of the past games of pokemon to guess what would happen next...for example i totally seen the final battle with N coming and i was right and i guessed that the black stone in the museum was going to be important later on in the story because i found it hard to believe that they would just put a random black stone in the game (white if you are playing black version).
