  • mike from the radio 1 punk show at the start. i miss that show and the UK.

Anyway it's insane how often these guys put out new albums and they're still all amazing

  • The intro makes me think of Choking Victim's « 500 Channels ».

  • @franconbean i couldnt give two shits about what your name means thanks and eating disorders are 'cool' now are they, yes looking like a skeleton and having a mental health problem is really 'cool' you dumbass, i think your mistaken about what i said before, you personally are uncool because you have a shit name and also seem to not be able to read properly. i dont listen to Justin Bieber, infact, i think hes a cocky shit, but in comparison to this shit band i would listen to him.

  • Alkaline Trio have yet to release a song I don't think is amazing.

  • um does any1 have the beginning of the song where it says "whatever happened to wonderland....where did alice go...i took a night dreaming out of (something)....and cut out to the next show back in her living hell...i wish to dwell...i long ta be"??? some1 fill me in please

  • @hillem97

the song is called, "draculina" by alkaline trio

  • I swear I fucking hate coming on youtube to listen to a good band and seeing all these people arguing over the song. What happened to the good times when music was more then just something to argue about online, and actually enough to save my life?

  • @cntcareless exactly.

  • ALKALINE TRIO IS FUCKING AWESOME! THEY HAVE THE AWESOMEST SONGS EVER!

  • I wish Skiba would take Alkaline Trio down the same path as Heavens. No offense to punk rock, it's been a huge part of my life, but I absolutely loved what they were doing with Heavens. So much style and emotion and rhythmic variation, I really saw the experience and maturation that Matt has gained over the years in Patent Pending.

  • i love this song so much...

  • note: in my response to rosie's comment, i am NOT linking growing up with listening to justin bieber. and for the record i strongly dislike his music.

  • @franconbean You, sir, deserve a medal for being able to construct a complete, thought out response on YouTube when faced with a completely arrogant, asinine retard. I give you mad props.

  • Comment removed

  • i don't see it. what does it say

  • Lawllin @ Rosie. There's so many typos in your comment I didn't understand half of it. Want to buy English translator for Rosie please.

  • @RosieB8916 that is why I like them, fuck mainstream music. why don't you use spell check? FUCK ENGLAND.

  • @FriendlyFire360 you sir, have just alienated a country. Fuck YOU.

  • @RosieB8916 so listening to music that is not popular makes us "uncool"? grow up. Go listen to justin beiber.

  • @franconbean hes better to listen to than this shit that deafens you even when you have the sound low, and at least you can understand what justin bieber is saying all this shit band seem to do is make a whining sound down the microphone.

and yes YOU are uncool and frankly a irritating twat for having the shittest name on the planet, franconbean? fucking hell youre a dipshit.

  • @RosieB8916 at least its original. You don't even know what it means. And being cool is so important? So are you going to starve yourself, become beliemic (spelling?) and do whatever is "in" just to be cool? you have just defeated yourself and proven that you only listen to Bieber to be "cool". The end.

  • @RosieB8916

    Wow. Just wow.

Shut the fuck up, change your fucking tampon, get the fuck off of YouTube, and go play in traffic. I will never understand people who go to a video of a song they don't like just to say nasty shit about it. Nobody cares about you. Nobody cares about your opinions. Grow up.

    Have a fantastic day.

  • does anyone notice that there is a subliminal message written in the heart? :|

  • @disembodiedlola

    Where????

  • just in the middle, the pills form a word, i have often seen similar stuff in commercials, you can search :)

  • @disembodiedlola

    well what does it say?

  • @dmon715 dude i dont think theres anything there i see fuck all

  • @disembodiedlola whats it say?

  • Nice two minute song

  • i just got the Remains cd, highly recommend it :)

  • Way to be up in the times, haha. Just kidding That's my favorite album.

  • Maybe I'll Catch Fire, From Here to Infirmary and Good Mourning are my favorite albums by alk3

this isn't bad i guess. Definitely better than agony and irony.

  • IMO, Matt's voice & lyrics often pale in comparison to Dan's. The lyrics on this song are a bit eh... But here's to hoping the rest of the album is better!

  • This could totally be a Rock Band song. Good song.

    <3

  • Maybe I'll Catch Fire...by far the best. Opinion, of course.

  • I didn't like Help Me that much, but I like most of Agony and Irony so I anticipate that this will be similar.

  • @nacho3rdbowler no there trying not to suck anymore dude like there first stuff

  • @dlwatso15

I was just saying that I didn't like the first single on the album but I liked the album itself, so this could be similar. I don't like this song much, but the album could be good.

  • Apparently you don't like short fast songs. You probably listen to Coldplay.

  • whatever dude. ever heard of Head Wound City? Arab on Radar? The Locust? all of the above write much shorter and faster songs than this.

I just don't like this song because it isn't better than anything else alkaline trio have put out. I listen to all kinds of music. probably a lot more variety than whatever you're into. I'm just not into this song.

  • I wasn't attacking your lack of variety of music idiot.

  • I guess I was just confused because you were acting like the only options were fast, short songs (which didn't seem to have much to do with this video) and coldplay.

  • Comment removed

  • You are right, short, fast songs don't have much to do with coldplay.

  • @DallinCoons you're retarded dude.

does anyone else see how much time I appear to have wasted on trying to have a rational discussion with this guy?

  • You haven't disputed anything I've said thus far, all you've done is attack me. I said you probably listen to Coldplay, you didn't respond to that very well. I then said said Coldplay doesn't sing fast songs. I may be wrong about all this but just tell me so. Dickwad.

  • reminds me of goodbye forever

  • the best fucking alkaline trio album is from here to infirmary and good mourning.

  • This song hit me just like......

  • selling some rare trio vinyls ebay uk go check em out, this song is awesome by the way :)

  • Because it is the darkest album, both the lyrics and the music are dark. There are no other albums from Alk3 that make you feel as you feel when you listen to that one.

From Here To Infirmary is a good album as well. These are my favorite ones.

Anyway Alk3 is so much different from the other pop-punk bands since it reveals the deepest darkness of your soul ^^

  • good song

  • Yay Brendan introduced it :D I love TLA

  • good mourning was easily the best album ever made by alkaline trio

but this is pretty amazing too - sounds a bit like misfits

  • how so? o.o

  • what do you think the best album is?

the reason i say that GM is the best is that this is the first album i heard by the band and it is the one that made me fall in love with them. lol im not sure how that might sound to a third party but every time i listen to all on black, blue in the face, continental and all the other great tracks it just takes me back to when i was still a kid skating around london.. so even if the album isnt "objectively" the best, its the one i have the closest link to

  • lol i should have been more specific, I meant how does this sound like misfits? yeah, Good Morning is a great album though ... but anyway the reason i asked is I kinda don't hear the resemblance at all lol

  • I think the resemblance is in the shit chords throughout the song.

  • '-' yyyyyeah, I don't understand how they are "Shit Chords" but okay :P

  • @sheetman100

i agree good mourning is the band's best album ever

  • )) agreed

  • I remember going through a huuuge Horrors phase. Joshua Third plus Alkaline Trio? *faint*

Anyways, this reminds me of some of the older songs by' em. Yay!

  • Really liking this song! Although I wouldn't consider them bad albums, this song is much better then pretty much all of the tracks on Crimson and Agony and Irony. They're getting back to their best.

  • Comment removed

  • i have yet to hear an alkaline trio song I dislike. That goes all the way back to their first album Maybe I'll Catch Fire. Ever since the start this band has kicked ass. I will admit, I didn't really like Crimson or Agony and Irony at first that much, but they grew on me. This album is gonna be amazing

  • i think you haven't heard enjoy your day certainly not dan's finest hour

  • no it certainly wasn't. that lisp was horendous. but I thought the lyrics were ok.

  • f.y.i. Goddamnit was the first album

  • good call. i always get the dates mixed up for some reason.

  • @catwell82

    I thought it was "Sundials".

  • "Sundials" and "For Your Lungs Only" for that matter were both EP's released in '97 and '98 respectively. And unless you lived near Chicago those years or paid out the ass on eBay, chances are you have them when they were re-released as the self titled album in 2000. I was referring to Goddammit as their first full length.

  • thumbs down for saying maybe ill catch fire was first

  • Finally!

Keep it up, ALK3. No more chick bullshit.

Keep writing songs in the vein of From Here to Infirmary and I will buy 10 of your upcoming album!

Upbeat songs rule. "Love love kiss kiss" does not.

    End of story.

  • The first 2 seconds of this video I thought "WTF ALK3 IS THIS BEACH MUSIC" then I realized, oh.

  • fags. this sounds better than their previous album. idiots

  • this song is AWESOME<3 can't to get the album feb23rd:)

  • I think it's funny how everytime a band comes out with a new album all the so called "old school" fans bitch and moan and whine about how the new music sucks. Do you retards seriously want every album to sound exactly the same? I've been listening to Alkaline Trio for probably 10 years now and they have yet to dissapoint me. This new song is no different and I'm sure the entire album will be good. You idiots need to stop complaining and just enjoy the music.

  • @jftjr13 It's because people liked the band they use to be and not what they are now people are entitled to their opinion just as you're allowed to like this. stop being narrow minded and telling people to enjoy something they dont?

  • @jftjr13 agreed, i got into alkaline trio two years ago, listened to all their stuff, and loved all of em.

  • Urggghhh why must people complain so much!

Trio are still awesome, I dont care what anyone says! :P

  • People complain because this isn't the Alkaline trio that we have all come to love. I don't even know what this is.

  • Im really confused which "goddamnit" people keep talking about when they try to reference a non-poppy alk3 album. Have you listened to "goddmanit" recently? That album is ALL kinds of poppy, they have always been poppy. The fact that they still are able to write amazing pop-punk songs is what makes them so amazing. I do miss the dark lyrics though for sure.

  • Eh, it certainly SOUNDS better, but the lyrics were pretty weak compared to their other stuff. Here's hoping the rest of the album is better

  • Ive been a hardcore alk3 fan for years...ive never been disapointed with them. But now i am. This just sucks...lyrics and music totaly suck. I dont know what they are trying to achive. This is clearly an album consisting of songs that did not make it onto Agony & Irony. This music does not sound like its from the heart. maybe the fact that they live on oppisite ends of the country with wives might play a big part in changing them and their music.

  • Ahh, yes. Punk Rock Show with Mike Davies. That is where I first heard this, last Monday, as I said on a lyrics video here.

    Good song!

  • ak3 continues to disappoint me :(

  • Man, I known this band for a long time. Im glad there still making music!!! This is even better then "Armageddon". Im so getting this album.

  • CAN'T WAIT!!!PERIOD!

  • yes... the punk feelin of all the older albums with an agony and irony meaning, its good...

  • @necroaeon well said.

  • oh. This make me excited to listen to the trio again. :)

  • this song seems.... POPPY! Its somewhat of a shame... I truly emjoyed their oldder stuff but this... is POPPY! DAM THEM!

  • nothing wrong with non-miserable melody. cheer up

  • Wow, love the direction they're going with this album. Still like Agony & Irony, but think I like their songs that are more "punk" like this seems to be.

  • I like this, but Goddammit is my favorite album

  • Amazing

  • why would they go back to stuff thats 10 years old??? the times have changed...if you dont like who they are now then shut your fucking mouth and make your own goddamned music you fucking haters!!!!

  • but they suck now... and 10 years ago could kick today's ass anyday

  • @cavan132 They're still awesome

  • is that 93.3?

  • This album is pretty good, but I miss their Goddamnit and Maybe I'll Catch Fire days ]:

  • : ( me too! been following them pretty much since about 2000

  • Yeah same with me ]]]]:

  • @Scareuh6

This addiction has the same producer as both of those albums do

I think this is amazing compared to agony and irony which I was a little dissappointed in that album

  • is this the actual thing? or a joke?

if not a joke....was this song leaked or somethign?

  • I'm seeing them on the 6th I'm kinda excited but still really worried about whether this album's gonna suck or not

  • Downloaded the whole album. This Addiction is the best song on it. Too sad they werent going back to the old stuff. Except you name Crimson one of the old records which is not the case. For me it´s a mix of Crimson & Agony and Irony. There is really no catchy song on it. Nothing really bad but so far off beeing anything special. Not a single track you would open a bottle of beer for while listening to it. They should have split after GM. Would have been a great last Album.

  • I'm seeing them March 16th...so excited!

  • too bad this is the only song worth a shit off the album. Thanks for getting my hopes up skiba.

  • danny would never let you down :)

  • Got a Bouncing Souls feel

  • Hey guys, Ive got the all the songs from this addiction up on my channel, go check it out before I have to take it down.

  • hey can you check out my videos thank you

  • like the artwork as well

  • i like wheatus

  • @ less than you deserve so glad you agree.. a & i so badd [: hopefully this addiction will be back to old ways ;D

  • alk3 are finally back after 2 shity albums. loving the new meets old kind of sound hopefully they keep the lyrics dark and twisted

  • agony and irony was awsome dude

  • fuck yo couch nigga!!! all trio is word

  • I hope they add some awesome lyrics to the other songs like "Tuck me in with the turantulars i wana let them in my mouth and down my throat to lay their eggs". I just want more of the classic darker stuff that i love trio for.

  • I'm so glad its not a repeat of Agony & Irony

  • Not that bad. I don't really like the "This Addiction!!" refrain in the chorus. Otherwise it's basic Alkaline Trio. Does sound sort of old though, compared to crimson and agony.

  • I have to agree with the people saying it bares a resemblance to Goodbye Forever, you can hear it coming through at parts. By no means a bad thing, it's good to feel that they have their energy from the first few albums back. Not to sure on the vocals though, doesn't seem to flow as well as some earlier stuff, maybe thats just me though? Good song though, looking forward to the album. =D.

  • yeah heavily influence by some old stuff, but if any thing it's ok....."their taking it back" lol

  • New album has some old school promise

  • i'll always love the trio. they've been my favorite band for years. i dont think this is really going back to their roots. i dont think they can ever achieve that. it does sound more like it than their last album tho for sure. vocals are too clean and poppy but hey, its new trio material so i'm not complaining. can't wait for the album. hope i don't here it on the radio too much.

  • hell yes!!! * * * * *

  • Comment removed

  • Goodbye Forever wasn't on Goddamnit, it was on The Alkaline Trio, but I agree it bears a lot of resemblance to their older stuff - kind of like My Friend Peter in a lot of ways as well. But I think that is a great thing.

  • Goodbye Forever is from their self tilted album you moron.

  • @bava67

    My mistake.

  • I love how the guy removed his comment now...

  • goodbye forever was on self titled you boner

  • Love. this. song <3

  • Typical AT, which is good. I wana find a good copy of the song, Id steal it from here but the quality would be bad :P

  • pre-ordered the album already!

  • still over produced for my liking... sticking too much to the likes of a&i ... but hell its Trio , gotta like it .

  • anybody have an mp3 of the song yet?

  • When they tour i really hope they come to Ireland.

  • Well i like it better than "help me" , not that its a bad song. I normally like the tracks towards the late/mid of Alk3 albums

  • Huge Alk3 fan here.

I like the song a lot, I mean, the Trio can't write a bad song. But does anyone think the lyrics are a little weak for them?

Not hating here, just wondering other peoples thoughts on it.

  • no hard feelings man...

On the blood pact, we all think the lyrics are pretty weak for the trio too

  • Derek put on his Twitter about how no one should renew BP memberships. Any idea what's up with it?

  • nobody knows, he said its over with... but another member on the site said that the band is taking it over... but its all rumored right now. It hasnt been updated since January 2009...

  • i agree man, it seems a little empty for them.

  • @j0ngEn Lyrics do sound a little tame but I'm glad to hear a more "From Here to Infirmary" sound. If the rest of the album is much like this I'll be very happy.

  • hey hey slackers intro

  • yeah now you say it i can hear it in the intro i think the drum beat is the same.

check out my cover of this song

  • i cant wait for the cd and tour....

comeondieyoung44, i guess we all think we know eveyrhtng when were 18. when trio released their first cd you were in 3rd grade.

  • yes! this sounds like classic trio :)

  • I like Methadone

  • sounds like a song from millencolin

  • dude this sounds nothing like an MC song?

  • really, sounds like "fingers crossed"

btw i love alkaline i have an alkaline heart tattoo on my shoulder.

  • oh my god, how can you say that? I havent heard their new stuff but old MLCL is mad fucking good. No offense, im a huge alkaline trio fan, but I don't think is sounds like Infirmary or any older stuff at all. It's not that great, but still better than most other music.

  • saves the day is a good band.

  • @z0mb13 Saves the Day is a terrible band. I don't know what you classify 'good' as but they're definitely not.

  • @TrioChick97 hah so true

  • I think it's cool how Brendan sounded genuinely stoked about the new record. I'm in need of an Alkaline Trio/Lawrence Arms tour.

  • for me, maybe i'll catch fire will always be my favourite alkaline trio album. their new album should be shit hot. cant wait for them to do their uk tour this year :) check out my 2 alkaline trio covers on my page and tell me what you think :)

  • i dunno, it sounds more skatepunk like their old sound but it doesn't really sound like goddammit, you can't expect people to work backwards almost fifteen years. who wants to play the exact same thing every day? i've liked every album they've ever put out, period, some more than others. and if someone thinks their music doesn't have heart - you can suck it, and why the f*** are you even listening to them then?

  • Skiba couldn't have been listening very hard to the Horros. They fucking suck.

  • @andydeee not so much

  • YESSSSSSSSS

  • i agree with you fully tampon

  • there sound has changed a LOT throughout the years....I for one enjoy that it keeps new shit I liked calling all skeletons personally, however stupid kid was also one of my favorites. Some bands can change up there sound and still be good, like alk3...some should have stuck with there older sound...A7x for instance, thats just a personal opinion though.

  • I also feel the trio have been generally pretty adept in their ability to shift sounds over the years...though stuff like 'Calling All Skeletons' doesn't really light my fire; can't lie. Though there are songs on A&I I do really enjoy (mostly Dan's). I'm also in the majority whom really likes the new wave-ish direction they took on Crimson and thought they pulled it off pretty damn well, all things considered.

  • *minority* - 'scuse me

  • For me From Here To Infirmary is by far their best album, but i actually really liked Agony & Irony too.

As for this new song; i really like it, although i do think it sounds quite bland. But it is growing on me.

Can't wait for this album to drop =]
