This is a great idea. He is ahead of his time a visionary. Sonic Youth played "jams run free" off the Rather Ripped album, and "Kool Thing" from the Goo album.

Anyone who doesn't get this is not an artist.

Its lost its edge. I can see why some would not like Sonic Youth with these clothes. Its about a feeling that and it works. He is on a whole another level. Some people get it, some never will. He's major visionary and that's a fact...

i like of how theres hardly NO diversity on the runway.

There are so many different tyrpes of people and there is only 2 races being represented. But only 2 black models?! and nothing else really. :(

The lack of diffierent ethnicities on the runway is upsetting, especially since some designers actually ask specifically for white models. We all have different skin tones and body types that are beautiful and unique, the Fashion industry should use that to their advantage.

I totally disagree with the general sentiment of all so far. This collection was innovative, fearless, and will once again predict the upcoming trends for fall and winter '08. So reminiscient of Grace Jones eighties, instead of the usual 80s mall/valley/Flashdance girl. However, I am not into fashion shows becoming rock concerts, ugh, can the focus please be on the clothes and not on the "scene"? It's like -- we get it, you're edgy, shut up

Marc Jacobs is a great designer who i love and respect, but he always leaves mr thinking twice about his collecton, at first i hate his collection than i love the next day....but this collection left me clueless i dont under stand who would wear the unusual and ugly shapes and muted colors..its unflattering and aside from a few jackets coats and sweaters i thought Marc could of done a lot better

I totally agree with you. Since he went to rehab, started working out and caring about the celebrity attention, Marc Jacobs has been sending out somewhat plain and not very thought out collections, only really caring about his self image. I hope he comes around.

OMG! I love how Marc is just being a dick to people about starting the showing on time because everyone gave him such a hard time for his tardiness in past seasons lol! But I thought this collection was really on trend. And you can't really hate him for being quirky because that's him. I love his collections for Vuitton better. I mean they have the same kind of mood, yet Vuitton always has that extreme blaitan lux about it and Marc Jacobs collection always has a urban New York coolness about it.

I only cared about the fashion show in this regard: even knowing that Sonic Youth (my favorite band) has always been obsessed with pop culture, this is one of the most bizarre videos I've ever seen. Didn't anyone dig the irony when Kim Gordon sang about "liberating us girls from male, white, corporate oppression?" in the middle of an NYC fashion show?? Only SY pulls this off so well--in the middle of the very exploitative thing they are both fascinated and repulsed by at the same time.
