  • such google than very good video

  • found one thing google is not good at...

  • Thanx. Most artist are not be able to describe their own pictures as other people see it. So a comment-area ist a good idea but also a lot of work. I removed this feature becaus 80% of comments were spam.

  • Eg. if you have a beautiful tree in an Image with other background things, we could realize the Tree place a significant importance than others like bird or dog in the image. while the Bot(spider) cannot realize it. Hope it understand a bit for you .

    Catch me @ HiSwat

  • @Land Lubber : Try to add some Description for Photos not for SEO purpose but for people. That will help you. You can also share in Flickr that may help you rank well.

    ----

If you have to know the answer why images are not crawled by BOT because every images is formed by Graphs ( in deep sense , DOTS) that is extended in two axis . The Main negative point in crawling Images is, the bots(spiders) cannot understand what is the main part of the image needed to be crawled.

  • "AAHH!!

    those boobs are so hot!"

  • Land lubber... again? o_O

  • Thanks for the share.

  • "AAHH!!!!

    That woman is so pretty"

  • Flickr can also be used to generate a geo-sitemap. That could be good for relevance for location based photos.

  • "sort of show up a bit higher"

  • That's a good one..

But i really don't understand if the images are properly optimized and when people go for Image Search in google. Do the domain which in the web results appear or image strategy is different...

I mean just for understanding it's really not a question..

    Thanks matt for the video

    regards

  • Alt tags are for text to display if the person viewing the site is having trouble loading the images. This is about gainig page rank for a site that consists mainly of pictures. They want to rank well without spamming the site and ruining conversion. read between the lines :-)

  • @NICHOLASM1987 well, the alternative text that shows for people that are having trouble loading pictures can act as a keyword.

  • @andruha11234 yes, but this is not the answer to the guys question. He wants his site to boost in the rankings. The alt texternative text can contain keywords but if every alt tag on the site does it will be spammy and an abuse of the alt, so this is why matt has not mentioned it, because the alt is not meant to be filled with keywords to manipulate your search rank results.

  • @NICHOLASM1987 its not spamming if you type in the description of the image is actually about.

  • @NICHOLASM1987 What I was talking about was I think the asker wanted to know how to get PAGERANK to their site through links. Matt answered how to optimize the content of the page. So I said it would be a good idea to put ALT tags in the images which are links from other sites.

  • @TGcommercial Not just ALT, also Title attributes. Alt = aternate. On some sites, instead of the red x, you get that alt content.

  • @TestShoot That's what I said :D I have two YouTube usernames: TechieGeek1 and TGcommercial. LOL it does get confusing :)

  • @TGcommercial OIC, ok lol

  • Why so many questions by Land Lubber?

  • @SEOAwareDOTcom - Probably because Land Lubber asks a lot of good questions. This was an excellent one. If his/her questions are the best, they're the ones Google should answer - regardless of how many times they do so.

  • Great question and excellent response Matt.

We will add comment sections to our images as you suggested.

    Thanks!

  • really useful suggestion about comments

  • What about ALT taglines? Does Google not read them?

  • @Darrell54 Yes, they still use ALT tags. Maybe Matt forgot to bring that up?

  • Oh I guess I was wrong :)

Butt Matt I think Land Lubber was talking about how you can get pagerank to a site if your links are images. (You kind of focused on ranking a page with an image high but not so much about links).

My suggestion for having that "anchor text" on image links is alt tags in the image code and the title tags in the link code (That text that shows up when you hover over links).

  • Before watching the video and just by reading the description I'd bet $10 the answer is ALT tags :D

  • very useful. I think many people have an easier time adding images to a website but not enough text, so this advice applies to more than just photographers.
