Gorgeous. Someone recently suggested I learn these, and since I'd never heard them, and I'm generally not a huge fan of Britten, I was a little apprehensive, but OH MAN these are gorgeous. His use of color and texture in this cycle is beautifully informed by the poetry.
Originally composed for the soprano voice, though Pears (whom I love) later made it his own. That said, I prefer hearing a soprano in this (and Harper is wonderful). Perhaps my favorite recording of this.... Thanks much for posting.
