You can hear Under Attack in this, just like Dreamworkld has a part which sounds like Does your Mother Know. You can also hear Under Attack in "Just Like That". ABBA experimented with sounds obviously before releasing final works. It's often called demo's people.
No there is nothing wrong with that but I have to listen hard to hear it. At the end of the day this Rubber Ball Man/Under My Sun lark wasn't a serious piece-hence why they thankfully left it. And as neither of these 2 are strong enough for ending up finished to the wider masses, that just makes 'Under Attack' even more important.
Will you lot stop brining up 'Under Attack'-like it's a song pieced together from better body parts. Under Attack sounds only like Under Attack! The music here sounds more like T-Rex's Get It On. And I may say that one Bee Gee song sounds like another-ditto Madonna, Madness, Adam Ant, Cure, Eurythmics and all that overated trash!! More importantly, 'Under Attack' is a devastating serious piece about stalking. ABBA had the best songs at the end-CASSANDRA is beautiful beyond belief!
Under My Sun was recorded in the studio this version is in the studio also Rubber Ball Man has a slightly different backing track and Under My Sun is the early version of Rubber Ball Man this is the true story.
Rubber Ball Man and Under My Sun are the same songs.
Rubber Ball Man was recorded, while Under My Sun was live (this is an instance). Under My Sun was never recorded, so nobody but ABBA knows whether Under My Sun or Rubber Ball Man was meant for release, but it never happened.
The melody they both sharre (backing track) was cut up and used in parts of Under Attack, in actual fact a verse from Rubber Ball Man was used in Under Attack.
This sounds like an early version of Under Attack. Interestingly, Under Attack has some similarities to Just Like That, yet Just Like That has no similarities to this song. These early versions and unreleased songs helps to give us a little insight into how some of their work developed.
Was there any attentions at the time to record a studio version of this track. If they were practicing this track for thier 79 world tour why did they leave it out instead GIMME.GIMME,GIMME was released?
To NATTERZ345: this was taken during their 1975 sessions when recording the "abba" album. I got the long version with some chatter included in beginning. They were discissing about the "solution to take this out of the track list" because they werent quite "sure" about the track. And so they did, maybe did they wrong?
From what I understand, this was an outtake from the Voulez-Vous sessions and a remake of an earlier outtake 'Rubber Ball Man', which had a more disco feel. This was a practice session for the song which was supposed to be performed on their 1979 tour.
hmm well u may be right, but whats confusing is, as they talk, right in the beginning they are arguing about witch song they are gonna practice and one ( B ore B) saying that "my track list telling we´re gonna do S.O.S..." thats why my conclusion this is an eraly outtake from Abba album. (My native tounge is swedish aswell)
this song reminds me "Under Attack". Maybe because of the music.

I really don't understand why they never recorded it (except for the demo versions), it's really a great song. Same for "just like that".

Hey, nothing wrong with letting songs (or any other artform for that matter) evolve...if it was good enough for Mozart it's good enough for Abba...
I love listening to Dreamworld and Just Like That especially...just wish there was somewhere to get all the rare stuff

Never heard this version. I think they would've released this instead of Rubber Ball Man, Because RBM has so bizarre lyrics.

the lyrics of RBM only were nonsense lyrics to get a feeling for how words go with the melody :)

Fantastic song from a group who produced so many works of genuinely timeless beauty. Brings back so many memories of much happier times.
