I'm amazed at the comments. Do you guys know that this album is nearly 10 years old? Perhaps this means that great music is timeless and transends generations. I remember seeing these cats back in 2000 @ a show in DC it was Unspoken, Jlive, Grap Luva, and some other cats. One of the best nights I ever had. You guys really missed out on some great stuff.
I actually didn't come across it, by...whatever that t.v. show was...just sooorrrta, found it.. iether way-glad there gettin some more support...deserve it- thats for sure :)
yes but if people hated eachother beacause of their personalities it would at least make sence, judging somebody beacuse of what they look like is just stupid.. but then again even if we don't want to we often do that ourselves. For example :
if you see a rich guy with fancy clothes in an expencive car you maybe would think that spoled ass, he doesn't nessesary need to be. OKEY i think im loosing the track here but i hope you get what i mean..
this is beautiful it's so hard to find hip hop like this without going way back when it was new when peaopel put there soul into it and think hard bout the lyrics not jus think of some of the usal things that most rappers make song bout (money, women, ect)
nobody will be one race but they we all will be mixed and different! Maby then people will open there eyes and see themselves and others more clearly!
man racism is not tearin this world apart.. and why would u want everyone to be the same race?.. we would have no individuality in our history.. no sence of accomplishment for what our culture had done.. no pride from where we came from.. cuz we'd all be da fuckin same.. we dont need to become one race made up of every culture to banish racism n prejudices man.. we just need to be proud of who we are and at the same time respect other cultures..
just because we'd be the same race doesn't mean we would have the same culture, look at white people for example..no disrespect..but if you saw a white guy in germany and a white guy from france, their culture is comepletly different... no matter what color we are no one's the same...but i do agree wit you that just because of are differences we shouldn't be prejudice, our society is diverse, and that's whas up about the world...because were so different, are why we are human.:-D
ya i agree with ya man.. but if it continued on for so long that we were all the same.. and i don't just mean racially.. but also culterally.. than that would really suck.. i like culture.. race.. and all that shit.. it is funny u bring up europeans though lol.. becuz no one ever rlly discriminates against blacks becuz of where they came from in africa.. but people do all the time over which part of europe a person came from
I agree with y'all, but even if everyone was the same race, people would find something different about eachother and hate them for it. Religion, cultural differences, even where you're from, your looks, political interests etc... that's just how people are. Life is not and will never be ideal for anyone, so when everything else is shit and until the day we're all gone, there's always music.
i agree wit ya.. people r always gonna be haten on people who r dif than them.. like if we all had da same features cept fo a few people.. than people with red hair would be hated against more.. or blonds.. or blue eyes.. im just sayen why would we all wanna be da same.. we r always gonna be haten eachother
even if we were all the same hair eye skin color.. same features.. same religion.. same heritage.. than wed prob just end up haten eachother for what our personalities r like..
Real talk. Differences in any kind or form will always segregate people. Take something as basic as school, for instance. Kids get dissed for being short, for being tall, for being dumb, being smart, being fat, being skinny... this goes on even later in life, some cases more extreme than others. If we were to promote the average man and a world in the middle, what would it be like now?
yeah man, i could say the same person about a guy from africa that i could say about a person from europe, because africa is just as diverse, it's not a country of imagriants like yours truly, so everybody there has a different background, different dialouge, different history, it'd be like goin to two another world in you own country, but just because we are like that doesn't mean we can't connect wit one another, i mean were human, we must have something in common? :-D
true i never heard a guy say go back to europe to a white guy its usally somthing like go back to france gernmany or where ever he comes from and wwhen it comes to a black guy its always go back to africa
wow damn good point our w. geo teacher said something like that but she said if you saw a black guy that lived in upstate new york and then one from the manhattan/brooklyn area their cultrues would probably be worlds apart
man, racism jus one of da tools dey use to destroy the people. maybe interracial couples are growing, but that has always been the case in important cities and countries, even egypt, after the blacks beame less dominant there, became a melting pot for the native afrikans, assyrians, caananites, greeks, romans, persians, arabs, british... etc. but there will always be, and has always been seperate races. 1
You know, modern poetry has degenerated from geniuses like Langston Hughes, who wrote about genuine hardship, to Soulja Boy, who writes about himself. But there are still artistic masterminds like Asheru to keep art truly alive.
MLK Jr. Dream was not hat African-American's would rise up and defeat whitey. It was equality. Racism in any form inhibits that dream. Hate begets hate.
Asheru; is a youth-activist. Check him out on Wikipedia. Masters Degree in English, supporter of Inner-City Youth Activism.
The Man knows what real lyrics are.
It is a shame that we as a culture reduce the prestige of the educated, and instead idolize the common. We celebrate the destruction of beauty and knowledge and curse anything that requires this beautiful commitment.
Wow! This is Godlike Hip Hop right here...It's to bad that most mainstream Hip Hop talk about cars, bitches, money and wannabe gangstas thinkin they tough.
This is real music forever! Oh and Vwizzle saying that we're all white...nah! The world would be fucked up if we're all white, or all black, or all Hispanic; We need a variety, we need different cultures in our world ya dig? It's just to bad that you don't show some respect, I hope ya learn it one day.
WHAT R U TALKIN BOUT? this man is a genuis just because we dont listen to mainstream rap don't mean that we are any less black than u we just prefer to hear the truth as opposed to the genocidal nonsense America is feeding you.
LOL! That's not at all strange buddy; hell me watching Samurai Champloo (a hip hop theme anime and samurai epic) basically introduced me to hip hop... By first getting me interested in the shows main producer (Nujabes), and then looking up other like-minded artist like "MF Doom" (who is know one of my fav rappers).
That's EXACTLY how I got into Asheru. I was watching SC, and I listened to Nujabes, then I listened to Asheru because a friend and I were talking about The Boondocks.
Please let me know if I'm not the only one angered by elementary schoolers walking around singing watered down hip-hop about sex that they play on the radio.

i just can't seem to shake this dream, a feeling i have of a radiant sapience, i just a lowly homosapien
they would gleen all their sheen of the queen living inside the brahman mist, they could prove all this
the tune of the eternal june they would prove with cold fusion, making stars, with simple movements
in the atmesphere, love in fear would be a play thing for the venusians, hear their thoughts as a soothing kiss
truth with this, sol wouldn't do with this,
so he woke me from my bliss
