im from mexico and that happened to my about 8 months ago and im still fighting with mac to get it repaired cos they dont want to proceed with my warranty does any one knows what can i do in my case? cos im so sick of it

The Air was a really bad design lol, this is coming from a long time Apple fan.

mine broke as well. funny thing is i forgot to buy apple care b/c i was in japan most of last year but they are still repairing it for free.

I took it to the genius bar and they said it was my fault, that I must have over-extended it and I swear this is not the case. Some have speculated that this corner (where the CPU) is gets too hot and can result in cracked hinge. It happened to me after watching youtube - when my cpu was hot because Flash is very inefficient in OSX. I wish I had bought an EEE or Wind and ran Linux instead.

That is a common thing with the macbook air it has happened lots of times on people on youtube there is plastick tubing beetwen the the two hinges it can sometimes it can snap so take it to geiouse

Yep, happened to mine. Now the middle plastic tubing between the two hinges has cracked & left hinge lifted. Taking it to Genius Bar tomorrow.

E' pazzesco, anche il mio Air mostra i primi segni, la cerniera di sinistra ha un gioco eccessivo. Sei tra i primi a denunciare questo problema, che possiamo fare per chiedere alla Apple di provvedere a riparare il problema? Io ho segnalato per email il difetto, ma se si organizza una richiesta di massa io sono pronto a collaborare.
