  • can you take a picture of the sheet music and send it to me in a private message? I need it for band:) Thx.....

  • Wait, wait, wait... You've been playing for 6 years, and you still use a 6 1/2 AL? I've been playing for 4 years and I play on a large bore 5G. I strongly reccomend you change your mouthpeice to at least a 3G.

  • @AlexSeesYou

i have never met someone who uses a 3g, a 61/2 is fine whatever you like is what you use

i use a 5g and a wick 2, which is what i like but not eveyone is like you

  • A faster slide and adequate breathing will help you tremendously. Work on your high notes - make them as free flowing as possible. Lip slurs and just shooting and carrying out you highest note as a long tone everyday will help you improve. Watch your slide positions too, your pitch seems to be off quite a few times.

  • PLEASE change your mouthpiece. i absolutely despise 61/2s.

  • On your slurred staccatos, don't fully tongue them - put your tongue about halfway up to the roof of your mouth instead, just denting the airstream. Also, for the high notes, try shaping the piece a bit more to the high notes - it will make it easier if you crescendo to them and it will sound more musical. You also may want to look into a Schilke 57 (makes your low notes less gravelly and lets you put more air through.).

  • I got it off ebay, for $1650. It was slightly used for 3 years when I bought it.

  • 6th year playing, and you/ your parents can afford a potentially $3500 horn?? wow........-.-

  • haha better than me dude.

  • Not too bad, again, high notes...try holding the eraser end of a pencil in your mouth for as long as you can, it helps build range.

And SLOW DOWN THE 16TH NOTE TRIPLETS!!! I used to do the same thing, they're slower than you think.

Also, work on your tone a bit, long tones and lip slurs should help...also, play smoother and more connected.

  • Do you know where I can find a recording of this one? I need it because this is my Lions Band Solo.

  • @Glanerd for such a well known solo, this song should be easy to find, but it isn't. I never found a professional level recording to learn from. If you find something, please tell me!

  • @FixedLensProductions I have the Carl Lenthe recording from his album "Windows"

Awesome stuff, message me if you want it

  • nice atreyu poster, they kick butt dont they :D

  • Also the beginning could be a little slower too. Careful with your high G's and F#'s, they're always flat, so adjust accordingly.

Lip slurs every day will help with the higher notes.

  • This is my sixth year playing trombone.

  • Smoother and more connected, like your singing. It's really separated and short right now.

  • how long have you played trombone??

  • not bad man, just think the moving sixteenth triplets and 32nds nine tuplets lines as a waterfall. and your softs are a bit under supported, Ithink that you are forcing your upper range too much relax. I like your tone. Keep up the good work. Sounds Goods.
