  • manzareks solo that you play from 1:29 to 1:56 is one of my favourates of all doors songs

  • I keep watching your videos to see if I can detect any mistakes. Absolute perfection.

How long have you been playing? How many takes before you completed this gem?

You are dead on balls accurate sir ! Bravo maestro !!!

  • I'd love to have you in my band :D Nice work dude.

  • if you grew your hair out, i wouldnt know

  • Excellent!!!

  • excelente

  • Fantastic!

  • Ok, here's the deal; the Gibson sounds great on some, acceptable on others and downright awful on a few, the VC sounds mint on all! Oh, and the Kalamazoo is fugly!

  • @husq48 Exactly. It sounds like a train horn on some songs.

  • para cuando todos creyeron que la gran ostia la aviamos perdido :)

    la encontre!!

  • MARAVILHOSO!!

  • alle video's zijn top! En een geweldige collectie heb je daar man!

  • You are fantastic, this is so much fun to watch and listen to!

  • Does anyone know how he gets this music?

  • ear.

  • EVERY time I listen to this I am absolutely blown away by how you do it the EXACT SAME as Manzarek, look somewhat like him, and man that Gibson and Rhodes looks brand new!

  • You should start singing :D

  • I can't play the RH nearly this well if all I do with my LH is scratch my nuts!!!!!

  • I can do both good, but then when I try to combine them, it ends up sounding like a Car wreck, the Right hand does the right thing, and my Left just goes wild lol.

  • Hi , I just got a G101 given to me for work done.I'm missing the orginal pedals. Any advice you can give me? trying to restore it?Looking for a tech guru.

  • You can hotwire the connector underneath with a piece of wire and it will give you full output. Go to Combo Organ Heaven for directions. Then you can use a passive pedal on the amp.

  • I've always thought the Gibson sounded kind of like a train horn lulz. I like it, but its kinda wierd,

  • great naice cover you are really god

  • You and Val Kilmer should start a Doors tribute band lol.

  • I agree it would have been perfect

  • @RayManzarekGod Val Kilmer did the Shitiest job as jim sounded nothing like him and al the doors didnt like hios performance.

  • @TBeanIV Wrong. The Doors said they liked his performance, but the movie overall was bad. Also they were amazed by his singing voice.

  • @TBeanIV Wait, don't get me wrong, that movie was still a piece of sh*t. TERRIBLY innacurate and exageratted.

  • @TBeanIV your a cunt, kilmer over played the part in places in the film, but his voice was unreal, very good portrayal in my opinion, of a very hard character to portray

  • @benzy199 no no no do me and yourself a favor go watch videos of jim performing and val performing and then you'll realize how sitty of a performance it is you dumb stupid prick!

  • @TBeanIV i,m talking about his singing voice you cunt, not the film, so do me a favour and read what i wrote you mug ''kilmer over played the part in places''

  • fantastico,incantevole

il nuovo doors del 2000.love serenities

  • Great playing, thanks for the video!!!

  • I think you should buy Gibson G201 too.

  • i tell ya wat av played guitar since av been 15 and listened to the doors most of me life , and iv never seen anyone come as close as this guy playing it , especially the light me fire version gets my vote all the way !!

  • sorry meant to say 5 stars

  • any ass that would rate this vid lower than % stars is jelous little little fuck. this guy is inspiring me to take to take keyboard lessons

  • I am a HUGE Doors fan and my request to you is to please record "Love Street " which I believe is one of the most melodic of all Door's tunes. It's obvious that you have the talent to make even Ray be a little bit jealous...I'll be checking back..Thank you so much for your contribution to Youtube...

    Cheers mate !

  • brilliant man, keep it going!

  • GREAT!

  • woow one of the best!!

where did you get the kit?

  • Just freakin' awesome! Please keep them coming my friend.

  • Hey man you have got these doors songs down, i'm a huge doors fan and its seems like you are to. your one of the only people that put soul into these songs on here. great job!

  • This is wonderful Great Listing.

  • wow!

  • Seems like the organs are a bit out of tune... (or the tape dno) (I assume that you've noticed and that's why my question is; Is it difficult to tune?)

  • After a while the capacitors start to lose their capabilities and the circuits that create the notes add a bit dissonance.

  • What that 2 means in the videos name?

  • Not in love with how the Gibson sounds on this song, but it's played perfectly.

  • Nice, but the organ sounds slightly out of tune at the accords.

  • amazing.

  • Man You Rock! You have Got that song down to every last note..Great job playing it..

Huge Doors fan.. looks like you are tooo!! you've got the groove while playin! Watched your other videos..there all awesome!

  • Where did you get that organ and for how much? If you dont mind me asking.

  • I wonder what Manzarek used for the harpsichord effect on the album version? I know he was still using a Continental at that point, but the only Continental I know of with a harpsichord effect is the Baroque...

  • He used a real harpsichord in the studio.

  • He was actually using both by the time Strange Days came out, I have seen live shots of them in 1967 where Ray is playing the Gibson. Also, there is a harpsichord effect on the G-101. It doesn't sound Exactly like a harpsichord, but close

  • Yeah, I agree. He was definitely using the Gibson by late summer of 67. I have the G101 as well and it nails the sound of the live version of the song, but the studio cut was definitely the real harpsichord.

  • Hi Jimmy, he used a real harpsichord. In this time he used an RMI 300 piano aswell, but also the RMI couldn´t bring up such an natural harpsichord sound.

  • @serenities ain't that a Hohner Clavinet D6 or E7 he's using originally?

  • Yeah, it's allwright !

  • I love this guy, he hits the spot everytime....ya can tell he really likes playing the Doors too :)

  • I am Miky. I have a tribute Doors band. Congratulations man!

  • you rock man

  • or he's super talented

  • Exactly. I've learned how to play piano at a beginner level just by reading books on music theory, practicing at the keyboard, downloading free sheet music off the internet, and listening to audio clips of tunes online.

  • Oh, man!

You are the best pianist/organist that I seen...

    Ray Manzarek II.

La hostia tío, interpretas a los Doors como nadie, cabrón!

  • Captures the spirit and verve of the original. Fantastic!

  • I love this version the most, it´s on The Doors ´In Concert´ double CD. The Gibson sounds very awesome, actually your farfisa has also a very distinctive sound.

  • @serenities Hello. You are amazingly smooth, I love watching your vids. You are a literal inspiration. 3 questions: I wish to spend under a grand for a keyboard that can make the doors sound. Any suggestions? Taking requests, please do strange days next, I would love that. If you are in NYC, can you guve some sort of lesson? I am completelt intrigued by how it seems you must split your mind. I would love insight and help, even if just a reply.

I can match your passion, probably not your talent

  • @hateutoo100 to answer your question for a keyboard: if i were you, then i'd save money and buy a clavia nord electro 3 (costs, i think, around 2300 us dollar). yes, it is indeed expensive, but the vox-organ sound (and all the other piano, rhodes, hammond, ... sounds) are really great!:)

  • That organ tone is incredible man! The playing is spot on. What do you use as an amplifier for your old organs?

  • Hey Taylor, i use a Fender Twin Reverb, '71 silverface. And yes, this tube-amp does more than justice to these organs and the fender rhodes.

  • I own a '69 Twin Reverb myself, used for guitar. They are by far, imo, the best clean sound around. I just never knew how many key players used this amp until I looked into it!

So you plug the Rhodes into the Normal Channel and the G101 into the Vibrato Channel I am guessing?

  • Exactly, but the sound is 100% from the organ. I didn't used the vibrato and/or reverb on the twin. It's the staccato + sustain combination on the organ itself which creates the awesome 'filthy' sound.

  • Please, Please, Please buy a Clavinet and start playing some Funk. You have got major skills! Jeff. United States.

  • Thanks man! If you know where to find one? ;)

  • Your transcriptions are rock-solid. I really wish you would publish them as they would be perfect for people like me who are trying to learn how to play. It's not easy to pick up when you're only starting at 32...

  • awsome playing,great work. I also have a g-101

with expression peddle and will be putting it on ebay shortly. dont have time to play.keep up the great sound

  • Nice. I got a Gibson myself off Ebay a few years ago. Fantastic instrument especially for us DOORS lovers!

  • I'm learning this now on my Gibson and I think the tabs settings stayed the same and when I watch him on vids, he doesn't switch tabs.

  • VERY GOOD MAN... but I think after the "All right Yeah" ( ;-) ) ray changed the sound?!

  • nice tone and nice retro hair, thanks.

  • I've never seen such a good rendering of Doors songs on organ and grand piano.

    You are AWESOME!!!!!
