This is about the mafia. The guy who disappears (into the rear loader) is a made man, IIRC a Boss, about to be nailed by the Feds. Hard to say if this was suicide or a hit, but either way, there isn't much of body anymore.

Wow, how old is that movie? I've never seen a compaction mechanism in the back of a rear loader like THAT before (!)
