Sierra Leone? The BBC gave a strong impression that it was the British Military, who stabalised the situation in that country. Neither I nor many black people living in the UK. Knew of the sacrifice that Nigerian soldiers have made don't blame us all. Many of us here contrary to the media want a strong independent Africa.

I know. When i watch Blood Diamond, they made it look like White SA stopped the Sierra Leone war. My mother that watched it with me, starte laughing saying that Nigerians where the ones who stopped it and i researched about it and ended up finding out, it was us.

Looking forward to the day when Nigeria and Nigerians (those at home AND abroad) take the lead in defining the image of Nigeria. Frank Nweke did a good job of presenting a different view of Nigeria but there needs to be "all hands on deck." Especially the Nigerians in the diaspora.

Nigerians can make it so more people know Nigeria for Omugwu, Palm wine, akara, and Mama Eisigie (the face of Festac) than 419 when they will it to be that way.

So true,my dear sister.The Nigerian military along with allies from other west African countries did all the hardfighting, defeated the RUF, ended the war.....then the UK sent in the paras when all had already ended and claimed the victory was their doing.Typical.
