greatest basket player ever changed the college basket when they did not allow player to dunk just to control how dominating player he was.... did not matter anyways he got the sky hook that is deadly as well but with a finness hihihih greatest BASKETBALL player ever
I watched Kareem at his peak and can honestly say he was the most dominant all around player that ever played the game and he had the most awesomely unstopable shot the NBA has ever seen. Kareem made Magic Johnson the star he is. Magis would have never won a title without Jabbar in L.A. Boston would have won all those matchups.
@ExplosiveThinMan 3 straight titles...could have had 4 but they didn't allow Freshmen/1st year students to play back then...now 1st year students get big NBA contracts. wow.
When Moses Malone was league MVP, Rick Barry noted his greatness but pointed out that bringing Kareem into a game was like bringing out nuclear weapons.
I totally agree with you. His basketball resume is unmatched by anyone who ever played in the NBA. Flash is good but numbers add up. The numbers don't lie and he was not a ball hog but an ultimate team player.
@BxL121 did kareem ever get 55 rebounds in one game, did he ever average 50 points in a season, did he ever score 100 points in a single game, did he lead the league in blocks(whether or not their counted) or assists, give me a break wilt was a better defender, had more sophisticated offensive game, wilt is easily the greatest player ever and their are several guys between in him and kareem
@KingsChamps02 kareem did lead the league in block shots at least 2 years, he is the all time leading scorer, and after he broke wilts record for the all time leading scorer, wilt himself said kareem was the best player he ever played against. wilt could not hold kareem one on one. wilt said himself he needed help to guard kareem. kareem was the only man wilt need help with
@KingsChamps02 Good point. But to be fair about it, Wilt had very little competition at the time except 6'9 defensive-minded Bill Russell. By the 70's and 80's, every team in the NBA had a good 7 footer. I will never forget the late 80's when a 40 year old Kareem blocked 8 shots in one game vs. Houston. 4 against the "Twin Towers" Olajuwon and Sampson. As you know, Hakeem won his titles only after Kareem retired and he then emerged as the next great center. Facts don't lie, ask the Dream.
1980 game 5 of finals vs 76ers, sprained ankle, taken out of game, comes back hobbling and dunks w/ game still on line late in 4th q. directly over the great
how fortunate i was to grow-up in L.A. from the West-Baylor-Chamberlain through Jabbar-Johnson eras on up.........and i'll never forget the defeat by Jabbar's Bucks to end the Lakers 33 game win streak
The skyhook was pure beauty- show them in slo-mo with some great jazz that Kareem is such a fan of. Kareem was the yin to Magic's yang- the Lakers may have had "Showtime" but they needed the strength and calming presence of "The Captain", too. Wilt Chamberlain is my all-time favorite player but Kareem is in my top 5 favs! Thanks for doing it "your way", Kareem!
Best Scorer, 6 time champ, Best Offensive shot, most badass looking, best name, best decades
